  • Patent number: 10523564
Abstract: A rule indicates that data having particular characteristics be automatically routed to a particular destination. When software on a switching device detects a new data stream, it is analyzed to determine whether it has characteristics specified by the rule. If it does, the packet is encapsulated with a special tag, indicating that the packet should be routed to the new destination. Also, an entry is added to a quick-lookup table in the switching device. The entry indicates that future packets in the data stream that have the same source and destination port and address should also be routed to the new destination.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus according to the present disclosure includes a communication unit that can connect to a plurality of networks including a first network, a storage unit that stores priority level information indicating priority levels of the plurality of networks, and a processor. When the communication unit is connected to the first network, the processor decides a next connection destination candidate on the basis of the priority level information, checks whether an operation requiring continuous connection between the communication unit and any one of the plurality of networks is being executed, and checks whether a virtual network has been established. If the operation is being executed and a virtual network has been established, the processor switches the connection destination of the communication unit from the first network to the next connection destination candidate.

Abstract: Provided are methods and systems for graceful scaling of data networks. In one example, an indication of removal of a node from a plurality of nodes of the data network is received. A service policy is generated to reassign service requests associated with the node to another node in the plurality of nodes. The service policy is then sent to each of the plurality of nodes of the data network. To scale out a data network, an indication of presence of a further node in the data network is received, and a further node service policy is generated and sent to each of the plurality of nodes of the data network and to the further node. Additional actions can be taken in order to prevent interruption of an existing heavy-duty connection while scaling the data network.

In response to a request from the additional communications device, the apparatus may modify portions of the aggregated data in an effort to mitigate the data outlier.

Abstract: Described are techniques for maintaining and using registration and reservation information in an active-active configuration that provides automated data replication of a logical device. Various commands may be issued from one or more hosts to read and modify registration and reservation information in the active-active configuration. Processing is performed to service the various commands and provide a host or client with a consolidated logical view of a data storage system including the logical device where the host is allowed to issue I/Os over multiple paths to the logical device. Depending on the command, such processing may include replicating or mirroring reservation state information between two data storage systems each including a different device configured as the logical device.

Abstract: A communication device capable of detecting transmission of an improper message to a network. A CAN controller in the gateway transmits and receives a message attached with a priority level (ID) to/from an ECU through a communication line, and counts, by the consecutive block number counter, the number of transmitted messages that are consecutively blocked as a result of arbitration processing as the number of consecutive blocks and stores the number as the number of allowed blocks into an allowed block number table in the storage unit in association with a priority level attached to the message received at the communication line. Every time a message is received, the controller compares the number of consecutive blocks with the number of allowed blocks for this message, and detects abnormality if the number of consecutive blocks is larger than the number of allowed blocks.

Abstract: According to embodiments of the present invention, the energy consumption assessment is done by identifying the benchmark production processes or enterprises. First, a process similarity between a target production process and a candidate production process is determined based on energy consumption units (ECUs) involved in the target production process and the candidate production process. In response to the process similarity being greater than a first threshold, an energy consumption similarity between the target production process and the candidate production process is determined based on a factor that has influence on energy consumption of at least one of the ECUs. In response to the energy consumption similarity being greater than a second threshold, the candidate production process is identified as a benchmark for assessing energy consumption of the target production process.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for optimizing power consumption in mobile devices. The system comprises a speech codec encoder module and a speech codec decoder module. The number of CPU/DSP/VLIW processor cycles taken to encode and decode the speech signals are significantly reduced to draw lower current by the mobile device. The significant reduction of processor cycles in the speech codec modules enables reduction of power consumption in the talk time. Thus, the invention provides a simple method of optimizing power consumption by reducing number of processor cycles to compress/decompress speech signal of the speech codec modules in mobile devices.

Abstract: The techniques may provide a hierarchical scheduler for dynamically computing rate credits when a plurality of queues share an intermediate node. For example, the hierarchical scheduler may group respective sets of queues with respective virtual subscribers to be associated with a shared intermediate node. The weight used by the shared intermediate node may be computed as a function of the number of virtual subscriber child members of the shared intermediate node and their respective weights to correctly proportion the services to the queues. The techniques may also provide a hierarchical scheduler for dynamically computing rate credits allocated to queues associated with a shared intermediate node. For example, the number of rate credits allocated to a queue for a virtual subscriber is based on the product of the virtual subscriber weight and a queue weighted fraction of the queues for the virtual subscriber.

  • Patent number: 10367609
Abstract: As many applications, such as wireless headsets used with cellular phones, require mostly error free data to accurately reproduce a telephone conversation, uncorrected erroneous data packets may impact a perceived quality of a given application. The error correction techniques of the present disclosure promote error-correction in communication systems that lack FEC with respect to one or more portions of a data packet. The techniques therefore provide error correction for the entire packet, including those portions not protected by any imbedded error correction mechanism. As a result, data communications over noisy communication mediums may be improved as the techniques may reduce bit error rates, and increase the sensitivity of the receiving device such that the transmission power of a data packet may be reduced. For voice packets or other streaming data packets, the techniques promote improved audio quality over systems that do not employ the techniques described in the present disclosure.
