Abstract: Methods and systems of dynamic comment are provided. A comment library stores comment entries and provides a basis for determining comment selections dynamically. Metadata associated with the comment entries may also be stored in the comment library. A set of comment selections may be determined based on the context in which a user is commenting on the digital content and the user's input. A comment library may be searched for matching instances of the user's input to determine the set of comment selections.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for providing content to a user based on a user-controllable adventurousness parameter. A content pool is accessed, where the content pool contains a plurality of content items, and where each content item is associated with a content parameter. A baseline position is identified, where the baseline position is associated with a particular value of the content parameter. A user-controllable adventurousness parameter is received, where the adventurousness parameter indicates a user preference for a next content item relative to the baseline position. The next content item is selected based on the baseline position and the adventurousness parameter, and the next content item is provided via a computer network.

Abstract: A management system includes a map information storage unit, an association information storage unit, a map information generation unit, a display unit, and an operation unit. The map information generation unit generates display arrangement map information and display process map information for displaying an arrangement map that indicates arrangement positions and a process map that indicates a connection relationship of a plurality of system devices that constitute a process system. Also, the map information generation unit generates the display process map information in a display mode that enables other system devices associated with a designated system device to be identified, based on information stored in the association information storage unit.

Abstract: An improved jukebox user interface that includes standard and simplified interface screens is provided. A home screen includes control elements arranged along a first axis. At least a first one of these elements displays a search screen, at least a second one displays a curated list of songs and/or artists via a first selection screen, and at least a third one displays a curated list of curated lists of songs via a second selection screen. The home screen also includes user-selectable song objects arrangeable along a second axis generally perpendicular to the first axis; user-selectable song list objects arrangeable along a third axis generally parallel to the second axis; and a status area extending along a peripheral edge thereof. Some/all standard interface screens include the control elements of the home screen in a position that is common across all such screens, but the simplified interface screens lack them.

Abstract: Systems and methods of (remotely) controlling aspects of pools and spas and of modifying water contained therein are detailed. Internet-enabled access to pool and spa controllers may happen without any need for users to create firewall ports or utilize static internet protocol addresses. Certain networking devices may be configured using a USB connection or SD card, avoiding any requirement for an Ethernet cable or supplying separate power to the devices during configuration. Other devices may be configured wirelessly, without need of any USB connection or SD card. Time-varying data may be obtained in respect of one or more installations and analyzed for various information.

Abstract: A system and a method are provided for enabling a user to interactively navigate through a set of slice images, the set of slice images jointly representing an image volume showing an anatomical structure of a patient. A user may be enabled to switch from a static viewing mode to a navigation mode based on navigation commands received from a user input device operable by the user. A display processor may be configured for, in the static viewing mode, generating an output image comprising one slice image of the set of slice images. The display processor may be configured for, in the navigation mode, replacing the said one slice image in the output image by a volume rendering of a slab of the image volume, the slab comprising more than one slice image. The system and method thus selectively switch to volume rendering, namely during navigation, whereas in a static (i.e., non-navigation) viewing mode, a slice image is shown.

Abstract: A computer implemented method for managing health-related data captures an image from a display of an exercise machine using a camera, has the images processed to extract the text data from the captured images, and analyzes the text data to identify information relating to extrinsic physical activity performed by a person at the exercise machine. The results are stored in memory and a profile specific to the person is updated. The profile comprises a log of past exercise activity that allows the person to track his or her activity and progress and overall health. The profile can be accessed by the person through a portal such as using a smart phone or a computer program or web browser. The results can be combined with other data to arrive at a health score which can be published through the portal while personal data remains masked from public inspection.

Abstract: Some embodiments disclose techniques for enabling cross visualization interaction between data corresponding to different visualizations. In an embodiment, a visual analyzer system is disclosed that is capable of generating and displaying a plurality of visualizations to a user via a graphical user interface. The visual analyzer system is capable of receiving a selection of a particular portion of a visualization from a user and correlating the selected portion with portions of data in other visualizations that are displayed to the user. In some embodiments, the visual analyzer system is capable of highlighting the correlated portions of the data and presenting the highlighted portions via the graphical user interface to a user.

