Abstract: A luggage fastener comprising a female engagement member and a male engagement member, wherein the female engagement member includes a recessed center adjoining member, which can be directly riveted onto the luggage. In securing the male and female engagement members, the hooks of the male engagement member are inserted into the sockets of the female engagement member, while the attachment member is inserted into the adjoining member by guiding the ribs on the male engagement member along the grooves on the female engagement member. Two L-shaped openings at the rear ends of the sockets further facilitate a quick unfastening of the secured engagement members. The benefits of this invention include the elimination of the fabric strap, the reduction of part of the female engagement member, and the resulting material savings as compared to the conventional design of the prior art.

Abstract: Springs associated with a harness of a weaving loom of the Jacquard type are connected on a frame of the loom by an assembly of devices each of which includes a plurality of rods each being connectable with a spring and which rods extend from a common base. Each base is provided with hooks adapted to engage with beaks of corresponding shape for mounting each device on at least one elongated section secured to the frame of the loom.

Abstract: A fastener joins together opposing front and rear side-parts and respectively of an absorbent article in the form of a diaper or the like, so as to form an encircling waistband. The article includes a central part having an absorbent body, and front and rear pliable side-parts which extend from respective sides of the central diaper part. The fastener includes two mutually coacting first and second fastener elements of which the first element is attached to a front side-part and the second element is attached to the rear side-part on the same side of the central part as its associated first element. The first fastener element or the second fastener element includes a fastening portion which projects out from the perimeter of the waistband and which can be inserted into an insertion opening in the associated second or first fastener element.

Abstract: A strap for guitars and the like made from recycled seat belt components. The strap includes as its components a male seat belt buckle member insertably retainable within a female seat belt buckle member, a first length of seat belt strap material and a second length of seat belt strap material, first and second slip buckles; and a pair of connecting members, each having a length of sheet material having an aperture defined adjacent an end thereof.

Abstract: A two-step garment closure, especially for front closing brassieres, has a spherically shaped front portion which is depressible to allow the closure to extend from its contracted position into an extended position. When a button-shaped formation on the rear of the slider is actuated from the back of the closure, the slide can separate from the body of the closure. Alternatively the actuator can be pivoted so that the entire operation can be effected from the front. The closure can thus extend from its contracted into an extended position when the actuator is pivotally swung in one sense and the slide can be fully withdrawn from the body when the actuator is depressed in the opposite sense by the wearer also from the front.

Abstract: The present invention provides a buckle having a desirable operability wherein a pair of plugs are simultaneously engaged and disengaged from a socket by a simple structure. The buckle comprises a pair of plugs and a socket. Each the plug has a tongue portion to be inserted into the socket and an engaging portion formed at a tip end portion of the tongue portion. The socket is formed with inserting portions into which the tongue portions are inserted respectively, fixed engaged portions which are formed in the inserting portions and with which the engaging portions of the plugs are engaged, and an operating portion which is formed between the engaged portions and which displaces the engaging portions to disengage the engaging portions with the engaged portions.

Abstract: A two-piece lock comprises a male connector; a locking mechanism provided on the male connector including a pair of connecting rods each having a rod portion and a slope portion, a pair of springs each putting on one of the rod portions, a tube member for receiving the springs and the rod portions on two opposite sides having a longitudinal center opening and a transverse center hole, a movable member having a head portion and a recessed body portion, and a pair of connecting members each pivotably connecting the rod portions and the recessed body portion which is pivotably secured to the tube member by inserting a fixing means through the transverse center hole and a predetermined position of the recessed body portion; and a female connector comprising a pair of holes on two opposite sides each receiving one of the slope portions in a locked position, and a recessed portion for receiving the head portion.

Abstract: A buckle assembly adaptable for use with strap portions, and comprising a hooking member and a receiving member is provided. The hooking member and receiving member of the present invention lockingly engage in a tensioned position to provide a secure connection. In an engaged and tensioned position, an interference portion on the hooking member securely retains the hooking member within a slot on the receiving member and prevents premature disengagement of the buckle assembly.

Abstract: A quick release buckle particularly for use on backpacks including a two part body, an engagement part and a receptor part each of which include attachments for a strap or belt. The body parts telescope into engagement with one body part including a flexible finger and the other a catch. A buckle release strap is secured to the flexible finger and to the body by a snap fastener. At least one upstanding wing on a body part protects the buckle release strap from unintended release.

