Article Carrier Gripped And Carried By Hand Patents (Class 294/137)
  • Patent number: 6719342
Abstract: A grasping auxiliary for carrying an article or articles includes a tubular body 2. Each of opposite side ends 6a and 6b of the tubular body 2 with longitudinal notch 3 provided therebetween is formed into a curved-face shape having no corner to facilitate the fitting of a grip portion 5 of an article receptacle such as a film bag into the tubular body 2 and to moderate the pressure contact of the opposite side ends 6a and 6b with a hand. A plurality of wrinkles are formed on an inner peripheral surface of the tubular body 2 for preventing the sliding movement of the grip portion 5 within the tabular body 2.

  • Patent number: 6666479
Abstract: A scabbard for receiving a blade of an ice skate. The scabbard has a pouch with a top opening for receiving the blade of the ice skate and is constructed from various material layers to protect a user from being cut by the sharp edges of the blade when the ice skate is carried and to protect the blade when the ice skate is being stored. In addition to preventing puncture of the pouch, a friction enhancing material is disposed on an outer portion of flexible material of the pouch along a bottom of the pouch and extending from a first end to a second end of the pouch, which also allows a skater to safely walk with the scabbard attached about the blade. The pouch has a drawstring means for adjustably fitting the pouch, about the blade of the ice skate. This permits the scabbard to be used on various sizes of ice skates without modification.

  • Patent number: 6354645
Abstract: The handle of the present invention is formed from a sheet of pliable material having a periphery with two opposed convex edges separated by two opposed concave edges. Two parallel fold-lines join the concave edges. When the sheet is folded, the body forms symmetrical walls that are fastened together using a tab, located on the edge of one symmetrical walls of the handle, and a groove formed on the edge of the second symmetrical wall of the handle, for receiving the tab. In its folded state, the handle resembles a taco shell with a bite taken from each end. The bite resemblance is formed by the two opposing concave edges and help to limit the length of the flat base formed by the space between the parallel fold lines. A correct base length allows the bag handles to naturally droop from the weight of the contents, so that the taut bag handles do not cut through the pliable body material or weaken the base.

  • Patent number: 5615921
Abstract: The present invention features a shopping bag handle that is ergonomically designed for easily carrying heavily-ladened shopping bags. The handle is substantially straight with a slight convex arc along its underside. The convex arc along the mid-section of the handle provides an ergonomic effect that conforms to the grip of a hand. An eye-loop is located on each distal end of the carrying handle. The loops of the shopping bag are easily threaded onto the eye-loops because of the downwardly-facing geometry of the latter. The central axis of the handle passes substantially through the contact points between the respective eye-loops of the handle and the loops of the shopping bag, thus reducing the moment of inertia between the middle portion of the handle and its distal ends. This reduced moment of inertia provides for a more stable carrying handle, substantially eliminating the tendency of a shopping bag to sway or rock about the handle.

The side members are spaced apart and arranged in mutually facing relation, creating an open volume therebetween in which firewood or similar articles may be stacked and carried. The bottom and the side members are generally rigid, whereby the carrier may be stood upright for charging, transport, storage and discharging. The bottom and side members are preferably formed integrally with one another, such as by injection molding, to create a strong, rigid, unitary structure. The handle, preferably made of a stiff wire, is added after fabrication of the bottom and side members. The handle can be pivoted on the side members or locked into an upright position.

  • Patent number: 5516175
Abstract: A bag carrier useful for transporting at least one bag which includes a loop handle. The carrier includes a shaft for supporting the loop handle when the handle is disposed about the shaft, and at least one handle member disposed on and co-axial with the shaft. The handle may be formed integral with the shaft or may be attached thereto such as through the use of adhesive or by press-fitting the handles onto the shaft. The handles are made from compressible material, such as foam, which functions to minimize the discomfort associated with carrying the bags. The bag carrier may be manufactured by first forming the shaft with the desired cross-section. At least one handle is then formed with an outer cross-sectional dimension larger than that of the shaft. The handle is slid over the shaft to complete the carrier. A coating may be applied to the handle or the shaft to operate as a means for identifying or advertising. The handles may be configured in a shape which will further assist in advertising.

  • Patent number: 5487581
Abstract: Articles, such as a bag, may be more comfortably and securely carried by a hand grip which hooks a strand of the article, such as a strap of a bag. The hand grip is comprised of a body in which a hand hole is defined. The lower portion of the body forms a hook for grasping or hooking the strap of the article. The hand hole is contoured to provide a comfortable, noncutting surface for the user's hand, fingers or palm. The hook is formed with a wider mouth than throat so that the strap is easily placed in the hook and only somewhat less easily dislodged from the hook thereby increasing the degree of security by which the article is carried. The hand grip may be formed as a planar piece in which the hook extends to the side in the same plane as the hand hole or may be provided with one or more hooks which extend in directions out of the plane defined by the hand hole.

  • Patent number: 5441323
Abstract: A carrier 20 and method for carrying bags having carrying straps wherein a tongue 32 guides the carrying straps 100 into the carrier 20. A recess 46 limits any shifting motion of the carrying straps 100 within the carrier 20 and is positioned along the centerline of the forearm of the user. The handle 40 of the carrier tilts downward 14.degree. in use to match the natural angle of the curved fingers grasping the carrier and together with the positioning of the recess allows the bags or other articles to be comfortably aligned with the centerline of the forearm with a minimum of flexing of the wrist. A ring-shaped clasp 30 locks the carrying straps 100 within the carrier 20.
