Abstract: In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, a user interface system is described. The system includes a user interface surface. A strike sensor disposed on an underside of the user interface surface detects a strike to the user interface surface and distinguishes between movement of the user interface device along the user interface surface and a strike to the user interface surface. A haptic feedback device generates haptic feedback responsive to a detected strike.

Abstract: Systems and methods to enable users to incentivize particular in-game user behaviors and particular user activities within an online game are disclosed. Exemplary implementations may: effectuate presentation of an incentive interface that enables a first user to define a social agreement of a set of activities for a second user to perform and incentives for the set of activities that the second user can earn, and specify the second user to propose the social agreement to; effectuate presentation of the social agreement to the second user via an online gaming platform; receive an indication of acceptance to the social agreement; generate instructions to form the social agreement as a smart contract and transfer such to a decentralized ledger server for recordation; and receive indication of execution of the set of activities and, in responsive, provide the incentives to the second user.

The second application operates on the basis of the second instruction.

Abstract: Systems and approaches enable concurrent interaction with multiple user applications in a multi-tasking environment. User input, such as voice commands, head movement, hand or finger gestures, device motion, can be received to a centralized component of a system. State information for each user application can be determined, and the centralized component can send a recognized command or gesture to the appropriate user application(s) based on the state information and/or rules for propagating user input. Additionally, users can configure the input modalities of each user application to customize interaction with systems.

Abstract: Methods and systems configured to enable communications among user concurrently accessing a website are described. A communication system detects that at least a first user and a second user are concurrently accessing a third party website via respective first user and second user devices. At least partly in response to detecting that the first user and the second user are concurrently accessing the third party website, corresponding indications are transmitted to the first user device and the second user device. The first user and the second user are enabled to communicate with each other via one or more communication channels and to securely share content with each other.

Abstract: A method for reconfiguring operator controls of a work vehicle is disclosed. The method comprises providing a user interface operatively coupled to a control device. Displaying one or more displays of an apparatus configuration on a display screen of the user interface, each of the one or more displays including graphics associated with a function of the apparatus. Associating a control output of a control unit of the control device with the function of the apparatus; and dynamically adjusting, by a controller, the control output of the control unit to reconfigure operator controls of the work vehicle in response to a change in the graphics or a change in the relative arrangement of the one or more displays on the display screen.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed are towards the parallelization of collection queries. A method of parallelizing collection queries comprises providing a field searchable data store comprising a plurality of field searchable time stamped event records. The method further comprises receiving, at a search head, a collection query that references a field name that identifies portions of one or more event records to be summarized. Further, the method comprises determining if the collection query can be concurrently executed on a first plurality of indexers, wherein the search head is configured to communicate with the first plurality of indexers, and wherein each indexer of the first plurality of indexers comprises one or more field searchable time stamped event records. Responsive to an affirmative determination, the method also comprises determining a second plurality of indexers relevant to the collection query and executing the collection query to generate a respective summarization table at each indexer.

Abstract: Certain exemplary embodiments relate to entertainment systems and, more particularly, to systems that incorporate digital downloading jukebox features and improved user interfaces. For instance, a smart search may be provided, e.g., where search results vary based on the popularity of songs within the venue, in dependence on songs being promoted, etc. As another example, a tile-based approach to organizing groupings of songs is provided. Groupings may involve self-populating collections of songs that combine centrally-promoted songs, songs in a given genre that are popular across an audiovisual distribution network, and songs that are locally popular and match up with the given genre (e.g., because of shared attributes such as same or similar genre, artist, etc.). Different tile visual presentations also are contemplated, as are different physical jukebox designs. In certain example embodiments, a sealed core unit with the “brains” of the jukebox is insertable into a docking station.

Abstract: Systems and methods for radial gesture navigation are provided. In example embodiments, user input data is received from a user device. The user input data indicates a continuous physical user interaction associated with a display screen of the user device. An initial point and a current point are detected from the user input data. A radius distance for a circle that includes the current point and is centered about the initial point is determined. An action is selected from among multiple actions based on the radius distance being within a particular range among successive ranges along a straight line that starts at the initial point and extends through the circle. Each range among the successive ranges corresponds to a particular action among the multiple actions. The selected action is performed in response to detecting a completion of the continuous physical user interaction.

