Abstract: The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems, and computer readable media for tracking consumer interactions with products using modular sensor units. In one system, a plurality of weight and motion sensors is configured to track consumer interactions with products. The system further includes a plurality of sensor mounts for holding the sensors in place. Each sensor mount includes signal lines for transmitting power to the sensors and for conducting signals between the sensors and a signal processor. The system further includes a plurality of conductors for interconnecting sensor mounts to a signal processor. The system further includes a plurality of connectors to allow rapid addition and removal of the sensors and their mounts as needed for a particular product planogram.

Abstract: Provided are techniques for summarizing statistical results. Multiple sets of statistical results are received, wherein each of the sets of statistical results are ordered according to interestingness. Insights are generated based on the multiple sets of statistical results. Relationships between the generated insights are identified. An executive summary is generated with a set of findings based on the identified relationships. An interactive visualization is provided with the generated insights based on the executive summary.

Abstract: A method for remote site monitoring includes receiving data from a data site, converting those data into a site-level quality score using a metric risk profile, and calculating a risk indicator based on the site-level quality score. The metric risk profile may be based on historic data and study data, where the study data is received from a plurality of data sites. In some embodiments, converting the data includes normalizing a value of a metric by applying to it the metric risk profile and aggregating the normalized metric values to calculate the site-level quality score. An apparatus for remote site monitoring is also described.

Abstract: A method in a computer system for estimating safety stock levels comprises the steps of receiving as inputs a target customer service level for the business, a time period, and a probability of cancellation for the item. Actual historical time-series demand data and actual historical time-series lead-time data for the item is decomposed to isolate a component attributable primarily to a random variation in a demand for the item and a random variation in a lead-time for the item, respectively. Statistical distributions are then used to generate a random demand and a random lead-time for the item for each of a plurality of time units within the time period and for each time unit within a mean lead-time. A reorder point is iterated until it yields a customer service level that is generally equal to the target customer service level, for computation of the safety stock level.

Abstract: A system and method of managing supply chains across separate organizations. The organizations that supply items to an organization and the organizations that use items supplied by that organization are defined in a consumer/producer hierarchy of three or more layers. Organizations at the first layer supply items to one or more organizations at the second layer while organizations at the second layer supply items to one or more organizations at the third layer, wherein each item may include a product or a service. A supply chain database is created and each organization is given access only to supply chain information within that organization's supply chain.

Abstract: An on-boarding computer system is provided that guides a mobile device user through the capture of visual information that identifies assets or physical objects using a mobile device, and optionally tagging of the visual information. This information is sent to a server computer or cloud service that includes one or more tools for mapping the information to a list of asset/physical object records. The server computer includes one or more automated utilities for performing the mapping processes. If these mapping processes do not meet an identification threshold then, a work ticket is created and assigned to one of a pool of human agents to complete the mapping processes. Related computer implemented methods are also provided.

Abstract: A method is provided for qualifying and analyzing business intelligence. At a first part of a data management system receives first, second and third streams of data. The first stream is client provided source data, the second is public source data and the third is data management system internal data previously collected and managed source data in the data management system. The three streams of data are organized into items and their attributes at the data management system. The source data is transformed at a data warehouse where it becomes normalized. Logic is applied to provide multi-dimensional analysis of transformed source data relative to a scale for at least one business intelligence. The data warehouse includes updated data from the multi-dimensional analysis. A user interface communicates with the data management system to create statistical information that illustrates impact over time and value.

In an example embodiment, a method comprises receiving first data associated with an impact on groundwater pollution or surface water pollution, the impact on the groundwater pollution or the surface water pollution resulting from a production of an agricultural product, the first data being received from a single representative sampling location; receiving second data associated with the impact on the groundwater pollution or surface water pollution, the second data being received from at least one of a plurality of representative sampling locations; generating a benchmark percentage-based result based on the first or second data; calculating comparative data using the benchmark percentage-based result and at least some of the first or second data; and reporting the benchmark percentage-based result and the comparative data to a user.

A proportional value for at least one component part is generated by dividing the market value of the component part by the market value total. A price for the component part is calculated by multiplying the price data set's single combined price by the component part's proportional value.

