Abstract: A material dispensing brush, such as a veterinary brush, in which material to be dispensed, such as flea powder, is contained in the brush body and is either automatically or manually releasable through hollow brush bristles.

Abstract: A disposable toothbrush having a quantity of self-contained dentrifice, mouthwash, and dental floss. The dentrifice is contained in a pliable receptacle, which communicates with a hollow passage located in the bristle end of the toothbrush, the hollow passage including a plurality of orifices terminating at the bed of the bristles, whereby upon squeezing the pliable receptacle, the dentrifice is distributed through the hollow passage and into the bed of the toothbrushing bristles. The self-contained mouthwash container is affixed adjacent the handle portion of the apparatus, whereby upon compressing the pliable container, the mouthwash can be utilized. When removed from the main body of the toothbrush the mouthwash may be used and discarded after same. The dental floss is stored within a compartment along the upper portion of the main body of the toothbrush and may be readily removed for use and also discarded after same.

Abstract: A disposable toothbrush comprises a toothbrush body having bristles, and a toothbrush back containing a dose of toothpaste. The toothpaste is isolated from the bristles by a protective film. A safety cap retains the toothbrush back separate from the toothbrugh body. Removal of the cap allows the back to approach the body, which causes tearing of the protective film and distribution of the toothpaste onto the bristles.

Abstract: In a liquid applicator provided with a fixing member for retaining a liquid-application member having a fixing flange at its rear end, the liquid-application member and the fixing member are assembled to form an assembly which is mounted inside a front shaft of the liquid applicator through a snap-in packing. Since the fixing member is provided with a resilient clipping-plate portion for compensating any variation of the thickness of the fixing flange of the liquid-application member, assembling of the assembly and the front shaft can be easily conducted in the liquid applicator.

Abstract: Disclosed is an interdental tooth cleaning appliance for use in cleaning a space formed between adjacent teeth. In order to clean more effectively as compared with a known appliance, the cross-sectional shape of the bristles as seen in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the brush is such as to provide three circumferentially spaced groups of bristles which are longer than the remaining bristles. The interdental tooth cleaning appliance of this invention is provided with a guide which makes it a more convenient one. It also has a device for injecting a liquid medicine.

Abstract: A brush and scraper attachment for a hand-held auxiliary sprayer associated with a kitchen faucet. The brush attachment fits over the nozzle end of the sprayer while the scraper is received within the brush attachment. A seal ring seated within the fluid passageway of the brush provides a sealing engagement between the brush and sprayer to prevent back flow particularly upon attachment of the scraper. The scraper attachment includes a restricted flow passage which supplies water to the scraper blade.

Abstract: A package for oral contraceptives that has the outward appearance of a hair brush. A first compartment serves as a pill storage compartment; it retains a three week supply of pills of the type that are individually packaged under a flexible bubble and collectively mounted on a frangible support surface. The floor of the first compartment is apertured and each aperture is pill-sized and positioned in registration with a pill under a bubble. A closure member such as a hinged lid masks the presence of the pill-storage compartment, but when the lid is open and a bubble is pressed against, the frangible support surface for the pill breaks and allows the pill to fall into a second compartment with an imperforate bottom. The second compartment is enclosed on three sides but open on a fourth so that a pill driven through its frangible support surface may be retrieved from such second compartment by tilting the brush.

Abstract: A brush for use in a self service car wash having an applicator head containing cleaning bristles and an elongated tubular handle adapted to bring wash fluids to the head. A relief valve is positioned in the handle which is designed to open when the fluid pressure in the handle exceeds a given value. A control valve is located between the relief valve and automatic fluid dispensing equipment for delivering fluids to the brush during a wash cycle. A bypass is provided in the control valve that permits water to drain into the handle when the control valve is closed, as for example between wash cycles. Pressure thus builds up in the handle behind the relief valve whereupon the valve periodically opens to relieve the pressure.

Abstract: A washing brush contains a brush body with a central opening, that engages a cylindrical projection, which is positioned in the vicinity of the edge of a cover. The cover is in one piece with a gripping member, which can be connected to a water-carrying member.In the center of the cover and the brush body is provided an annular locking member, which passes through the cover within the liquid-carrying area in the form of a push button. By depressing the push button, it is possible to release the angular locking member between the gripping member and the brush body.

Abstract: An integrated soap bar and brush. The brush constitutes one side of the integrated assembly while the bar of soap is supported on a top side of the brush to provide a reversible soap bar or brush. The soap bar is molded in situ around a specially constructed ribbed insert having a floor plate or base which can be readily affixed to the top side of the brush. The ribbed insert supports the soap bar during shrinkage to prevent removal until substantially used up. After such use-up, the insert may be used as a handle or it may be removed and the brush may be used alone.

Abstract: A flexible lubricant applicator for forcibly applying a desired quantity of a lubricant material (such as carbon particles usually of the graphite type, particles of the Teflon type, polytetrafluoroethylene material, or the functional equivalent) to a workpiece surface which is harder than the lubricant material and usually comprising a metallic workpiece surface.

Abstract: A flea catcher having a housing with an open front and a guard is disclosed. The housing has a fine toothed comb extending forwardly from the bottom thereof with a cylindrical brush mounted for rotation atop the comb ahead of a soft absorbent material such as a sponge adapted for impregnation with an insecticide. The brush is resiliently mounted for self adjustment to accommodate thin or thick hair.

