Abstract: A specimen collection assembly and method for detecting the same are disclosed. The specimen collection assembly includes a specimen collection container having an open top end, a closed bottom end, and a sidewall extending therebetween defining an interior adapted to receive a biological specimen. The specimen collection container also includes first indicia containing information. The assembly further includes a cap having thereon second indicia, the cap being removably engagable with the open top end of the container. The second indicia contains the same information as the first indicia.

Abstract: A tray (100) for accommodating a coiled medical device, such as a catheter assembly (700), includes a first compartment (101), a second compartment (102), and a third compartment (103). The catheter assembly (700) and devices associated with a catheterization procedure, such as syringes (701,702) containing sterile water and lubricating jelly and a specimen container (703) can be disposed within the tray. Printed instructions (1001) can be included with the tray (100). When a CSR wrap (1000) is disposed about the tray (100), the printed instructions can be placed atop the CSR wrap (1000) but beneath an outer sterile wrap (1002). The printed instructions (1001) can include a patient portion (1202) that is detachably coupled to a health care services portion (1201) such that it can be taken home with the patient after the procedure.

Abstract: The invention describes a method of printing onto a balloon that includes the steps of: coating the printable outer surface of a balloon with a primer material; attaching the balloon about a supporting substrate to form a balloon blank; flattening the printable outer surface of the balloon on the upper surface of the substrate; attaching a first tab on a first end of the balloon blank; attaching a second tab on a second end opposite the first end of the balloon blank; applying the balloon blank to a printer, via the first tab, which in use prints a first image onto the printable surface; and moving the balloon blank back through the printer via the second tab, which in use prints a second image onto the printable surface.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for a platform adapted to fit atop a first drinking container and provide a stable surface for securely supporting a second drinking container stacked atop the first. In one exemplary embodiment the platform is a flat circular plate bounded at a perimeter edge by a first cylindrical wall on one side of the plate and a second cylindrical wall on the other side of the plate. The cylindrical walls may each include a cut-out to provide clearance for a handle on one of the drinking containers.

Abstract: Multi-layered bags include an outer layer or bag and an inner layer or bag that is shorter than the outer layer or bag. The shortened inner layer or bag can stretch or expand to the outer layer or bag when loaded with objects or otherwise strained. Such multi-layered bags can allow for a reduction in thermoplastic material without compromising the strength of the multi-layered bag. In various implementations, the inner layer or bag may be non-continuously laminated, continuously laminated, or joined only along one or more edges to the outer layer or bag. Implementations including non-continuous bonds securing the inner layer or bag to the outer layer or bag can provide additional strength to the bag. Methods of forming multi-layered bags with a shortened inner layer including inserting an inner layer within an outer layer and then joining the layers to form a bag.

A vehicle danger notification control apparatus includes an outside recognition arrangement for recognizing a running vehicle and/or a pedestrian as a moving object(s), a danger determination arrangement for determining whether there is a danger of collision(s) between the running vehicle and the pedestrian and/or between the running vehicles, and a danger notification arrangement for notifying, in a case in which the danger determination means determines that there is a collision danger, a driver of the running vehicle and/or the pedestrian of the collision danger.

Abstract: The present invention is a cuvette assembly for use in optically measuring at least one characteristic of particles within a plurality of liquid samples. The cuvette assembly comprises a main body having internal walls and external walls, and a plurality of cuvettes within the main body at least partially being defined by the internal walls. Each of the plurality of cuvettes has a liquid-input chamber for receiving a respective one of the plurality of liquid samples, a filter, and an optical chamber for receiving a respective filtered liquid sample caused by passing the respective one of the plurality of liquid samples through the filter. Each of the optical chambers includes an entry window for allowing transmission of an input light beam through the filtered liquid sample and an exit window for transmitting a forward scatter signal caused by the particles within the filtered liquid sample.

Abstract: One embodiment of a universally attachable leash bag having an interior chamber for temporary storage of retrieved pet waste secured in waste bags and exterior pockets for supplies or personal belongings. Bag is formed of a single piece of material fitted with a zipper along the lower edges and partially up the side edges. When engaged, zipper creates a bag form with interior chamber. Zipper is utilized when emptying the chamber to prevent pet owner from direct handling of waste. The vertically extended sides of the bag, fitted with corresponding members of hook-and-loop tape, feed through the pet leash handle forming a secure method of attachment. The front edge of leash bag is fitted with a reinforcing device to create an opening for the extended end of the leash to pass through creating a secondary means of attachment and a utility hook for carrying items or tertiary means of attachment.

Abstract: The volume of lubricating oil stored in the sump of an internal combustion engine for a vehicle is in significant excess of the volume of oil circulating through the engine at any one time. The circulating oil, drawn from the sump, may be rapidly heated during its passage through the engine, but the excess volume remaining in the sump dilutes and cools the circulating oil as it returns to the sump. By separating the oil volume into a portion which is circulated through the engine and a second portion which has only limited opportunity to mix with and cool the circulating oil the circulating oil may attain its operating temperature more rapidly. Once the stored volume of oil in the engine has also reached its operating temperature the circulating oil and stored oil may be recombined.

