  • Patent number: 7752471
Abstract: A bridge circuit that is located between a peripheral device and a USB connection to a host. The bridge stores data indicating the amount of power required to execute each particular command. When a command is received, the command is executed if this list indicates that a particular command can be executed with the available power. If the list indicates that the command can not be executed with the available power, the command is either rejected or delayed. The bridge may include a power storage device that accumulates and stores power. In this case the list of commands would indicate commands that can be delayed until the storage device has accumulated sufficient power.

  • Patent number: 7746922
Abstract: Wireless devices transmit and receive radio signals based upon reference frequencies generated by crystal oscillators. If the reference frequencies of the transmitter and the receiver are different, the radio signals may not be received properly or may not be received at all. A measurement circuit measures the amount of error or signal corruption in the radio signals due to the reference frequency offset between the transmitter and the receiver. A frequency offset circuit generates an offset operating frequency in the transmitter or the receiver to align or calibrate the operating frequencies of the devices.

  • Patent number: 7746181
Abstract: An improved circuit and method is described herein for extending the usable frequency range of a high performance, narrow band phase locked loop (PLL) device. For example, the improved circuit and method may perform a calibration sequence for calibrating an LC-type voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) immediately before or during operation of the PLL device. Unlike previous methods, the calibration sequence described herein provides a fast and convenient method for extending the usable frequency range of a PLL by shifting the center frequency of the LC-type VCO to a desired frequency. For example, the VCO center frequency may be incrementally shifted (e.g., either high or low) to compensate for the actual environmental conditions in which the PLL is used (i.e., to compensate for specific process, voltage, and temperature conditions).

  • Patent number: 7747911
Abstract: A method and apparatus for verifying non-volatile memory. A first transmission of data is received by a first memory of a device. The data is received by a non-volatile memory of the device. The data received by the non-volatile memory is verified by comparing it to the data in the first memory with comparison logic of the device. The verification is performed without receiving a second transmission of the data and without sending a second transmission of the data. A result is generated from the comparison.

  • Patent number: 7741918
Abstract: A frequency synthesizer is described. In particular, the frequency synthesizer includes a modulator circuit for producing a signal of modulated frequency. The frequency synthesizer includes an accumulator for summing a plurality of errors in the modulator circuit. An error sum value is generated. More particularly, the accumulator increases the rate of sign change of the plurality of errors. An error signal modulator is coupled to the accumulator and modulates an index that is associated with a current error based on the error sum value. The index that is modulated is used for selecting a feedback loop divider count value used for dividing a frequency of the signal. As a result, the error noise around a target signal shows an increased sign change of error, which moves the error noise to higher frequencies. This improves EMI performance.

  • Patent number: 7737724
Abstract: A programmable routing scheme provides improved connectivity both between Universal Digital Blocks (UDBs) and between the UDBs and other micro-controller elements, peripherals and external Inputs and Outputs (I/Os) in the same Integrated Circuit (IC). The routing scheme increases the number of functions, flexibility, and the overall routing efficiency for programmable architectures. The UDBs can be grouped in pairs and share associated horizontal routing channels.
