  • Patent number: 7748407
Abstract: A compressed gas regulator of a piston type is disclosed in which a regulator is configured with an input valve situated entirely inside a compressed air canister, which regulator is then attached to a paintball gun, marker or other device for providing discrete charges of gas at a predetermined pressure to the attached device. The overall size and weight of the regulator are minimized, which allows increased capabilities to the user. A regulator overpressurization port vents behind a conventional safety gauge for safety purposes. Fill, gage, and canister overpressurization rupture ports are interconnected with a fill channel that extends from the canister to the ports without intersecting or interfering with the regulating components within the regulator. The input valve seat face is surrounded by a shallow generally conical surface within an input plenum. The shallow generally conical surface extends at approximately 5 to 15 degrees.

Abstract: A main control valve is actuated by a pilot fluid control signal between open and closed positions to supply fluid to an actuator such as a valve actuator. A stack of logic control valves is supported on the main valve- and controls the flow of the pilot signal. Each of the logic control valves has a housing of common design. Intermediate flow-directing plates of different designs provide fluid communication between adjacent housings. The stack has a common pilot feed passage and a common exhaust passage that are each defined by an annular clearance around supporting tie bars that pass through bores in the stack. Each plate has apertures that form part of the exhaust and pilot feed passages and an aperture that interconnects the returning pilot signal with the pilot inlet of the next valve in the stack. The arrangement allows for simplification of the design of the apparatus with a single housing design and multiple plate designs.

Abstract: A steam valve assembly has a main-steam stop valve, and a steam control valve connected downstream to the main-steam stop valve via an intermediate flow path. The two valves each has a casing having an inlet port directing horizontally, and an outlet port directing vertically. The valve bodies and the valve stems move up and down in the casings to open and close the flow paths in the valves. The intermediate flow path is configured to guide main steam from the outlet port of the main-steam stop valve in vertically downward direction to the inlet port of the steam control valve in horizontal direction.

  • Patent number: 7530367
Abstract: A main valve reduces an unregulated pressure of a high-pressure gas to a regulated pressure by being interlocked with a diaphragm, which receives the regulated pressure within a pressure regulating chamber and is displaced. A subsidiary valve is interlocked with the main valve through a plunger and reduces the unregulated pressure of the high-pressure gas to the regulated pressure. The subsidiary valve is located such that the force, which accompanies a pressure loss occurring at the subsidiary valve and which the subsidiary valve receives, cancels the force, which accompanies the pressure loss occurring at the main valve and acts upon the plunger. An adjustor adjusts a pressure loss value occurring at the subsidiary valve so as to be equal to the pressure loss value occurring at the main valve.

Abstract: When supplying a fluid to a first flow channel (11a) of a valve (1), air is introduced into an air cylinder (3a) from an air introduction channel (35a). An operating plate (5a) thus slides and drives a shaft (4a) to move backward to such a position that a second sealing surface (8a) of a sealing plate (6a) abuts against a wall (13a). An air cylinder (3b) is moved forward to such a position that a sealing surface (7b) of a sealing plate (6b) abuts against a wall (12b), thereby sealing an opening (14b).

Abstract: Modulating gas valves and systems for modulating gas flow to gas-fired appliances are disclosed. An illustrative modulating gas valve can include at least one main valve adapted to regulate the flow of gas through a main gas conduit, at least one regulator for regulating the gas pressure outputted by each main valve between a first gas pressure and a second gas pressure, and a modulator adapted to variably modulate the gas outputted by the gas valve at a pressure between the first and second gas pressures. The modulator can be used to modulate the main gas valve or valves between an infinite or discrete number of positions.