In one example, users shop for products (e.g., clothing, electronics, or cars) or services (e.g., hotel rooms, plane tickets, or car rentals) using a computing device or mobile device. As the users shop, they view advertisements or perform other tasks, like answering questions, and the system discounts an item's price based on the number or complexity of the performed tasks. Each user who performs a task gets a chance to buy the item at its discounted price. The other users also get a chance to buy the item at the discounted price. If someone buys the item, the item's price returns to its starting value. If nobody buys the item, the system discounts the item's price further as the users perform more tasks until someone buys the item or the item's price reaches a minimum value.

A determination is made that adjusting the first inner pack quantity for the particular store based on the supply difference amount would have less effect on mismatch costs than other stores, and the first inner pack quantity is adjusted for the particular store based on the supply difference.

Second program instructions automatically determine and set a wage, based in part on the estimated wait time, offered to inactive call center personnel to induce them to become active call center personnel to handle calls. Third program instructions, responsive to a request by an inactive call center person to become active at said wage, automatically designate the requesting inactive call center person as active at the wage and assign a call to the requesting inactive call center personnel that was designated as active. Program instructions also set a renewal wage paid to active call center personnel, based in part on the estimated wait time, to induce the active call center personnel to remain active.

Using on-demand trial technology, usage metrics can be automatically generated by tracking the usage of specific products and corresponding duration. Usage metrics and other data are automatically processed to qualify and channel leads to pertinent categories in sales and marketing. The present invention facilitates a more directed effort to investigate leads and makes the information of customers available for follow-up that has higher prospective sales potential. The present invention may also be used to dispatch pre-release reports automatically to a vendor.

An information verification order comprises several and diverse instances of different types of elementary verification/validation/search services. Each of these services is characterized by its own turnaround time (TAT) statistical distribution function which is used in the prediction of order turnaround time. A Monte Carlo algorithm is used to determine the order turnaround time.

Abstract: A system and related methods for the management and evaluation of broker price opinions comprising, a method of determining a standardized score representative of the accuracy and quality of a broker price opinion. Data from the broker price opinion is extracted and evaluated according to a plurality of rules applicable to the type of broker price opinion. Each rule is given a particular weight, and an appraisal score may be calculating by summing each instance of a rule triggered multiplied by the weight assigned to that rule. Weights may be set by experts, or determined by statistical analysis.

In one embodiment, a method includes forming a respondent pool (which can be, 10% of the population), and polling the pool at first time in a roiling period. The method also includes randomly replacing a fraction (20% in some embodiments) of the respondents with respondents who were previously polled more than one rolling period ago. The poll is then repeated and the results compared with the results from about one rolling period before. The population can be small enough that the results tend to exhibit skew and kurtosis. In some embodiments, the skew can be outside of the range of ?0.8 to 0.8 and the kurtosis can be either leptokurtic or platykurtic. The organization taking the poll can have an ongoing relationship with the population. Some embodiments include an order taking system for a merchant (such as a promotional goods merchant) along with a polling system.

A meeting rescheduling logic (MRL) of a server receives a cancellation of a scheduled meeting of an identified contact. The MRL may select a highest priority meeting from a plurality of meetings that has been flagged with an auto-move-up status. The MRL determines if all attendees of the selected meeting are available to attend the meeting at the open time slot of the identified contact's calendar. Upon determining that all attendees of the selected meeting are available at the open time slot, the MRL reschedules the selected meeting at the open time slot, and notifies all attendees. Additionally, the MRL may cancel a lower priority meeting of the attendees to accommodate moving a higher priority meeting into the open time slot.

Abstract: An improved system and method is provided for using sampling for scheduling advertisements in slots of different quality in an online auction with budget and time constraints. A multi-armed bandit engine may be provided for sampling new advertisements by allocating advertisements for web page placements of different quality and optimizing payments to maximize the welfare of the advertisers while remaining within advertiser's budget and time constraints. Advertisers may report their private information including arrival time, departure time, value per click, and budget. And the multi-armed bandit mechanism may approximate the maximal welfare that may be achieved under budget and time constraints by bounding the possible gain from any possible lie an advertiser might submit in reporting private information.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided applicable to all choice scenarios where alternative competition is a function of alternative proximity along some attribute dimension. Discrete choice models can be developed which assign probabilities that a given decision-maker will choose different alternatives. Ordered Generalized Extreme Value (OGEV) and Hybrid-OGEV models are utilized to assess the probability that a given alternative is chosen based on its attributes and the parameter estimates of these attributes (obtained during model estimation). The attribute parameter estimates yield the relative importance of each attribute to a decision-maker. The attribute importance can differ by decision-maker such that different decision-makers can have different parameter estimates for the same attribute.
