The first unit is to detect a poison error. The programmable indicator is to indicate whether the poison error is signaled as a machine check error or as one of a fault and a system management interrupt. The second unit is to signal the poison error as one of a fault and a system management error responsive to the programmable indicator.

Abstract: A hosting provider operates a server system that provides a service to one or more tenants. The server system receives configuration data from the tenants. As part of providing the service to a given tenant, the server system attempts to access an external service due to the configuration data received from the given tenant identifying the external service. Service access errors can occur when attempting to access the external service. In response to determining that an error has occurred when attempting to access the external service, the server system sends a service access alert to a recipient associated with the given tenant. The service access alert notifies the recipient that the error has occurred.

Abstract: A file system for a stage lighting system that maintains the different files associated with the stage lighting system. Each of the files that can represent an effect are maintained within the system within a configuration file. The configuration file can be updated on each start of the system so that the system can maintain information indicative of current configuration files. A test mode can also be entered in which a pre-formed show can be tested against the current state of the configuration files.

Abstract: An event notification method for distributed processing systems provides remote and local node event notification in systems that require local registration of an event consumer in order produce an event notifications. To provide notification of an event occurring on a remote node, either event consumers on all nodes in the cluster register locally to receive event notifications and specify that the event is a cluster event, in which case the nodes send notification of their locally-occurring events to all nodes, or remote registrations are accepted at nodes and if a local consumer for the event is not present, a listener thread registers as an event consumer. The listener thread sends the event notifications to the remote nodes registered as consumers for the event by observing communication between the event producer and the local consumer, or receiving the event notifications directly if there is no local consumer.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for configurable alert delivery in a distributed processing system are provided. Embodiments include for each alert generated by an incident analyzer, applying active alert filters to the alert; wherein applying the active alert filters to the alert includes: creating a list of all active alert filters and a set of all active listeners; and for each active alert filter, running the active alert filter; if the active alert filter indicates that the alert should not go to one or more of the active listeners, removing the one or more active listeners from the set of all active listeners; if the active listeners set is empty, stopping processing of the alert; and if the active listeners set is not empty, selecting the next active alert filter from the active alert filter list.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an arrangement for distributing fault information from a lower level network management node to a higher level network management node in a network management architecture comprising modules logically representing network nodes and network links under management. And, a notification comprising a summary of fault information sent by the lower level network management node is received by the higher level network management node. Then, the higher level network management node retrieves the subscribed detailed fault information from said received notification.

Abstract: A system for troubleshooting control programs employs an event log that captures the values of inputs to outputs from the control program only at event times determined by changes in input or output data. The program allows the event log to be reviewed in jumps to only events which cause a change in output value of an instruction or particular change in output value of a particular instruction, greatly simplifying the troubleshooting process. The event log records a particular instruction instance associated with the event permitting the operation of the program to be studied in reverse order. The event log may also record a timestamp of the event allowing time stamped data from different devices to be synchronized with the review of the events.

Abstract: A method for saving crash dump files of a virtual machine (VM) on a designated disk is disclosed. The method includes associating, by a hypervisor that virtualizes a plurality of virtual machines (VMs), each VM of the plurality of VMs with a crash dump disk that is solely dedicated to the VM, wherein each crash dump disk is located separate from its associated VM. The method further includes configuring, by the hypervisor, an OS of each VM with a crash file path to the crash dump disk associated with the VM, and configuring, by the hypervisor, each VM of the plurality of VMs to generate crash dump files for the VM upon a crash event of the VM and store, via the crash file path, the generated crash dump files to the crash dump disk associated with the VM.

Abstract: A network management system utilizes an element manager at the RNC level to reduce the workload and efficiently manage multiple wireless appliances in a mobile data network. Management communications from the network management system flow through the element manager to all devices under the RNC level appliance hosting the element manager. The element manager provides for fault management, performance monitoring and configuration of the many breakout appliances and reports necessary information back to the network management system.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes computer implemented methods, computer systems, and computer readable mediums for recursively testing an OData service. One method may include extracting resource identifiers from an initial service document, and for each of the resource identifiers, retrieving a respective response document from the OData service. The method may further include applying a test function to each of the resource identifiers and respective response documents and recording a result of the test function for each of the resource identifiers. The method may further include recursively extracting new resource identifiers from the response documents and retrieving respective new response documents for each new resource identifier from the OData service until no additional resource identifiers are extracted from the new response documents.

