Abstract: Provided is an electronic device capable of suitably determining whether a user is moving or stationary. The electronic device includes a speed acquisition unit that acquires a user's moving speed and a processor that determines whether the user is in a moving state or in a pause state. In the moving state, the processor determines that a transition from the moving state to the pause state has occurred in the case where the moving speed acquired by the speed acquisition unit is less than the pause speed threshold. In the pause state, the processor determines that a transition from the pause state to the moving state has occurred in the case where the moving speed acquired by the speed acquisition unit is equal to or more than the moving speed threshold.

Abstract: This disclosure describes methods, non-transitory computer readable storage media, and systems that utilize color density estimation in a blended boundary region of a digital image to generate an image mask. For example, the disclosed system extracts a foreground region, a background region, and a blended boundary region from a digital image. The disclosed system determines a color histogram—within a color space selected utilizing the foreground region and the background region—for a portion of the background region along an edge of the blended boundary region. Additionally, the disclosed system generates a color density map for the blended boundary region by comparing colors in the blended boundary region to colors in the color histogram of the background band. The disclosed system then generates a final mask for the digital image based on the color density map.

Abstract: Digital image editors provide tools to modify or manipulate a digital image. For animation, video, etc. this manipulation and/or modification must be undertaken over a portion of the digital content's duration. This can represent tens, hundreds, thousands of equivalent images (i.e. each frame) to be modified and/or manipulated. The invention provides digital tools allowing effects, e.g. a manipulation and/or modification, from relatively simple transitions through to highly complex transitions, to be defined and then added to digital content. Further, these digital tools can be independent of considerations of the underlying content such that an effect designed with these digital tools may be applied over a still image, video content, animation etc. without requiring the user to define frames within the digital content etc.

Abstract: The present invention allows for display of an image generated from HDR video data on an LDR monitor in good condition. Applying a predetermined level-mapping curve to the input video data (HDR video data) in a first range of levels provides the video data for transmission (LDR video data) in a second range of levels narrower than the first range of levels. The video data for transmission is transmitted together with the auxiliary information used to convert the levels on the receiving end.

On the basis of each frame image of a moving image, a time during which a projection image of each frame image of the moving image is viewable by a user is controlled. For example, a controller controls the time during which the projection image is viewable by the user, to cause a difference between the moving image and the projection image due to a reduction in a luminance and a difference between the moving image and the projection image, which increases due to an increase in the time during which the projection image is viewable by the user, to be suppressed.