Abstract: A paint applicator having an essentially cylindrical paint container serving as a handle and formed of a resilient material, a threaded cap closing the container, a paint applicating head and a conduit connecting the applicating head to the paint container. The applicating head includes a metal plate affixed to the conduit and having an opening for the supply of paint, a layer of sponge-like material overlying the plate, a porous layer having a nap on one surface overlying the sponge-like material and a paint impervious layer covering at least the top edge of the sponge-like material.

Abstract: A device for applying liquid agents by synthetic bristles which, combined into bundles, are fixed on a plastic supporting base, with the supporting base being thin-walled and having several openings at least one of which is surrounded by a bundle of bristles. The bristles are butt-welded onto the supporting base, with the bristles leaving open a cross section of the opening and forming a duct tapering off toward the bristle ends, which duct leads or supplies the agent into a working area of the device.

Abstract: A disposable dental package is provided and consists of a device for dispensing toothpaste from a packet into bristles of a toothbrush after the toothbrush and the packet are removed from a sanitary wrapper.

Abstract: A toothpaste applicator comprises an applicator head formed on one end of a drinking straw. The head preferably comprises a pair of wing-shaped portions adapted to retain toothpaste, with a removable cover strip. The head may be textured on its convex and/or concave surfaces for effecting a brushing action in use.

Abstract: An apparatus for applying color to hair includes a color-applying comb having several teeth which are substantially triangularly shaped in a top view, are arranged on a comb back, are spaced by relatively large distances, and are tapered toward their tips. The gaps which lie between the teeth are substantially triangularly shaped in a top view and taper toward the comb back. Each tooth has in its enlarged part and in the vicinity of the comb back a color chamber, and has a narrow slot which extends perpendicular to the comb back from the tooth tip into the color chamber.

Abstract: A toothbrush is made of molded plastic and has a handle which is largely hollow with an open wall and transverse ribs providing structural rigidity and defining compartments. Pre-packaged dentifrice packages are received in the compartments and have peel-off covers secured to the packages and severable from each other and the container to permit individual removal of packages from the handle while, at the same time, preserving the integrity of the remaining packages and the sealing of the compartments in which the packages are received.

Abstract: A base assembly is provided for support from a suitable support surface and the base assembly includes a raised central portion spaced inwardly of the outer peripheral portions of the base assembly and provided with horizontally spaced apart tufts of upstanding bristles supported therefrom. The upper ends of the tufts may be used to support a bar of soap therefrom and the base assembly includes three superposed panel members each including peripherally spaced petal defining marginal portions. The lower panel member of the base assembly includes a plurality of the upstanding locking lugs as well as a plurality of upstanding locator pins supported therefrom. The panel members disposed above the lower panel member each include upstanding locator pin receiving openings and locking lug receiving openings form therein upwardly through which the locator pins and the locking lugs are received.

Abstract: A device for flushing, sweeping and scooping debris, snow and ice from roof gutters avoiding the need for climbing on ladders and roofs which in its preferred embodiment includes a means for seeing into said gutters from the ground.

Abstract: A rotary brush for applying paint to surfaces comprises a housing, a rotatable hollow cylindrical body which bears on the cylindrical surface a plurality of brush units, motor means, passage means for supplying paint from a supply channel to the bristles of the brush units, and a number of stationary guide rings mounted rigidly in the housing and guidingly surrounding the rotatable cylindrical body. The guide rings are disposed in zones transverse to the axis of the cylindrical body and distributed over the length of the same. Each ring bears a slidable bearing means adapted for bearing, for instance with a loose wheel at its free end, against the surface to be painted, thus relieving pressure of the bristles on the surface to be painted.

Abstract: The portable apparatus for cementing edges of lengths of sheet material in adherent relationship over a roof comprises a horizontally oriented base structure having contact means at its lower surface for applying pressure upon the sheet material. The base structure has one substantially straight lateral side which is located adjacent and parallel to an imaginary vertical plane. The apparatus includes a brush member for applying cementing fluid underneath an edge of sheet material. The bristles of the brush member are at an angle of between about 90.degree. and 140.degree. with respect to the main body of the ferrule in which the heel end of the bristles are retained. A ferrule holder holds the main body of the ferrule of the brush member in vertical orientation next to the aforenoted imaginary vertical plane at a location forwardly beyond the leading edge of the base structure, with the bristles of the brush member extending away from the imaginary vertical plane.

Abstract: A disposable toothbrush molded from a flexible plastic material and having a brush head carried at one end of a handle. The brush head has a paste-holding cavity and a plurality of hollow bristles molded in and extending from one side of the brush head such that the interiors of the hollow bristles communicate with the paste-holding cavity. A sealing film which functions to maintain the paste within the cavity is punctured upon manual compression of the brush head, such that paste may be squeezed through the hollow bristles to the top end thereof for use. In the second embodiment of the invention the bristle head is disclosed as being separable from the handle.

Abstract: A toothbrush having a removable brush which includes dentifrice applied to the bristles of the brush. An elongated base is removably mounted to one end of a toothbrush handle. The handle may be disposable and reusable. A plurality of upstanding straight flexible bristles extend upright from the top surface of the base and are arranged in a plurality of spaced apart rows. A plurality of flexible loop-configured bristles are fixedly mounted to the base and extend upwardly from the top surface thereof being arranged in lines interspaced between the rows of straight bristles. Each loop-configured bristle defines and encloses an area in which dentifrice is positioned. In one embodiment, adhesive is provided to secure the base to the handle whereas in another configuration, a pair of opposed clips mounted to the handle are removably engaged with the opposite ends of the base.
