A mode device is in data communication with the processor to cause the processor to alter between a recording mode in which the processor is controlled by recording programming in the processor and a playback mode in which the processor is controlled by playback programming in the processor. The recording programming causes the processor to actuate the microphone and store audio data input through the microphone in the electronic memory device to correspond to a selected page. The playback programming causes the processor to actuate the speaker to present the stored audio data corresponding to a selected page.

Abstract: An improved structure for book cover includes a cover layer, a left positioning plate and a right positioning plate, wherein the left and the right positioning plates are disposed above the cover layer and the edges of the cover layer can be folded inwardly for being adhered or stitched at the edges of the left and the right positioning plates, and the left and the right positioning plates respectively have a protruded left binding portion and a protruded right binding portion which both have plural holes corresponding to each other for fixing loose leaf papers between the left and the right positioning plates directly by a spiral so as to form a book. Through the improved structure of book cover in the present invention, the manufacturing process can be simplified and the cost of labor and material can be saved.

The contact means comprise one or more conductive surfaces and are arranged, upon opening of the book to a spread, to contact one of a plurality of combinations of one or more of the conductive paths. Each of the plurality of combinations is in a predetermined unique association with a respective single spread of the book. From the processed signals, the processing means are able to determine the particular combination of conductive paths contacted by the contact means and identify to which spread the book is open.

Abstract: Aspects of the present invention provide a style guide, formatting methods, and electronic/digital versions for quick reference handbooks (QRH) for mobile platforms. Using one or more of the style guide and formatting methods to create quick reference handbooks can provide improvements in safety through error and workload reduction during non-normal situations, improvements in operator understanding of checklists and information contained in the checklists, reduced customer changes needed to create an airline quick reference handbook, reduced documentation maintenance costs, and/or reduced training costs through standardized format and content.

The outer surface of the window may be substantially flush with the outer surface of the binder. At least one tab may be located behind the window which enables a user to load a label and holds the label such that it is viewable through the window.

Abstract: An expandable business card is described that includes a first foldable page and a second foldable page. The first foldable page has a detachable business card. The second foldable page is connected to a booklet. The first page and second page are interconnected and slidingly engaged. When in a first folded position, the booklet is concealed within the perimeter of the expandable business card. When the expandable business card is opened in the second position, the booklet can expand to a predetermined size to provide an additional area for promotional information. The first page includes a projection that is not visible in the first folded position but then extends for viewing in the second open position.

Abstract: A kit is provided that assists a customer to produce a pocket-sized, disposable photo album. The kit generally has some paper that has been perforated and scored into a grid of wallet-sized rectangles, some adhesives, and instructions for use. A customer prints wallet-sized photos onto the paper within the wallet-sized rectangles. The customer then tears along the perforation lines to create strips of rectangles, and tapes the strips together end-to-end. Lastly, the customer folds the rectangles along the score lines in an accordion-like fashion to create an expandable album that is easily shared. The resulting “album” can be carried in most any pocket and displayed at a moment's notice. This type of album is particularly useful to people who carry wallets instead of purses, but would otherwise like to share photos.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include personalized books as well as methods and kits for providing personalized books. One method includes, providing an adult with a list of interview information to be obtained from a child; providing the adult with a list of particular drawings to be obtained from the child; obtaining the interview information from the child in the form of a number of personal comments provided by the child; obtaining a-number of drawings from the list of particular drawings, the number of drawings independently created by the child at the direction of the adult; and creating a personalized book by combining the obtained number of drawings created by the child and the obtained number of personal comments in a particular arrangement.

Abstract: A binder arrangement that has a plurality of covers hingably connected to a spine that spaces apart each cover such that each cover can carry a binder and be closed one on top of the other without either binder interfering with each other or case closure. Each binder includes a hold down page that is releasably attached by a hold down page latch that accommodates the binder holding contents having different thicknesses. In a preferred embodiment, the hold down page latch comprises a hook and loop fastener that has a loop strip fixed to a latch strap and a hook strip that is fixed to the hold down page. To increase the number of opening and closing cycles the binder arrangement can endure, the binder arrangement has sidewalls joined by a fastening arrangement that is resiliently anchored at one end to the spine, preferably by an elastomeric connector. In one preferred embodiment, the fastening arrangement is a zipper that is resiliently anchored at its zipper bottom stop by a piece of elastic fabric.

