Abstract: Polymers comprising two the more recurring units of formula ##STR1## wherein A.sub.1 is an aromatic bridging groupeach K.sub.1 is independently the radical of a coupling component,E is an aliphatic, aromatic or aromatic heterocyclic bridging radical,each R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 is independently C.sub.1-4 alkyl substituted C.sub.1-4 alkyl, C.sub.3-6 alkenyl or substituted C.sub.3-6 alkenyl orboth R.sub.1 's together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached and/or both R.sub.2 3 s together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached form a morpholinium, piperidinium or pyrrolidinium group, andeach A.sup..crclbar. is independently a non-chromophoric anion, are useful as dyes, particularly for dyeing paper and leather.

Abstract: A process for chrome aftertreatment comprising contacting the material to be chrome treated with a chromate in the presence of a composition comprising either(A.sub.1) a product of reacting a mono- or poly-functional primary or secondary amine with cyanamide, dicyandiamide, guanidine or biguanidine, whereby up to 50 mole % of the cyanamide, dicyandiamide guanidine or biguanidine may be replaced with a dicarboxylic acid or mono- or di-esters thereof, the product containing reactive hydrogen bound to nitrogen; or(A.sub.2) the product of reacting A.sub.1 above with an N-methylol derivative of a urea, melamine, guanamine, triazinone, urone, carbamate or acid amide optionally in the presence of a catalyst for the crosslinking of N-methylol compounds of the type above; or(A.sub.3) the product of A.sub.1 above with epihalohydrin or a precursor thereof; and(B) a reducing carbohydrate.

Abstract: The invention provides novel .alpha.-aryl- or -aralkyl-.alpha.-(cycloalkyl-alkyl)-1H-azole-1-ethanols, in which the alkyl moiety linking the cycloalkyl group to the ethanol group is substituted or branched at the carbon atom adjacent to the C(OH) group, which are useful as plant fungicides and for treating fungus diseases in man and animals.
