    Abstract: The present development is for a closure which provides a liner for abutting a surface and maintaining an effective pressure against a peelable seal affixed to a container lip as the sealed container is exposed to relatively high temperature and pressure conditions. The liner which abuts a surface of the seal sandwiches the seal between the liner and the container lip. The liner defines a resting thickness at ambient temperature and pressure conditions and is made from a material capable of being compressed to a thickness less than the resting thickness and of recovering to a recovery thickness sufficient to allow the liner to maintain a positive pressure against the seal upon exposure to elevated temperatures, elevated pressure, or a combination of elevated temperature and elevated pressure.

    Abstract: A cap 10 which has a female screw 14 in the inner peripheral surface and which is to be screwed on a port neck part 13 of a container main body 11 holding a predetermined liquid, wherein a plurality of ribs 18 radially extending astride from an inner surface of a top surface part 16 of the cap 10 to an inner surface of a peripheral wall part and integrally projecting inwards are formed on a peripheral edge part 17 of the inner surface of the top surface part 16. A female screw 14 is a screw in the form of two threads composed of spiral mated ridges 14a, 14b of two threads, for example. The liquid held in the container main body 11 is, for example, a chlorine-based bleach which contains a surface active agent and a sodium hypochlorite. The mated ridges 14a, 14b each are 80 to 120 degrees in thread angle &thgr; and 1 to 15% of a valley radius of the female screw 14 in thread height H.

The container has a generally cylindrical side wall, a closed bottom end, and an open top end having an inner beveled lip depending from an annular top rim. An elastomeric layer is integrally molded to the cap shell along the outer surface of the top wall and the skirt as well as along the underside of the lower rim.     Abstract: A tamper-evident, snap-on, screw-off closure is used with a specially shaped container neck. One neck has double lead external threads and, below the threads, a conical wall having external ratchet teeth. The closure has an upper skirt having internal threads mating with the neck threads. A conical lower skirt is connected to the upper skirt by a plurality of frangible bridges. The lower skirt has internal ratchet teeth to mate with the neck ratchet teeth. The cap skirt threads are double pitch and slightly over 360° in length. When the cap is applied to the neck it snaps on in two stages. The lower skirt has a tear tab which, when pulled, fractures the lower skirt on a vertical line. Continued pulling on the tab sequentially fractures the bridges. Another neck has a neck stretch with multiple neck threads and a locking wall below the neck stretch with a plurality of external teeth.