Abstract: A belt mounting structure in a buckle which can securely fix a belt in use and allows easy adjustment of an effective belt length and removal of the belt. A belt winding rod freely reciprocates in a direction of fastening the belt and freely rotates at a predetermined angular range within a belt mounting hole. A bulging portion is formed along an upper end edge of the belt mounting hole in the side to which the buckle is connected. A cross-section of a main body of the belt winding rod is formed substantially in a waterdrop shape. A cross-section of each supporting axial portion of the belt winding rod is formed substantially in a shape of an isosceles triangle. When an oblique side portion of the axial portion is mounted and supported on a long side portion of a supporting hole, a tip portion of the main body is pressure contacted to a lower surface of the bulging portion via the belt.

Abstract: The child seatbelt assembly is provided on-site as a single piece and includes two nylon web seatbelt portions which latch to each other by way of a releasable buckle. Both seatbelt portions are permanently affixed to strap retainers by means of sewing or attaching permanently through the seatbelt portions or through a sew-tab included as part of the strap retainers. This provides that the seatbelt portions are affixed to the strap retainers regardless of whether or not the strap retainers are in the open or closed position. This further allows the child seatbelt assembly to be provided to an installation site, such as a grocery store, as a single assembly.

Abstract: A quick disconnect buckle made of a strong and flexible plastic such as poly carbonate, the buckle intended for personal or industrial use, with a high degree of strength relative to buckle dimensions achieved through the incorporation of a latch that employs a single large latching plate and mating opening that cover approximately half the face of the buckle.

Abstract: A buckle system comprising a fixed part is disclosed. The fixed part has a front face and a rear face with a first leg and a second leg and, therebetween, an interior leg and an exterior leg and a central leg. A movable part has a front face and a rear face with an upper leg and a lower leg. Therebetween is an interior leg and an exterior leg and a central leg. A locking plate extends upwardly from the central leg of the fixed part with a section extending interiorly thereof. The locking plate forms a space between the locking plate and the remainder of the fixed part. The interior leg of the movable part has a height greater than the height of the locking plate and a diameter slightly greater than the space between the locking plate and the remainder of the fixed part.

Abstract: A plug and socket-type buckle assembly in which the plug portion comprises a base and a flexible plate integrally formed therewith. There is at least one aperture in the plate. A locking lug extends across the free end of the bottom of the plate and protrudes below the flat surfaces of the plate. The socket portion comprises a top part and a bottom part integrally formed therewith to define a cavity for receiving the plug portion. The top part has a flexible release button integrally formed therewith, with a downwardly projecting tip. There is at least one projecting ledge disposed on the inside surface of the top part for engaging the aperture when the plug portion is inserted in the socket portion. A flexible tongue is integrally formed with the bottom part and has means for engaging the locking lug when the plug portion is inserted in the socket portion. Downward pressure on the release button when the plug portion is inserted in the socket portion disengages the aperture from the projecting ledge.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a fixing assembly for use in, e.g., a switch device, said assembly comprising a female element (10) in the first piece (21) to be connected and a male element (12) in the second piece (18) to be connected. According to the invention, the male element (12) is elongated and elastic and has its end (14) provided with at least one locking surface (15), and the female element (10) comprises at least one locking shoulder (11) and a corresponding widening recess (19) of the female element passageway for the purpose of permitting the entry of a locking surface (15) of the end (14) of the male element (12) to the rear of the locking shoulder (11) into a locking position by way of a twisting/untwisting motion.

Abstract: A plug and socket-type buckle assembly in which the plug portion comprises a base and a flexible plate integrally formed therewith. A locking lug extends across the free end of the plate and protrudes above and below the flat surfaces of the plate. The socket portion comprises a top part and a bottom part integrally formed therewith to define a cavity for receiving the plug portion. The top part has a flexible release button integrally formed therewith, with a downwardly projecting tip. There is at least one projecting ledge disposed on the inside surface of the top part for engaging one side of the locking lug when the plug portion is inserted in the socket portion. A flexible tongue is integrally formed with the bottom part and has means for engaging an opposite side of the locking lug when the plug portion is inserted in the socket portion. Downward pressure on the release button when the plug portion is inserted in the socket portion disengages the locking lug from the projecting ledge.