Abstract: Garment systems include complete, independently wearable garments like gloves, socks, scarves, earmuffs, headbands, hats and the like having attached thereto one or more single-use, air-activated exothermic heating packs sealed in a substantially airtight envelope, which can be opened when it is time for use. Thus, according to embodiments described herein, a user can simply open a package and put on the garment(s), and the exothermic heating pack(s) will be automatically activated by exposure to air, without the user having to place a heating pack inside a special pocket or the garment or fit a heating pack to their body before putting on the garment. The garments can be discarded after use for disposal or recycling.

Abstract: Grouts, grout products and methods of applying such grouts that include a urethane-acrylic hybrid polymer dispersion (UA-HPD) and a filler material. The UA-HPD may be present in an amount of about 10-40% by weight of the composition, while the filler material may be present in an amount of about 60-90% by weight of the composition. Additional filler materials may also be provided within the UA-HPD grout composition to provide the resultant UA-HPD grout with desired characteristics and properties. The UA-HPD containing grouts are applied between spaced-apart tiles and/or masonry to fill voids and/or joints there-between.

The process includes the step of providing a pliable laminate film shaped to cover a selected portion of the face of a cellular telephone. The film comprises outer sealing layers bounding a transparent inner laminate sandwich. The inner laminate sandwich comprising polymers layer bounding a time-pressure release pesticide used to produce a pesticide concentration gradient in the polymer layers bounding the pesticide.

Abstract: A pocket is fixed to a cellular phone and has a pouch removably receiving a rectangular card to selectively couple the rectangular card to the cellular phone. The pouch has inner and outer panels, and a pair of elongated slots formed in the outer panel to form an elongated strap therebetween with opposite distal ends attached to and formed with the outer panel.

Abstract: A case for a mobile communications device is provided that is configurable to take on at least two audio/audible configurations. The first audio/audible configuration is a handset configuration and the second audio configuration is a headphone/earphone/earbud configuration. The case has a housing and a headphone male connector. The headphone male connector forms part of a headphone male connector assembly. The headphone male connector assembly is capable of moving the headphone male connector to selectively and/or mechanically engage a mobile communications device headphone port to actuate the first audio/audible configuration in a first position, and to actuate the second audio/audible configuration in a second position. A method of switching between different modes of operation of a mobile communications device, such as an iPhone™ smartphone, using the functionality of a removable, protective case for the device is also provided herein.

Abstract: A wheeled container for a memory foam mattress includes a plastic container having an upper end and a lower end with a bottom surface that extends to a lower edge of the container, a pair of wheels rotatably mounted to the plastic container at the lower edge of the container, and a handle mounted to the plastic container, whereby the handle is mounted on the same side of the plastic container as the pair of wheels. A compressed memory foam mattress is disposed inside a flexible storage bag, which, in turn, is disposed inside the plastic container. The plastic container has a storage configuration in which a bottom face of the container is parallel to the ground, and a moving configuration in which the container is tilted onto the pair of wheels for rolling the container over the ground.

Abstract: An assembly including a paint tray liner for protecting a paint tray from coming in contact with paint being held within the tray. The assembly includes a flexible plastic member having a generally rectangular shape and including an open end to receive the paint tray within the flexible plastic member, a sealing strip coupled to the flexible plastic member located proximate to the open end of the flexible plastic member, and a vacuum valve coupled to a side of the flexible plastic member to remove air from the flexible plastic member to create a vacuum within the flexible plastic member and form the flexible plastic member to the contours of the paint tray. Also shown are methods of manufacturing and using the paint tray liner.

The bottom member may be adapted to receive the elongated legs to thereby elevate the pouch holding rack and the filling member so that the premixed liquids may be poured through the compartments of the filling member into the open pouches held by the holding rack therebelow. Subsequent use of the filling kit, the components may be disassembled for storage within the bottom and top members forming the container.

Abstract: A method of using a kit to clean an injection combustion engine while the engine is running comprising removing a vacuum hose attached to the engine, inserting a tube attached to a compartment containing a liquid cleaning chemical inside the hose, introducing the chemical into the engine's fuel system in a controlled fashion, removing the tube from the hose after the recommended amount of chemical is in the engine's fuel system and reattaching the hose.

Abstract: An emergency change of clothing kit is provided with a full outfit sealed compactly into a container (vacuum sealed in one embodiment). The container is to be small and portable and will keep the clothing clean and dry until the time for its intended use. A disposable, sealable bag will be provided to place any soiled clothing in. One embodiment of the kit can range in sizes from Newborn to 3T. Other embodiments include clothing suited for ages from 3 to adult. The clothing can be of sufficiently high quality and design that it can be worn repeatedly after initial opening of the package. For the kits ages 2T and above, underwear can also be provided.