Abstract: Various embodiments include a method and system for high-volume distributed script error report handling. A group of user terminals may be selected to report errors, where the group of user terminals is a subset of user terminals having open user session and the group of user terminals is smaller than a predetermined threshold value. An error report, generated by a user terminal in response to a script error, may then be received, where the user terminal is in the group of user terminals selected to report errors. The received error report may then be processed to create a processed error report. The processed error report may then be presented to a service user.

Abstract: A method for computer system recovery is presented. In one embodiment, the method includes establishing a connection, via an interface, to a computer system to support the system recovery of the computer system. The method includes executing an emulation application as a recovery agent. The method includes retrieving, based on identifiers associated with the computer system, remote data via another interface. The method further includes performing the system recovery by using at least a part of the remote data.

Abstract: A method, system and machine-readable storage medium for providing fault tolerance in a distributed mobile architecture (dMA) system. The method includes receiving a message or failing to receive the message within a predetermined time relating to a first dMA gateway (dMAG) at a second dMAG. It is determined whether the first dMAG is not operational or is otherwise offline based on the received message or the failure to receive the message. One or more dMA nodes associated with the first dMAG are notified in order to request connections to an external system via the second dMAG. The external system is also notified to request connections to one or more dMA nodes associated with the first dMAG via the second dMAG.

Abstract: Network survivability is quantified in such a way that failure cases can be compared and ranked against each other in terms of the severity of their impact on the various performance measures associated with the network. The degradation in network performance caused by each failure is quantified based on user-defined sets of thresholds of degradation severity for each performance measure. Each failure is simulated using a model of the network, and a degradation vector is determined for each simulated failure. A comparison function is defined to map the degradation vectors into an ordered set, and this ordered set is used to create an ordered list of network failures, in order of the network degradation caused by each failure.

By detecting an error information based on a data transfer error or the sign of the data transfer error, a filter circuit that needs to be replaced is specified. Thus, the noise immunity of only a required portion of the filter circuits is increased, as a result, it is possible to suppress the cost for noise reduction while increasing the noise immunity of the entire system.

The administrator system sends a description of the anomalous behavior and a group of options to the administrator client. The description is at least partly based on the calculation. The administrator system receives a severity indication from the administrator client. The weight, the calculation, and the description are updated based on the severity indication.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate generally to error reporting methods and systems. An error reporting application may be configured to be a stand-alone program, embedded within another application, or added as a plug-in application. Abstract: A distributed computing system includes a plurality of intercommunicating component machines. In a method for alert processing, when a component machine fails to perform an operation, and no alert information regarding that operation is currently stored by that component machine, peer machines among the component machines are identified with regard to the operation. Notification is sent to the peer machines regarding failure to perform the operation, notifying the peer machines to store alert information regarding the operation. The component machine stores the alert information regarding the operation and issues an alert corresponding to the failure to perform the operation. A computer readable medium containing executable instructions is also described.

A key period of use associated with the generating network device is also retrieved. Abstract: Systems and methods for providing automated problem reporting in elements used in conjunction with computer networks are disclosed. The system comprises a plurality of elements that perform data migration operations and a reporting manager or monitor agent which monitors the elements and data migration operations. Upon detection of hardware or software problems, the reporting manager or monitor agent automatically communicates with elements affected by the problem to gather selected hardware, software, and configuration information, analyzes the information to determine causes of the problem, and issues a problem report containing at least a portion of the selected information. The problem report is communicated to a remote monitor that does not possess access privileges to the elements, allowing automated, remote monitoring of the elements without compromising security of the computer network or elements.

Abstract: Embodiments include devices, systems, methods, and articles of manufacture that facilitate sending notices that a previously identified malfunctioning link or pointer has been restored or otherwise rendered useable.