Abstract: A barrel lock with a hollow cylindrical barrel having a perforated disk attached to one end thereof, and an elongated annular insert mounted within the barrel and extending from both ends of the barrel to provide loops at each end of the barrel. Preferably one end of the insert has a shoulder to engage the disk to prevent the annular insert from passing fully through the disk and the barrel. The barrel lock includes a spring clasp that is adapted to pass through the loop at the disk end of the barrel and also to pass through the perforation in the disk into the interior of the barrel. The spring clasp also engages and locks with the edges of the disk perforation when fully inserted.

Abstract: A buckle comprising first and second plugs, each attached to one end of a respective one of first and second straps, and a socket attached to one end of a third strap. Each plug has at its base a first or second strap attaching portion, a first or second tongue projecting from the first or second strap attaching portion and terminating in a first or second engaging end and to be inserted into the socket. The socket has longitudinal first and second insertion holes formed so as to communicate and confront with each other for receiving the tongues of the first and second plugs, first and second fixed engaging portions projecting in the insertion holes respectively for engagement with the respective engaging ends of the tongues of the plugs, and a release button formed between the first and second fixed engaging portions for depressing the engaging ends respectively to deform and release them from the fixed engaging portions.

Abstract: A multiple-piece buckle having a socket member and at least one plug member, wherein the plug member has a resilient tongue which defines an aperture or other opening near a distal end thereof, and wherein the socket member includes a lug or pin which is adapted to fit into the aperture to lock the plug member into the socket member. Abstract: A quick disconnect buckle includes a female member with opposed side openings and a lateral opening and a male member with longitudinally extending arms and an intermediate bar that includes a lug that engages with the lateral opening. Camming surfaces on the arms and side openings causing the arms to cam against the bar to thereby lift the lug out of the lateral opening to free the male member from the female member.

Abstract: A multiple-piece buckle having a socket member and at least one plug member, wherein the plug member has a resilient tongue having a pair of laterally projecting wings or latches near a distal end thereof, and wherein the socket member includes a pair of lugs which are adapted to engage the latches to lock the plug member into the socket member. The socket member includes a hinged plate or button in a top face thereof which can be depressed to force the wings of the resilient tongue of the plug member away from the lugs to release the wings so as to disengage the buckle.

Abstract: An adjustable waist hand fastener disclosed comprises two components, namely, a button and a plate which can be fixed to one end portion of a waist band. The plate has a slot running along it. The button passes through the slot and can be displaced along the slot. The structure is such that the button can be fixed in any one of a number of positions along the slot. The button can be positioned in two or more predetermined positions or be infinitely adjustable. The button can be a one part construction or comprise two parts. When a two part button is used, the stem of one part is pushed through the slot before the two parts are connected together. When a one part button construction is used, the button must be capable of passing through the slot when in an appropriate position of orientation. The other end portion of the waist band includes a buttonhole which the button fits. The fastener enables the length of the waist band readily to be increased or decreased by displacing the button along the slot.

Abstract: A buckle comprises a plug member and a socket member relasably engageable therewith, the plug member including a retainer means in the form of a disc-like collet and a stopper means adapted to hold the retainer means stationery after the latter is rotated into position in the body of the plug member. The retainer means is normally urged upwardly by a coil spring and serves as a fulcrum about which the plug member and the socket member can be moved rotatably relative to each other.

Abstract: The invention relates to a connection assembly between a support, for example a body part of an automotive vehicle, and a plate element, such as a wall covering, including a lower holding component insertable into an opening of the support. The lower holding component carries a center component whose upper portion comprises a spherical segment which can be clipped into an opening in a tubular section of upper component. The opening which receives the spherical segment has an internal prof ile defined by spring elements spaced about the interior of the tubular section. The spring elements hook behind the spherical segment, and between the spring elements there are arranged spacer elements acting upon the spherical segment to maintain it centered relative to the spring elements.

Abstract: A buckle assembly formed from a molded plastic material comprises a plug member and a socket member releasably engageable therewith, the plug member having a pair of spaced engaging tongues adapted to engage with corresponding flexural flanges of the socket member to urge the flanges to displace radially outwardly beyond the confines of lateral sides of the socket member. The plug member includes a locking prong resiliently movable into and out of a window formed in the socket member. A single hand manipulation of the locking prong and/or the flexural flanges facilitates resilient release of the plug member from the socket member.

Abstract: A component with an unlock mechanism is unlockably locked with respect to another component by a resilient snap tooth engaging in a hole defined in the other component. To unlock the components from each other, the unlock mechanism is pulled between the components to force the snap tooth out of the hole against its resiliency. The unlock mechanism has a slant surface that slides against a slant surface of the snap tooth to displace the snap tooth out of the hole in response to the movement of the unlock mechanism.

