The inner void includes a closed end adjacent to a first end of the container and an open end at a second end of the container. The container also includes an outer void extending along the axial length of the container. The outer void encircles at least a portion of the inner void along the axial length of the container. The outer void includes a closed end encircling the inner void adjacent to the open end of the inner void and an open end at the first end of the container. An outer wall of the outer void includes a transition to a diameter of an opening at the open end of the outer void and that is adjacent to the closed end of the inner void.

Abstract: An apparatus for cross-flow purging for optical components in a chamber, including: a housing with first and second axial ends, a side wall extending in an axial direction and connecting the first and second axial ends, and the chamber formed by the first and second axial ends and the side wall; an optical component disposed within the chamber and fixed with respect to the housing via at least one connecting point on the optical component; an inlet port aligned with the side wall, between the first and second axial ends in the axial direction, in a radial direction orthogonal to the axial direction and arranged to inject a purge gas into the chamber and across the optical component in a radial direction orthogonal to the axial direction; and an exhaust port aligned with the side wall in the radial direction and arranged to exhaust the purge gas from the chamber.

Abstract: A blender for home or commercial use that is rugged enough to blend frozen beverages, simple to use and safe. The blender includes an upper housing with a front housing door that covers the moving blending machinery. The blender also includes a cupholder receiving area which allows the user to safely insert a frozen food or beverage cup inside a cupholder for blending. After the start button is pressed, the cup and cupholder will be lifted together for blending in a balanced, linear motion by an elevator assembly. Dual lead screws or a dual belt drive are preferably used in the elevator assembly to achieve this balanced, linear motion. As the cupholder is lifted upward, a cover will be pressed over the top opening of the inserted cup to prevent spillage during blending. The elevator assembly continues to lift the cupholder upward until the rotating cutter blades of a spindle assembly cut through successive layers of the frozen food or beverage.

The shell is a sandwich shell which is dimensioned to provide for a predetermined collapse resistance of at least MPa and includes an inner steel layer, an outer steel layer and a concrete layer completely filling the space between the inner steel layer and the outer steel layer.

Abstract: Provided is a basket assembly that includes a container portion and a lid rotationally coupled thereto. The lid may include a rib that extends therefrom at a location proximal to an axis of rotation of the lid. The lid may be configured to interfere with an interference portion of the container portion as the lid is rotated between a closed position and an open position relative to the container portion, the interference between the rib and the interference portion being configured to maintain the lid in at least one of the open position and the closed position. Various associated apparatuses are also provided.

The wing may include two ends positioned opposite from each other, and the wing may be substantially perpendicular to the fuselage. At least one of the ends may define a space therebetween the fuselage and the wing. The space may be sized to receive a potion of the wing when the wing is wrapped around the fuselage.

Abstract: Containers having improved load-bearing features are provided. In a general embodiment, the present disclosure provides a container having at least one beveled portion at a location where a side wall meets a bottom wall. In another embodiment, a container includes a bottom wall and at least four side walls, the side walls forming corners where adjacent side walls meet. The corners have a beveled shape at a location where the corners meet the bottom wall. The containers of the present disclosure have an axial load compression capacity that is substantially the same as a similar container having a greater wall thickness without the at least one beveled portion.

Abstract: The invention relates to systems for transferring molten metal from one structure to another. Aspects of the invention include a transfer chamber constructed inside of or next to a vessel used to retain molten metal. The transfer chamber is in fluid communication with the vessel so molten metal from the vessel can enter the transfer chamber. A powered device, which may be inside of the transfer chamber, moves molten metal upward and out of the transfer chamber and preferably into a structure outside of the vessel, such as another vessel or a launder.

A plurality of transition lands are disposed between adjacent ones of the plurality of vacuum panels and spaced outwardly relative thereto. The plurality of vacuum panels and the plurality of transition lands cooperate to be inwardly collapsible from a first outside diameter to a second outside diameter in response to at least internal vacuum forces.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to drinkware and in particular to drinkware formed from pliable materials, such as silicone. When used in the present invention, the flexibility of the silicone material differentiates the new drinkware from existing drinkware in a number of ways. First, the novel drinkware is pliable, foldable and bendable, so that it can safely travel without fear of breakage or injury. Furthermore, the form will always return to its original shape, and there will be no wear, tear or fatigue to the material, thereby enabling the drinkware to be stored in a smaller space than that required by drinkware formed from rigid materials.

