The present invention discloses also a network printing device and the corresponding printing method and system.

Abstract: In an operation unit, a display panel displays a two-sided copy setting screen image including a still image display area on which a plurality of software keys (two-sided copy setting keys) corresponding to respective ones of a plurality of processes (one-sided/one-sided copy process, one-sided/two-sided copy process, two-sided/two-sided copy process and two-sided/one-sided copy process), for selecting any of the plurality of processes, are displayed. A touch-panel receives an input operation to the plurality of software keys. In response to the touch-panel receiving the input operation, a CPU displays, on a movie display area different from the still image display area of the two-sided copy setting screen image, an image representing contents of the selected process in a prescribed state.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus according to the present invention includes a storage unit configured to store in advance configuration data, for each plurality of the functional blocks, for configuring the functional blocks in the reconfigurable circuit. Upon accepting a user operation indicating a job to be executed via an operation unit, the image processing apparatus reconfigures the reconfigurable circuit by reading required configuration data from the storage unit before a start instruction to start the job is accepted.

Abstract: A scoring and weighting system and method for providing print device selection on the basis of product characteristics that are specified for a print product is provided. The system determines the properties of one or more printing devices in relation to the product characteristics. The printing devices have one or more print mediums for providing the print product. A score is derived by determining a status respecting the conformity of the one or more print mediums to the product characteristics and evaluating the one or more printing devices' properties. Associating that score with each of the one or more printing device. Also, associating the print product with a print job and utilizing the score to route the print job to one of the one or more printing devices to produce the print product on one of the one or more print mediums.

Abstract: A method for minimizing power consumption of a laser printer includes receiving page description language (PDL) data corresponding to a printing task, identifying commands corresponding to the received PDL data, computing a total predicted rendering time corresponding to the identified commands, computing a print deferral time according to the total predicted rendering time wherein the print deferral time corresponds to an amount of time by which printing drum initialization can be deferred without delaying completion of the printing task, and configuring a printing drum to begin operation according to the print deferral time. A computer program product and computer system corresponding to the method are also disclosed.

Abstract: Aspects describe herein facilitate specification of a desired data format for bar code data to be presented by an indicia reading apparatus. Bar code data decoded from an image of a bar code is obtained and displayed. A user input field is provided and based on input by the user to the user input field, the user input field is populated with a representation of the desired data format for the bar code data. Based on the representation of the desired data format populated in the user input field, configuration settings are determined for configuring the indicia reading apparatus to present bar code data in the desired data format.

Based upon identification data and location data received from a user device, a primary cloud print service determines the best document processing device for output of a document. The primary cloud print service uses trusted relationships with other cloud print services, established via secure sharing of information, to allow for transparent printing across clouds to any device registered by the user or available and proximate to the user's location.

A PDF-to-postscript conversion module generates and stores in a common data structure in the shared memory a request for security data for the PDF print data. A policy client module retrieves the request from the common data structure in the shared memory, obtains security data for the PDF print data from a policy server, and stores the security data in the common data structure in the shared memory. The PDF-to-postscript conversion module uses the security data to decrypt the PDF print data and then converts the decrypted PDF print data into postscript data for printing by the printing device.

An embodiment operates by retrieving column-oriented data of a column-oriented database associated with an auditing request to access the column-oriented data. The column-oriented data is transformed into corresponding row-oriented data and stored in a row-oriented database independent of the column-oriented database. A response to the auditing request is processed based on the row-oriented data, wherein the processing is performed independent of the column-oriented database, and the response is provided to the auditing request.

Such color conversion includes gamut mapping by determining a color gamut of an imaging device and receiving color data having color values external to the color gamut of the imaging device. The gamut mapping proceeds by determining a color region external to the color gamut and mapping the color values within the color region to the color gamut. Thereafter, the area of the color region is increased and the color values within the increased color region are mapped to the color gamut.

Abstract: A method of managing a print job is disclosed, the method includes receiving a print job on an image forming apparatus; calculating an estimated processing time and an estimated delay to print time for each page of the print job; processing each page of the print job when the estimated processing time for a page of the print job and the estimated delay to print time for the page of the print job are equal; sending each of the processed pages of the print job to a print engine associated with the image forming apparatus for printing; and printing each of the pages of the print job on the image forming apparatus upon receipt by the print engine.