Abstract: A buckle (10) comprises a plug (11) and a socket (12) releasably engageable with the plug (11). The socket (12) includes a socket body (21) having an opening (28) formed in its front end, and a pair of catch plates (22, 22) pivotally mounted at their respective middles on the opposite sides of the socket body (21) and each having at its front end an engaging prong (37, 37) and its rear end an abutment (38, 38). The plug (11) includes a plug proper (14) having a shank (14'), a plug head (16) formed contiguously to the front end of the shank (14') and having on its opposed sides a pair of engaging shoulders (17, 17) and means (19a, 19b) provided on the front end of the plug head (16) for, when the plug proper (14) is fully forced into the socket body (21), urging the abutments (38, 38) outwardly apart from each other so that the catch plates (22, 22) rotate in the direction to bring their engaging prongs (37, 37) into catching engagement with the engaging shoulders (17, 17) of the plug proper (14).

Abstract: A buckle comprises a plug including a protuberant arm having first engaging means; and a socket adapted to be releasably coupled with the plug. The lower wall of the socket has a cantilevered engaging flap provided on its inner surface thereof and having second engaging means for snapping engagement with the first engaging means for coupling of the plug and the socket. The upper wall of the socket has a cantilevered resilient presser flap overhanding the cantilevered engaging flap and being yieldable downwardly to thus depress the resilient engaging flap, thereby bringing the second locking means out of engagement with the first engaging means of the protuberant arm for uncoupling the plug from the socket. The buckle further includes a locking plate slidably mounted on the presser flap for reciprocation between its locking position and its unlocking position.

Abstract: The connecting element (1) has a flat head (2) with an inside hexagon (3), a shaft (7, 8) and two studs (5, 6). The two studs (5, 6) are offset against one another through 90.degree.. The first stud (5) molded on the free shaft end is shorter than the second stud (6). The connecting element (1) is suited especially for connecting the side wall (37) of a supply body of a room divider with vertical, tubular columns (35) of the room divider. The connecting element is very rapidly mounted. In the installed state the second stud (6) holds the side wall (37) spaced from the column (35). For this reason the supply body is somewhat shorter than the clear distance between adjacent columns (35). The supply bodies, therefore, can be installed in and removed from the room divider very simply and rapidly subsequently.

Abstract: A buckle includes a first buckle body and a second buckle body. The first buckle body is inserted into the second buckle body so s to be made incapable of withdrawl from the second buckle body and is released from engagement with and made capable of withdrawl from the second buckle body by inserting it further into the second buckle body from its engaged state. The second buckle body is integrally provided with flexing portions which are formed so as to face the free end of the first buckle body when the same is engaged with the second buckle body.

Abstract: A lockable buckle includes a body member, a latch member, and a rotary locking member. The body member includes a pair of locking side slots. The latch member includes a pair of resilient arms having raised tab portions thereon for releasably engaging the opposed locking side slots of the body member. The rotary locking member is disposed in the body member and is adapted for rotation therein between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the raised tab portions are permitted to bend inwardly so as to allow insertion or removal of the latch member from the body member. In the second position, the raised tab portions are prevented from bending inwardly, thereby inhibiting disengagement of the latching member from the body member.

Abstract: A buckle assembly includes a socket member and a plug member adapted to be releasably coupled with the socket member. The socket member includes a resilient locking arm releasable engageable with a pair of locking legs of the plug member when the locking legs are inserted into the socket member. The plug member includes a resilient tongue disposed between the locking legs and lying in a plane extending above the locking legs. The socket member includes a resilient flap disposed above the locking arm and having on its inner surface a presser lug engageable with the resilient tongue to flex the latter downwardly, and a releasing lug engageable with the locking arm to flex the latter downwardly for disengaging the latter from the locking legs.

Abstract: A buckle assembly composed of three components, i.e. a socket, a main plug and an auxiliary plug for releasably connecting three straps or belts. The socket includes a cantilevered resilient locking arm interlockingly engageable with a resilient locking tongue of the main plug when the locking tongue is received in a guide chamber in the socket to thereby couple the socket and the main plug. The auxiliary plug is slidably mounted on the main plug and having two resilient, inwardly deformable locking legs snappingly engageable with respective retaining projections of the socket when the locking legs are received in the guide chamber. The auxiliary plug further includes a resilient releasing leg extending parallel to the locking legs and having a releasing cam projection engageable with the resilient locking arm to flex the latter outwardly away from the guide chamber for releasing the locking arm from interlocking engagement with the locking tongue, thereby uncoupling the main plug and the socket.

