    Abstract: An air flow rate meter for ascertaining the mass of the air flowing through an intake tube of an internal combustion engine. The air flow rate meter includes a temperature-dependent measuring resistor, which as a resistance wire is stretched out in an aperture of a carrier body and is disposed, as is a reference resistor, as an element in a common electrical bridge circuit. The carrier body protrudes into a flow cross section through which the air flows, and the reference resistor is wound, in the form of a reference resistor wire, on a partial segment spaced apart from the aperture. A compensating resistor is disposed in the aperture upstream of the measuring resistor and spaced apart as far as possible from the reference resistor.

    Abstract: A pressure control valve which serves to control a determined medium pressure. The pressure control valve includes a medium chamber with an inlet opening and an outlet opening for the medium to be controlled, separated by a membrane from a spring chamber with a valve spring. On the membrane, a valve member is floatingly disposed via a ball-shaped support member, which acts together with a valve seat. The outlet opening is disposed upstream of the valve seat in such a manner, that during a medium pressure to be controlled the valve member lies upstream of the outlet opening and together with the latter controls the flow of the medium to the valve seat, while during a medium pressure below the valve member descends with throttling action to a greater or lesser degree into the outlet opening and blocks the valve seat at a predetermined lower medium pressure.

It can be combined with stop valves in order to make possible a multichannel pressure control. The compressed brake system is intended for use in motor vehicles, especially in utility vehicles.

In addition, the anti-skid regulating valves are preceded by a valve assembly which upon the actuation of the anti-skid regulating valves disconnects the anti-skid regulating valves from the main brake cylinder and connects them to a pilot pressure. This switchover is effected in the presence of an anti-skid regulating signal and/or a redetermined deflection of the brake pedal of a main brake cylinder piston.

    Abstract: A method is proposed for measuring the flow rate of the pulsating air mass aspirated by an internal combustion engine when there is a backflow. To this end, an integration process in one direction is initiated at a zero passage of the flow rate measurement value (U.sub.S) of the air flow rate measuring device at a given time, which indicates the beginning of the backflow; this integration process is continued until a subsequent zero passage occurs. Directly thereafter, an integration process in the opposite direction is initiated, which is terminated at a time when the latter integration value returns to zero. During the first integration process the flow rate measurement value (U.sub.S) is set to the value of zero and is not deregulated until the termination of the second integration process, so that it then jumps to a value which is subtracted from the flow rate measurement value, and the result is a flow rate measurement value from which the backflow has been excluded.

    Abstract: A method and an apparatus are proposed for adapting the exhaust gas recirculation rate in internal combustion engines, in particular Diesel engines. In order to prevent the smoke which is produced at first in new engines, or when injection nozzles or the like are replaced, an adjustment is made in the exhaust gas recirculation rate, acting as a supplement to the change in this rate which is conventionally made, the supplementary adjustment being preferably performed in stages and with reference to the function of the duration of operation from the time the varying operating conditions begin. The number of injection events is counted and successive memory locations are triggered at time intervals, effecting an adaptation of the exhaust gas recirculation rate up to the final status, each stage in adaptation being stored permanently in memory as it is attained.

    Abstract: An electromagnetically actuatable valve which serves in particular to inject fuel into the intake tube of internal combustion engines operating with fuel injection systems. The fuel injection valve includes a valve housing, a shell core having a magnetic winding and a flat armature, which is firmly connected with a valve element which passes through a central guide opening in a guide diaphragm and cooperates with a fixed valve seat. The guide diaphragm has a fastening zone and together with the central guide opening cut out of a centering zone of the guide diaphragm guides the valve element in the radial direction toward the valve seat. The fastening zone is connected via struts with an annular guide zone on which the flat armature, under spring tension, rests with a concentric guide edge and is guided in a plane parallel to the end face of the shell core. The centering zone of the guide diaphragm is connected in turn via struts with the guide zone.

    Abstract: In the pump work chamber of a fuel injection pump, the main fuel delivered by a first metering valve is admixed with at least one further additional fluid by means of a second metering valve via a second inflow conduit. The two metering valves inserted into the inflow conduits and being electromechanically actuatable receive control pulses (I.sub.Z1, I.sub.Z2) dependent on operating characteristics (n, T, S, L) from an electric control unit. By means of the metering into the pump work chamber, the respective amounts of the fuel components are very well mixed or emulsified and pumped to the injection nozzle. The electric triggering of the metering valves enables a rapid adaptation from one stroke to another of the mixture ratio of the various fuel components to the instant operating condition of the internal combustion engine.

    Abstract: For a speed governing system for an internal combustion engine with self-ignition, which includes an electromagnetic final control element for influencing the injection quantity and a control unit having a governor for controlling the final control element, provisions are proposed which give the governor a high dynamic amplification in the range of a drop in the engine rpm, a dynamic amplification that drops from a higher value to a lower value in the range of a sudden drop of engine speed, that is, an rpm undercutting, and a flattened governor characteristic in the vicinity of the ends of the control range. A governor of this kind reacts very flexibly to changes in rpm and in particular does not enter a saturated state, and it adjusts to a new control state without disruptive reacceleration phenomena. A governor of this kind is particularly well suited for motor vehicles having a Diesel engine with a relatively large number of cylinders.

The damping device includes a guide bushing, which is firmly connected with a bearing shaft of the air flow rate meter and has an outer Thread-like groove. A blocking body provided with a matching inner thread-like groove is rotatable on the guide bushing and is supported such that it is axially displaceable counter to a compression spring in the direction toward a detent body attached to the housing. The detent body and the blocking body have latch protrusions oriented toward one another, which upon an axial movement of the blocking body toward the detent body are capable of meshing with one another and stopping the movement of the air flow rate meter in the event of intake-tube recoiling.
