Abstract: An artificial nail is provided. The artificial nail comprises a nail body. The nail body has indicating portions formed in the widthwise direction thereof. The indicating portions have a different surface roughness from the other portions. The indicating portions serve as guidelines when a user cuts the nail body attached to his/her nail to a desired length. Therefore, the indicating portions allow the user to easily cut the nail body to a desired shape while being in harmony with the length of other artificial nails. Further provided is a method for manufacturing the artificial nail.

Abstract: A fingernail gel curation apparatus that allows an individual to rapidly cure and dry fingernail gel that has been applied to their fingertips, thereby saving time for individuals and preventing unnecessary ultraviolet light exposure. The apparatus includes a base and two folding upper lid portions that are pivotally attached to the base. The base and each of the upper lid portions each have a UV light that is protected by glass layer so personal contact is not made. When the upper lid portions are closed over the base, a hand hole is present to allow an individual to insert their hand through in order to receive UV light being emitted from the UV lights within the apparatus. The UV light will help to dry fingernail gel applied to the individual's fingernails in a faster manner than doing nothing, thereby saving an individual time.

  • Patent number: 7654268
Abstract: An artificial nail forming device is disclosed which is formed of stamped sheet metal and has a front section and a rear section formed by an intermediate opening between the sections. The rear section has bendable ears for attaching the device to a finger so the natural nail of the finger is exposed in the opening. The front section of the device has an outer surface that defines orthogonal curvatures that simulate the orthogonal curvatures of a natural nail. The exposed nail has its tip overlying the front section outer surface so that the artificial nail can be applied to the exposed natural nail and to the device front section outer surface. After curing, the artificial nail is separated from the forming device by pressing on two tabs extending from the front section to bend and thus displace the front section relative to the rear section and to the finger. This displacement breaks the bond between the artificial nail and the front section.

To allow the nail body to conform to the curve of the natural fingernail between the sides, the thickness of the nail body increases from the proximate edge to the distal edge. The relatively thinner proximate edge provides that region of the nail body with an inherent flexibility that allows the nail body to deflect and conform to the natural fingernail. The relatively thicker distal edge provides that region of the nail body with an inherent rigidity and, relatedly, additional strength to the portion of the nail body intended to extend beyond the fingertip.