Abstract: This specification discloses a composition of a melt blend comprising a continuos polyester phase, a cobalt of manganese compound and a first scavenging compound wherein the first scavenging compound comprises at least one allylic group and at least one polar moiety and at least some of the first scavenging compound or the oligomer or the polymer comprising the first scavenging compound is not present in the continuous polyester phase. The partial insolubility is essential for oxygen scavenging and the solubility is essential for reducing haze. The composition is useful in preforms, container walls, and films for packaging.

Abstract: An asymmetric pressurized plastic container includes a bottom, a shoulder portion and a finish portion that is unitary with an upper end of the shoulder portion. A generally cylindrical bumper portion having a first longitudinal axis is provided at a lower end of the shoulder portion. A generally cylindrical main body portion having a second longitudinal axis is positioned beneath the bumper portion and has at least a first sidewall feature defined therein. The first and second longitudinal axes are offset so as to compensate for any lateral deflection of the container that may occur as a result of pressurization acting upon the first sidewall feature. In addition, the main body portion may include a second sidewall feature to provide additional compensation against lateral deflection of the container causes a result of pressurization acting upon the first sidewall feature.

The handle of the removable mini caddy nests with the handle of the caddy while they are attached, providing the user with a single handled tote that is easy to transport and use while still having the convenience of an extra tote where objects can be temporarily removed and then replaced without the need for transferring the objects from one tote to another. The removable mini caddy may be easily removed and then replaced within the caddy while remaining securely in place during use and transport.

The formed resin piece couples with a sealant layer of the cover member.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for forming a package by moulding a cardboard blank in such a manner that a margin area (2) of the blank, surrounding a middle portion (1) of the blank, is bent upwards to form side walls of the package while the middle portion forms a bottom of the package. The cardboard blank prior to moulding is provided with at least one area (4) of reduced bending stiffness being located in a transition zone (3) between the side walls and the bottom. The package is moulded from the blank so that the at least one area (4) of reduced bending stiffness is located in the bended areas between the side walls and the bottom and extend in the running direction of the bend. The invention further relates to a package and a package blank that can be used for forming said package.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a process for applying a design to a sheet metal for use in a portion of a container, for example a cap or an end of a food container. Embodiments provide for applying a multi-color design in a single printing step to a sheet of metal to create a printed metal sheet that can then be rolled into a printed coil or cut to length. The printed metal sheet can then be cut pressed into can ends or caps. The ends or caps with the multi-color design can then be used to manufacture containers, such as a beverage container.

Abstract: An object is sterilized with ultraviolet-C (UV-C) radiation having a wavelength from about 235 nm to about 295 nm. An advantageous wavelength for the UV-C radiation is about 253.7 nm. The object is inserted into a container, which is then sealed. At least a portion of the container is substantially transparent to UV-C radiation over the wavelengths of interest. The container and object are placed into a UV-C irradiation device and are irradiated for an exposure time with UV-C radiation having a predetermined intensity. The exposure time is determined such that a predetermined portion of user-specified pathogens disposed on the object is inactivated. Technical sterilization (99.9999% inactivation) can be attained with relatively short exposure times. The container can be a flexible pouch or a rigid kit. Suitable materials that are substantially transparent to UV-C radiation over the wavelengths of interest include quartz, borosilicate glass, cyclic olefin copolymer, and fluoropolymer.

A V-shaped cut groove is formed to extend in one direction by cutting an outer surface of an inner layer, a curved groove having a curved surface is formed to extend in parallel with the cut groove by pressing an inner surface of the inner layer, and the inner layer is bent with respect to the curved groove. The curved groove is at an offset position with respect to the cut groove.

The chute is integrated into the basket and is the correct size to allow it to be inserted into the typically round opening in the front of the appliance, hooked over the edge by the lip/handle, and the opposite end lifted up to deposit the clothing directly into the appliance with very little effort.

Abstract: A packaging for a tea pouch, a method of making the packaging, and a tea pouch made from the packaging are disclosed. The packaging includes a paper substrate and a coextrusion including an ethylene vinyl alcohol layer. The ethylene vinyl alcohol layer is directly attached to the paper substrate. Packaging of this type exhibits excellent barrier properties, may be heat sealed under pressure to form a tea pouch without substantial amounts of squeeze out, and does not present the cost or disposal issues associated with some other types of packaging.

Abstract: The invention relates to articles comprising a metal surface provided with a glass-, glass-ceramic- or ceramic-type protective layer, characterized in that the protective layer comprises a base layer comprising a matrix made of an alkali and/or alkaline earth silicate and an alkali metal- and alkaline earth metal-free top layer comprising a matrix made of an oxidic silicon compound, and to a method for the manufacture of said articles.
