Abstract: A device for comfortably holding, immobilizing, separating and steadying the fingers of a person during a manicure who has suffered a debilitating disease, stroke or accident resulting in trembling, disfigured or paralyzed fingers and hands. The device includes a casing formed from a compressible material such as a foam type disc having rounded ridges about the exterior side edges, and narrow slots cut into the concave portions of the outer rounded ridges. All five fingers of one's hand can be inserted into the slots so that the walls of the slots expand and compress about the fingers locking the device to the hand. The device allows for any size and shaped fingers. The device allows for the hands and fingers to fold inwardly. A second version has an attachment strap that wraps about the exterior of the disc closing off the slots and further locking the finger to the disc.

Abstract: There is disclosed a nail file used to trim or polish the fingernails or the toenails. Conventionally, there has been suggested a nail file having attached a abrasive paper with a roughness on the surface of the stick shaped as a flat plate, or attached abrasive papers with different roughnesses partially, however, several problems have been caused, such as they were very inconvenient to use, and new file should be exchanged if any one of the abrasive papers runs out of its durability, so that it becomes a burden economically.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of fashioning artificial nails having colorful patterns by applying a first layer of a first colored polymer to a natural or artificial fingernail. Portions of the first polymer are scraped off with a gouge to create a defined border. A second application of acrylic powder of a second color is applied along the border defined above so that the second application is substantially an extension of the first colored polymer. In a further embodiment, portions of the second color can also be scraped off with gouge to define a second edge, in order to form additional patterns. A system is created for fashioning artificial nails having colorful patterns comprising an elongated gouge having a handle end and a fashioning end. The fashioning end has an end that has a width and curvature that generally corresponds to the width and contour of the nail. In a further embodiment, the system has several gouges having different shaped ends to create different patterns.

Abstract: Nail Works is a nail polish bottle's cap acting as an application tool to aid in the process of polishing. Nail Works includes a nail polish bottle filled with paint, a lid with depending wand having a brush and the lid with an attached nail. The attached nail may slide into a position that is appropriate for use and then retract into its original position. The nail bearing the color of paint within the bottle is thin and concave in nature and acts as a scraping device to rid the cuticles of excess paint. Its sleek dimensional design allows it to lye flush against the customer's nail bed facilitating in correct color choice based upon skin tone and not just looks.

Abstract: A thickset artificial nail tip device has two regions, including a well region that may be affixed to and blend in with a portion of a natural nail bed of a wearer, and a thicker body region that may extend beyond the natural nail bed of a wearer. The thicker body region may include a single color or multicolor design and may help to eliminate a need for applying acrylic materials on top of the artificial nail tip. In one embodiment, the well region is absent, so that the thickset artificial nail tip device may be used on a long natural nail bed. In one aspect, the accessory includes a polymeric body having an upper surface, a lower surface, a proximal end and a distal end. A base is secured to at least a portion of the lower surface. The base extends beyond the proximal end of the polymeric body and is adapted to receive a layer of settable polymeric material when the base is applied to a natural fingernail to form an artificial fingernail.

Abstract: A method for attaching an artificial nail. In patients who have a deformity of the fingernail or the toenail due to previous injuries, birth defects, or have undergone partial or entire matricectomies (wherein the root of the nail, which creates growth, is removed) due to severe cases of ingrown toenails, disclosed is a method of attachment of an artificial nail supported above the deformity by the use of three bone anchors, three posts, and a nail scaffold. A method for attaching an artificial nail that does not use adhesives, nor does it rely upon the patient having a natural nail to securely fit the artificial nail over the deformity.

The handle portion has a first surface, a second surface, and a side edge portion extending around the periphery of the handle portion. Preferably, the leading edge has a first thickness while the handle portion has a second minimum thickness, with the first thickness being less than the second minimum thickness. In one embodiment of the invention, the blade portion has an elongate axis, with the blade portion having a rigidity imparting component extending parallel to the elongate axis. Preferably, the blade portion is of a thickness of less than 1/64? while the handle portion is of a thickness greater than the thickness of the blade portion. In another embodiment of the invention, the tool has a handle portion and a plurality of radially extending blade portions.

Abstract: An artificial nail forming device is disclosed which is formed of stamped sheet metal and has a front section and a rear section formed by an intermediate opening between the sections. The rear section has bendable ears for attaching the device to a finger so the natural nail of the finger is exposed in the opening. The front section of the device has an outer surface that defines orthogonal curvatures that simulate the orthogonal curvatures of a natural nail. The exposed nail has its tip overlying the front section outer surface so that the artificial nail can be applied to the exposed natural nail and to the device front section outer surface. After curing, the artificial nail is separated from the forming device by pressing on two tabs extending from the front section to bend and thus displace the front section relative to the rear section and to the finger. This displacement breaks the bond between the artificial nail and the front section.

Abstract: The present invention provides a painting holder, a painting holder feeding unit, a printer unit having the holder and feeding unit, and an art painting apparatus with such a printer unit for automatic vending machines. The painting holder consists of a housing connected to a bracket of a feeding unit, a spring-biased finger base movably set within the housing so as to be elastically biased upward in the housing, a locking member hinged to the right-hand sidewall of the housing, and normally biased in a direction by a first torsion coil spring, and a finger cover hinged to the left-hand sidewall of the housing, and biased in a direction by a second torsion coil spring. The finger cover also has a painting opening at a predetermined position thereof, and is locked by the locking member. The art painting apparatus has a high resolution of not less than 1,200 dpi, thus accomplishing a highly active and clear painting effect.

In one embodiment, the flexible portion is itself of a thickness of at least about 3 mm, and the cut-out portion forms an opening in the flexible portion. In the second embodiment, tabs connecting the cut-out portion walls to the flexible portion may be used.

An adhesive layer is secured to at least a portion of the lower surface of the polymeric body. The adhesive layer is adapted to adhere to an upper surface of a wearer's natural fingernail when applied thereto.