Abstract: A pet waste disposal kit includes a kit bag with an impermeable lining that can be worn around the waist or over the shoulder of the pet handler. The kit bag serves as the secondary container for filled waste collection bags, and it also serves to store the other materials contained in the kit. The kit also includes a supply of lightweight, impermeable, biodegradable plastic gloves, which can be made of biodegradable polyethylene, and a supply of waste collection bags made of lightweight, impermeable, biodegradable plastic, containing a disinfecting-deodorizing mixture. The disinfecting-deodorizing mixture contains a highly alkaline compound, a desiccant and a deodorizer. The waste collection bags have re-sealable zip-locks or twist ties. The kit also includes a supply of antiseptic hand wipes or a liquid hand sanitizer.

The package comprises a shallow tray and a cover which in closed condition slants towards a bottom wall of the tray thereby providing the package with a substantially wedge-shaped appearance. The package furthermore comprises two support faces to stand on alternately. A first support face is located at the bottom wall of the tray and a second support face is located at a bottom-surrounding wall of the tray, at the higher end of the wedge. During use, the package can be positioned on its second support face for presentation purposes, on its first support face for consumption purposes. During transport, pairs of packages may placed with their slanting covers against each other, in opposite lengthwise direction so that a high end of a wedge-shaped first package borders a low end of a wedge-shaped second package.

Abstract: Disclosed are various methods, kits, and compositions in the field of electroless nickel plating and chemical polishing. An electroless nickel plating composition may include a surfactant-brightener; a coupler; a bismuth metallic stabilizer; and organosulfur stabilizer and a bismuth complexer. Prior to plating, a substrate may be polished with a polishing composition that includes a surface blocker and a surface leveler. When practiced in accordance with the preferred teachings described herein, the electroless nickel plating composition is capable of providing a mirror-bright, lustrous finish, and has good leveling properties. The composition may be made without lead or cadmium.

Abstract: The use of a combination of at least one stable nitroxyl radical and at least one quinone methide as a stabilizer for resin mixtures and reactive resin mortars, each based on radically curable compounds, is described. Resin mixtures and in particular reactive resin mortars may be combined very effectively with a combination of at least one stable nitroxyl radical and at least one quinone methide to make them stable in storage.

The open space in the downward-facing cavity at the bottom of many typical cups is utilized by providing therein one or more deflectable storage members, such as a blister-pack-type storage member, with an item sealed inside such as gum, a mint; candy; a pharmaceutical; a prize; a toy; or any other item. The item can be dispensed by pushing radially outward on the deflectable storage member and causing the item to break through a breakable member on the outside of the cup, such as aluminum foil. Various example embodiments, materials, and methods are described.

Abstract: A transparent, biodegradable, disposable splash shield sized to fit on a toilet bowl rim to prevent splashing of water from the bowl when a plunger is used to free an obstruction in the toilet. The shield is dome shaped and has an upstanding projection on its top that can be gripped to pull the shield from the plunger handle following use. An annular flange on the bottom end of the shield is adapted to rest on rim of a toilet bowl. Adhesive material on the underside of the flange, or strips of adhesive tape on the marginal edge of the shield, releasably secure the shield in position. The shield is nestable and may be foldable in half. A toilet kit includes the splash shield, gloves, at least one paper towel, and a flattened box, all packaged in an envelope-like bag that can be used to contain and dispose of these items following use.

Abstract: A packaging box is provided for individually packaging a container for tire repair fluid. The box has six outer walls that surround the container. A container holder for holding the container upright is provided in any one of the outer walls. The container holderholder is formed by deforming the outer wall. The container is removed from the packaging box, the outer wall of the packaging box is deformed to form the container holder. The container holder is used to hold the container upright. A first hose is connected between a tire valve of a wheel on which a pneumatic tire is mounted and an outlet of the container. A second hose is connected between an inlet of the container and an air compressor. The air compressor is operable to inject the tire repair fluid in the container into the pneumatic tire using the pressure of compressed air.

The first set of cleaning pads can be arranged in an upper portion of the storage container above the second set of cleaning pads, and the second set of cleaning pads can be located in a lower portion of the storage container. The wand or cleaning implement can be configured to receive one of the first set of cleaning pads from the tray or one of the second set of cleaning pads from the sleeve.

Abstract: A packet and label combination structure for use with a beverage container that houses packets of beverage enhancing formulations on the outer surface of the label which can be placed around the body of a bottle or container of water or other liquid and transported with ease. The packets containing the beverage enhancing formulations have perforated edges linking each other allowing for easy removal of the packets from the underlying label to pour the contents of the packet into a beverage container holding water or other liquid. A significant advantage of the packet and label combination feature is that the beverage enhancing formulations are available at one's fingertips when needed to infuse water or other liquid in the bottle or container rather than carrying the packets separately along with the bottle or container.