Abstract: A monitoring component installed in a network navigation interface, such as an Internet browser, is disclosed. The monitoring component monitors activity of a user performed via the network navigation interface among one or more network resources, such as e-commerce sites, blogs, media hosting sites, and social networking sites. The monitoring component further enables the user to selected at least one monitored activity to be shared with contacts known to the user. An activity service is provided that notifies the contacts of the selected activity and generates recommendations for the user based on the activities reported by the monitoring component. In this manner, users may share activities of interest with their contacts, as well obtain recommendations about items of possible interest.

Abstract: A stream of storage requests can be received for data objects stored by a storage service. A streaming algorithm can be utilized to identify the most frequently accessed objects stored by the storage service. A statistical distribution of the most frequently accessed objects can then be generated and utilized to estimate the number of infrequently accessed objects. Machine learning can also be utilized to identify correlations between attributes of objects stored by the storage service and their associated access rates. For instance, machine learning can be utilized to determine that objects stored in a certain location or having other characteristics typically have low access rates. Information regarding the number of infrequently accessed objects and their learned attributes can be utilized to take action with regard to the infrequently accessed objects, such as moving the infrequently accessed objects to long-term storage.

An action is selected from among multiple actions based on the radius distance being within a particular range among successive ranges along a straight line that starts at the initial point and extends through the circle. Each range among the successive ranges corresponds to a particular action among the multiple actions. The selected action is performed in response to detecting a completion of the continuous physical user interaction.

The content items may be, e.g., videos uploaded by a user or other content. The systems and methods employ a streamlined interface for convenience to the user. In one example, a user of a computer system views a video segment through a first website and re-posts the video segment to a second website by entering a single command or clicking a single button. The websites coordinate the re-posting using credentials previously or contemporaneously entered by the user. Moreover, a content item may be automatically prepared for re-posting on the target website using previously-entered user selections. Playback software from a source website may be posted to a target website to allow access of the content item at the source website.

Abstract: A user can dynamically invoke and control the display of secondary data visualizations based on a selected element of a primary data visualization. Previews of the secondary data visualizations are presented as the user interacts with the primary visualization. In response to user input, previews can be dynamically expanded, allowing a user to dynamically “drill down” into selected elements of the primary data visualization. Any suitable input mechanism can be used, including for example, a gesture such as a two-finger spreading motion to invoke previews of available secondary visualizations, wherein the axis defined by two points of contact determines which of the displayed previews of secondary visualizations is highlighted and/or expanded. In various embodiments, a hierarchy of visualizations can be established, and the user can navigate among two or more levels of visualizations in the same interactive manner.

Abstract: Systems and methods for control of application actions using a modification trigger to visually modify an electronic document are disclosed. A computing device, such as a mobile computing device having a touchscreen display, can display an electronic document having a first portion and a second portion. Initially upon displaying the electronic document, the computing device displays the first portion and the second portion may lie out of view, not displayed. A user can swipe along a scroll direction, causing the second portion to be displayed. The second portion can include or otherwise be associated with a modification trigger. Upon receiving a gesture on the second portion, the modification trigger performs actions, including, for example, subscribing to a series of electronic documents and minimizing the visual display of the electronic document.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed are towards the transparent summarization of events. Queries directed towards summarizing and reporting on event records may be received at a search head. Search heads may be associated with one more indexers containing event records. The search head may forward the query to the indexers the can resolve the query for concurrent execution. If a query is a collection query, indexers may generate summarization information based on event records located on the indexers. Event record fields included in the summarization information may be determined based on terms included in the collection query. If a query is a stats query, each indexer may generate a partial result set from previously generated summarization information, returning the partial result sets to the search head. Collection queries may be saved and scheduled to run and periodically update the summarization information.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present application provides methods and apparatus capable of recording operation/display events on a mobile device used to fulfill a service request. A recorded sequence operation/display events is used to build a script file, which is associated with the service request.
