Abstract: The presently disclosed embodiments are directed to anticurl back coatings useful in electrostatography. More particularly, the embodiments pertain to an electrophotographic imaging member with an improved anticurl back coating formulated by a polymer blend comprising two low surface energy polymeric materials that prevents curling, renders surface lubricity, eliminates electrostatic charge buildup, reduces surface contact friction, and enhances abrasion/wear resistance, and a process for making and using the imaging member.

Abstract: A cylindrical base for a photosensitive drum composed of a conductive resin composition containing a resin base material and a conductive material mainly containing carbon black, on which base a solvent-using photosensitive layer is directly formed, is characterized in that the resin base material mainly contains a mixed resin wherein (A) a polyester resin and (B) a polycarbonate resin is blended at a ratio (weight ratio) of (A)/(B)=50/50 to 90/10. The base for a photosensitive drum is excellent in chemical resistance, formability, dimensional accuracy, and adhesion to the photosensitive layer, while being excellent in dimensional stability. A photosensitive drum using such a base exhibits good printing performance and excellent durability.
Abstract: Transparent conductive materials, articles and films are described herein a) that are easily and efficiently produced, b) can be produced prior to application or in situ, c) are easily applied to surfaces and substrates or formed into articles, d) can be produced and used with materials and methods that are generally accepted by the flat panel display (FPD) industry, along with other industries that produce and utilize microelectronics, e) can be tailored to be photoimageable and patternable using accepted photolithography techniques, f) have superior optical properties and have superior film forming properties, including better adhesion to other adjacent layers, the ability to be laid down in very or ultra thin layers and the ability to remain transparent when laid down as thicker layers. Methods of producing and using these transparent conductive materials are also disclosed.

Abstract: There is provided an electrostatic induction conversion device which is small, has high conversion efficiency between electric energy and kinetic energy, and can prevent degradation of an electret. The electret is formed by injecting an electric charge into the vicinity of the surface of an insulating material, is disposed between two conductors, and is constructed so that it moves relatively to at least one of the conductors opposite to the electret and converts between electric energy and kinetic energy. As the insulating material forming the electret, it is preferable to use a polymer having a fluorine-containing aliphatic cyclic structure.

The fluorescent labeled reporter compounds are ring-locked cyanine dyes that are coupled to a nucleotide derivative, such as a modified DNA base, through a linker. These fluorescent labeled reporter compounds can be used as DNA chain-terminators in DNA synthesis to generate DNA fragments that are fluorescently-labeled at the 3?-terminal end of the DNA fragment.

Abstract: An electrophotographic photoreceptor using a non-contact type charging process has a creep value CI? of is 2.70% or more, preferably 3.00% or more, and a Vickers hardness (HV) at its surface of 20?HV?25 in a case where a maximum indenting load of 30 mN is loaded to the surface under a circumstance at a temperature of 25° C. and at a relative humidity of 50%. Since such an electrophotographic photoreceptor is excellent in flexibility and has plasticity not too soft nor exhibiting fragility, the amount of film reduction due to wear is decreased during long time use, excellent surface smoothness is ensured, and there is no occurrence of injury or unevenness in density to the formed images.