Abstract: A jewelry clasp comprising an angled portion which is subject to stress as a result of the weight of the jewelry to which it is attached, is provided with at least one reinforcement rib positioned and configured to increase the tensile strength of the angled portion. A method of forming a jewelry clasp having at least one reinforcement rib, and attachment means thereon for attachment of the jewelry to the clasp. The attachment menas is secured to the jewelry by soldering such that the solder flows into the corresponding groove formed on the outside of the angled portion thereby anchoring the solder connection, and strengthening the at least one reinforcement rib itself.

Abstract: A releasable fastening device for securing workpieces together in a firm and intimate relationship is disclosed. The fastening device is sometimes referred to as a "blind fastener". The fastener comprises a bolt member including a head located on one end of the bolt and extending outwardly therefrom to support an upper workpiece and a shank with an annular recess, the shank being insertable within said through axially aligned apertures located in the workpieces. An expandable device, preferably in the form of a stiff spring is inserted and is confined within the annular recess. When the spring is in its expanded position, it extends beyond the shank along a bottom surface of a lower workpiece thereby along with the head on the bolt member holding the workpieces together in a mating relationship.

Abstract: A multi-piece garment connector is provided for interconnecting related garments or the like so as to prevent accidental separation of one from the other, as during laundering. The connector comprises male and female elements connectible temporarily to related garments such as a pair of hose, each element being provided with a simple attachment device, and the two elements are interconnected by fitting a tongue-like part on one element into a cavity in the other element. Cooperative parts of the elements provide a detent function operative normally to prevent withdrawal of the tongue from the cavity but yieldable to manual force to separate the cooperative detent portions as to enable such withdrawal.

Abstract: A press fastener comprising a plug body connecting with a slotted body. The plug body contains an elastic tongue part for extending into the slotted body. The tongue part contains a climbing angle positioned at the end thereof to hook the plug body to the slotted body when the climbing angle of the tongue part extends along an angled receiving groove of the slotted body, thereby stressing the tongue part, and into a center cavity of the slotted body. The central cavity is of such dimensions to allow a press groove to be supported therein to allow unhooking of the plug body from the slotted body when pressure is exerted thereon.

Abstract: A device for mounting the attachment part of an element, for instance a button, buckle, clamp, etc., into an opening, preferably a slot shaped opening of the button hole type in a piece of garment.The attachment part is formed with a neck dimensioned for being tightly encompassed by the opening in the operative position of the neck. A disc shaped fixing member of the attachment part is arranged for being placed inside the opening. An angled slot is formed in the disc shaped fixing member and at the bottom thereof there is a distance across the fixing member which is to an external end point of said member at a maximum equal to the length of the opening, between the area of contact of the bottom against the edge of the opening and the area where the external end point passes the opening.

Abstract: A disc cartridge for containing therein an information recording disc, such as a video disc, has a detachable lid which is engaged with an opening of said cartridge. The lid has a pair of engaging means which are integrally formed with the lid body by a synthetic resin. Each of the engaging means comprises a curved lock arm having a projection to be received in a recess made in a cartridge body, and is connected to the end of the lid body at its one end. A plurality of leaf spring elements constitute a zigzag-shaped spring member which is interposed between one end of the lid body and the lock arm. Some of the leaf spring elements have thin and thick portions so that stress applied thereto will be dispersed. In one embodiment, the dimension of the thick portions is selected so that the thick portion abuts against an adjacent leaf spring when the zigzag-shaped spring member is compressed.

Abstract: A fastener for detachably fastening first and second workpieces together is disclosed. The first workpiece has a through aperture of predetermined shape. The second workpiece has a through aperture of predetermined shape which includes a first small diameter portion having first opposed edges spaced apart a first predetermined distance and a second annularly displaced portion having second opposed edges spaced apart a second, relatively larger predetermined distance. The fastener comprises a base, a first catch portion integral with and extending outwardly from a first side of the base, a second catch portion integral with and extending outwardly from the base oppositely from the first catch portion, and a twistable stem integral with the base for enabling at least one of the first and second catch portions to be twisted for angularly spacing such catch portion for disengagement of the fastener from the aperture of at least one of the first and second workpieces with which such catch portion is engaged.
