The matchmaking unit communicates with the task definer units to evaluate the task definitions against the task query based on at least one property associated with each task definition and provides at least one of the task definitions to the workflow as offers based on the evaluation.

Abstract: A system for generating a work unit test ahead candidate list. A list is generated of all potential candidate systems for test ahead operations. A system in the potential candidate list is selected. It is determined whether any work unit in the selected system is waiting for short parts. Determining that no work unit in the selected system is waiting for short parts, a complexity score is calculated for each work unit in the selected system. The calculated complexity scores are added to a total system complexity score. It is then determined whether an override exists for a work unit in the selected system. Determining that an override does exist, the selected system is removed from the potential candidate list. A candidate list is generated from remaining systems in the potential candidate list. Then, the candidate list is outputted to provide recommendations for optimizing work unit test ahead operations.

Abstract: A machine-implemented method receives job specifications for at least one direct mail printing job from at least one user and creates at least one workflow related to the direct mail printing job. The workflow comprises at least one job activity. The method automatically transmits requests for bids on the job activities to entities for allowing the entities to bid on performing job activities within the workflow. Bids are received on the job activities from the entities and from rate cards previously established by the entities. The method identifies the lowest bids on an individual job activity-by job activity basis from the bids received from the entities and the rate cards and outputs the lowest bids to the user. The method receives an identification of a single selected entity to perform all activities within the workflow from the user and performing the workflow to output the direct-mail printing job.

Abstract: A method for performing oilfield operations for an oilfield having a subterranean formation with an underground reservoir therein, the oilfield being provided with at least one wellsite with oilfield equipment for extracting fluid from the underground reservoir, involving collecting data comprising trajectory and earth properties associated with a planned well for a geoscience application to obtain a geoscience model, invoking a well planning system integrated with the geoscience application, extracting the trajectory and earth properties from the geoscience model to obtain an extracted trajectory and extracted earth properties, determining at least one parameter for the planned well based on the extracted trajectory and the extracted earth properties, and displaying the at least one parameter associated with the planned well within a geological context of the geoscience application to allow refinement of the planned well for efficient fluid extraction from the underground reservoir.

Abstract: Non-pending tasks having no pending due dates (e.g., past due tasks) are scheduled with pending tasks having pending due dates by first generating a hypothetical schedule and then an actual schedule. The hypothetical schedule is generated by distributing hours to complete pending tasks as evenly as possible over as many days as possible up to respective due dates; then scheduling non-pending tasks during hours normally available for work and which are not distributed to pending tasks; and then recording as quasi due dates for respective non-pending tasks the dates that the respective non-pending tasks would be completed on the hypothetical schedule. The actual schedule is then generated by scheduling non-pending tasks with pending tasks in chronological order, according to pending due dates for pending tasks, and quasi due dates for non-pending tasks.

During operation, the system receives a collection of data from a first business. Next, the system determines if a first node for the first business exists in a social graph, wherein the social graph is a graph-based data model that indicates relationships among various businesses. If not, the system adds the first node for the first business to the social graph. The system then analyzes the collection of data to identify a second business. Next, the system determines if a second node for the second business exists in the social graph. If not, the system adds the second node for the second business to the social graph. Finally, the system adds a relationship between the first node and the second node to the social graph to indicate the relationship between the first business and the second business.

Abstract: Solutions are provided for assessing and consolidating contractor data in an organization from a plurality of data sources. Contractor data from a plurality of data sources is collected, wherein the data sources comprise existing information systems, surveys and interviews. The collected contractor data is segmented using a decision matrix, wherein the decision matrix comprises a plurality of predefined functional units and a plurality of vendors, roles and experience bands. The segmented contractor data is evaluated for its impact on ongoing business activities in the organization, wherein the evaluation of the segmented contractor data comprises performing at least contractor assessment and application assessment. Further, the evaluated contractor data is consolidated to form at least one logical cluster within a plurality of predefined categories, wherein the predefined categories comprise functional unit, application platform, and technology platform and service type and presented to a user.

Abstract: Techniques pertaining to automatically pricing a service involving multiple data points are disclosed. A server including a processing component hosts and manages an application. The application may receive multiple data points from a client computer device over a network connection, the multiple data points comprising pricing proposal data for a service to be provided. Multiple pricing points may be determined including a base cost pricing point. The base cost pricing point may be calculated from the multiple data points and indicative of the minimum cost to provide the service. The application may create an interactive graphical representation of the multiple pricing points. Thereafter, the application may receive input from the client computer device indicative of a target cost savings and calculate a target savings pricing point.

To update the forecast model, additional parameters are added, existing parameters are modified, or parameters are removed from the forecast model to determine a modified total error value. The modified total error value is then compared to the original total error value. The parameters are also converted to normalized values to be in a common unit of measure to facilitate the application of the forecast model to determine a total error value.