Abstract: A flexible, preferably elastic empanelled book cover (12) that has pocket portions (25) to receive the covers of a book (10) that is inserted therein. The cover (12) consists of a unitary hexagonal sheet of pliable material such as “SPANDEX”, having extended upper and lower edges, with each edge bisected by a slot (32) of predetermined width that extends orthogonally. Fold lines (34, 36 and 38) form a laterally-extended rectangle, with the side fold lines (38) forming the lateral apices of the hexagon two triangular flap portions (20) of the cover pockets. The in-folded upper and lower flap portions of the hexagon are attached to each other and to the triangular side flap portions, to form the pocket portion (25), with lock stitching (27) at the innermost juncture by the spine opening. A central top and bottom fold-over engages the spine of the book in stabilizing relation. The unitary hexagonal blanks can be economically mass produced from roll material (40).

One or more windows are defined in the template sheet which allows a user to write therethrough onto a journaling sheet. Each of the roller units include a ball-retaining cavity which extends upwards within the roller support body and a generally spherical roller ball rotatably mounted there within, and a roller ball retention device rotatably retains the roller ball within the ball-retaining cavity with a lower portion of the roller ball extending below the base wall of the roller support body such that the roller support body is rollably supported on the roller ball. A main book support strut is mounted on and extends from the roller support body. At least two book pages are bound together via a book binding in a book format, and pages are mounted on the main book support strut on the roller support body.

Abstract: A memo pad includes a stack of memo sheets, each memo sheet including an inscribing portion, a pair of supporting portions, a pair of adhering portions, and a pair of adhesive layers. The adhesive layers are applied to the bottom side of the adhering portions such that an upper one of the memo sheets is adhered releasably to a lower one in the stack. When a memo sheet is removed from the memo pad, and the adhesive layers are used to attach the adhering portions to a supporting surface, the supporting portions are disposed to support the inscribing portion such that the inscribing portion is raised relative to the supporting surface, thereby configuring the memo sheet to present a three-dimensional appearance.

The system comprises a box, a scrapbook album and an elongated timeline sheet comprising a plurality of writeable pages, each page defined in part by at least one fold that joins to a successive page and each page comprising a portion of a timeline comprising a chart and a banner. Abstract: A book having a movable mechanical device having a plurality of positions. A light sensor is positioned in optical communication with at least one position of the mechanical device, such that a movement of the mechanical device is able to change a light level reaching the light sensor. An event generator is electronically coupled to the light sensor. The event generator is able to receive from the light sensor a signal corresponding to the changed light level, and generate an event responsive to the signal.

These elements allow the books to be linked side-by-side. A collection of books can be offered as a set, with a separate book for substantially each of the letters of the alphabet. Abstract: An improved pocket-sized book capable of one-handed manipulation. The book has informational pages among which a user may navigate by using only the hand holding the book. The book has finger slots for receiving the fingers of a user and a thumb restraint for securing the thumb and thumb mass to prevent both from interfering with either the turning of the pages or the user's view of the information printed thereon. By placing his or her finger on one of the tabs and providing an upward rotational force on the book, a user is able to open the book to the desired section and view the information printed on the pages therein. A guard attached to the side of the book blocks the lateral movement of the pages so that the pages do not become askew.

Abstract: A hardbound book corner protector including a back plate with two intersecting edges; a front guard also including two intersecting edges; and a brace connecting the two intersecting edges of the back plate with the two intersecting edges of the front guard to form a pocket or sleeve to receive a corner of a hardbound book. The back plate has a greater surface area than the front guard. A third edge of the triangular front guard may include an arcuate segment. The corner may be reinforced to provide added strength to the corner protector. The interior surfaces of the back plate and the front guard include a smooth texture so that the corner protector may be adhered to the corner of a hardbound book such that the back plate is adhered to the inside cover and the front guard is adhered to the outside cover.

Abstract: An apparatus for securely holding and protecting a layout of elements includes a portfolio having a first cover and a first overlay. The first overlay and the first cover are releasably cohered together, preferably utilizing magnetic forces. A loose arrangement of elements can be secured to a work surface of the first cover using the first overlay for safe storage and transport. The apparatus is used in rubber stamping design, stained-glass design, and quilting design.