Abstract: A computer system stores information for a plurality of layouts of one or more user interface elements locally. Each layout corresponds to at least one type of display device, and includes one or more objects associated with the one or more user interface elements. Upon receiving a request for rendering a first user interface element on a display device, the computer system identifies a type of the display device and determines a first one of the at least one type of display device accordingly. The computer system then extracts information for a first layout corresponding to the first one of the at least one type of display device (e.g., information for a subset of objects that is stored with the first layout and corresponds to the first user interface element), and renders the subset of objects corresponding to the first user interface element on the display device accordingly.

Abstract: A vehicle infotainment system is provided. The vehicle infotainment system includes a display screen, a touchpad remote from the display screen, and a controller communicatively coupled to the display screen and to the touchpad. The controller is configured to virtually divide the touchpad into a main menu configuration. The controller is also configured to display a main menu of indicators corresponding to inactive applications, wherein the main menu occupies the entire display screen. The controller is also configured to receive a user input indicating selection of a first indicator. The controller is further configured to display selectable items associated with the first application in an interactive region of the display screen, and at least a second indicator in a non-interactive region of the display screen, and associate the touchpad with only the interactive region of the display screen.

Abstract: An example system is configured to (i) cause a client station to operate in a first mode in which the client station is configured for playback of a remote playback queue provided by a cloud-based computing system associated with a cloud-based media service, (ii) cause a zone player to take over playback responsibility for the remote playback queue, (iii) cause the zone player to (a) communicate with the cloud-based computing system to obtain data identifying a next one or more media items in the remote playback queue, (b) use the obtained data to retrieve at least one media item in the remote playback queue from the cloud-based media service, and (c) play back the retrieved at least one media item, and (iv) cause the client station to transition from the first mode to a second mode in which the client station is configured to control the zone player's playback of the remote playback queue.

Abstract: Systems and methods for adaptive, multi-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (“MRI”), in which an MRI scan prescription is adaptively changed to acquire high-quality data from select regions-of-interest (“ROI”) in a larger field-of-view (“FOV”), are provided. The higher quality data can include data representing higher spatial resolution, higher signal-to-noise ratio (“SNR”), increased diffusion encoding via repeated acquisition with a larger number of diffusion-encoding directions, and so on. A composite image can be generated that displays the higher quality images of the ROIs overlaid on the larger FOV.

Abstract: A method and system of controlling lighting that includes displaying on a graphic user interface of a mobile device a grid of light functions. The grid of light functions including a plurality of selectable light function settings. The method may further include selecting a light function setting from the selectable light function settings by traversing a cursor over the light function setting that is selected, wherein motion of the cursor is controlled by motion of the mobile device that includes a motion sensor for correlating said motion of the mobile device to said traversing of the cursor. The method may also include transmitting a control signal for the light function setting that is selected from said mobile device to a luminaire, wherein the luminaire projects light with properties consistent with said light function setting simultaneously with the cursor being present on said light function that is selected.

An enhanced metadata is prepared with semantic information, available data statistics, and search index associated with items of the metadata. The metadata is also classified based on ontology rules. An intent phrase to search the datasets from the plurality of data sources is obtained from a user. The enhanced metadata is searched with a semantic search query formed from the intent phrase, and search result is classified into semantic element classes generated from the intent phrase. A metadata model that satisfies the intent phrase is produced by identifying join columns and respective join relationships from the search result.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to using user biometric characteristics measured while the user is viewing virtual reality content to provide suggestions for downloadable virtual reality content in a virtual reality content store. An exemplary user device determines a criterion based on the user characteristics to filter the virtual reality content so that only virtual reality content that meets the criterion are displayed to the user. The virtual reality content displayed in the virtual reality content store has a corresponding activity level score.

Abstract: A method for providing a user interface in a vehicle, wherein information that is structured in lists can be displayed, and wherein a list includes list entries and the list entries include elements. An application predictive model is obtained by training a simple recurrent unit (SRU) neural network model according to multiple groups of usage timing association records. Probability values of launching the applications are acquired from the application predictive model by processing the usage status information of the applications with the application predictive model.
