The side panels (3) are connected to the central body (2) whilst they are in a folded condition. The aforesaid panels are preferentially obtained in a folded condition, with the distal edge (7) set in the proximity of the proximal edge (6).

Abstract: A wearable article formed of a gelatinous elastomer composition having 100 parts by weight of triblock copolymer of the general configuration poly(styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene) wherein the styrene end block to ethylene and butylene center block ratio is within the range of from between 31:69 to 40:60, from about 300 to about 1,600 parts by weight of a plasticizing oil and having a gel rigidity of about 20 gram to about 700 gram Bloom.

Abstract: The invention provides a multi-layer fabric which is comprised of a first layer and a second layer which are adhered to each other, wherein the first layer comprises an elastic fabric of fibers of a polyolefin material which elastic fabric has an ultimate elongation of at least 500%; and wherein the second layer comprises a bonded nonwoven fabric of polyolefin staple fibers in which fiber-to-fiber bonds are present, which nonwoven fabric has an elongation in the cross machine direction of at least 130%, and wherein the polyolefin staple fibers have an elongation of at least 350%. The invention further provides processes for making the multi-layer fabric, an article or article component comprising the multi-layer component, and the use of the multi-layer fabric in diaper or training pant applications.

The rear panel includes an interior face to be proximal the wearer and an exterior face to be distal the wearer. A supporting band is to support the body generally at a waist of the wearer. The pocket can be positioned on either the supporting band or the rear panel or both. The pocket is designed to store small or flat objects in a manner that is essentially invisible outside the wearer's clothes.

Abstract: A wearing apparel garment, such as an undergarment, has a padded portion positioned to be located adjacent to the coccyx of the wearer during use and which has a medicated patch containing suitable medicine therein which is applied to the user adjacent his or her coccyx during use. The garment is intended for use by one who is confined to a significant period of sitting or prone positioning which may make that person susceptible to pressure sores. The padded portion can be removed and the pad replaced as suitable. With the pad removed, the garment can be washed, if desired. The pad can be sized and medicated according to the need. The garment has no internal seams which might cause chafing or pressure on susceptible tissues. The garment is opened along a line which extends between the upper rim of the garment to the lower rim of the garment and which is releasably closed by a releasable fastener, such as a hook-and-loop fastener system.

Each of the seam arrays of the diaper includes a plurality of seam-welded regions and a seam-nonwelded region left behind in the seam array. In the seam array, the seam-welded regions arranged so as to be aligned in longitudinal and transverse directions, each substantially shaped in a square, partially lack at a position differentiated for every one of specified patterns.

Abstract: The present invention provides a disposable wearing article having a position indicator mark formed on a crotch member and overlapped by front and rear waist members. Front and rear waist members overlap front and rear ends, respectively, of a crotch member and are bonded thereto to define first and second overlapping regions and an intermediate region extending between these first and second overlapping regions. A position indicator mark is formed in the first overlapping region, a graphic of fish is portrayed as a crotch graphic element in the second overlapping region and graphics of fish are portrayed in the intermediate region as crotch graphic elements. In the first overlapping region, a front waist sheet of the front waist member overlaps a front graphic film on which a graphic of penguin is portrayed as a front graphic element which, in turn, overlaps the position indicator mark.

A diaper is folded along an imaginary lateral center line so that front and rear waist regions are in contact with each other and so that front and rear upper end edges in the regions substantially have the same level with each other. Second folds which extend in the longitudinal direction are formed in containment cuffs.

Each of the panels is joined along its outermost edge line to its corresponding opposite front or back ear panel to form two overlapping seams, two leg openings and a waist opening. At least one of the overlapping seams has a substantially bonded portion and an unbonded portion such that the ratio in the length of the unbonded portion to the substantially bonded portion is between about 4:96 and about 20:80.

Abstract: The present invention is an enhanced undergarment that enables easier dressing and undressing by disabled individuals by allowing the user to don the garment from the buttock area. The garment is configured with a unique back panel at the buttock area that it is divided into two separate panels, a right panel and a left panel. The left and right panels of the undergarment are not seamed but remain open; this opening is from the top of the elastic band to the crotch. Seams are placed to attach the sides of the two separates panels to the front panel, joining the right and left sides. The undergarments are configured with standard leg openings. A seam is also at the crotch. Before the seam is placed at the crotch area, the bottoms of the back panels are designed to overlap. The overlap facilitates better closure and provides space for extra fasteners if needed. The left and right panels include male and female fasteners which allow the user to manually open and close the back panels.

Abstract: Cooling apparatus (and method) for reducing the risk of, and/or alleviating, male infertility, particularly in a heated environment, includes: a pouch to enclose the scrotal area of the male user; a thermoelectric cooling device to be worn by the male user at a distance from the pouch; and a fluid pump also to be worn by the male user for pumping a cooling fluid from the cold side of the thermoelectric cooling device to the pouch, and a cooling fluid over the hot side of the thermoelectric cooling device to dissipate the heat generated therein to the atmosphere. The thermoelectric cooling device and pump are incorporated in a waistband to be worn around the waist of the male user.

Abstract: A stretch composite having one or more elastomeric members disposed on at least one region of an extensible fibrous substrate to provide stretch properties to a targeted region of the substrate. The composite has been incrementally stretched to at least partially break up the structure of the substrate in order to reduce its resistance to stretch. The stretch composites are useful for disposable and durable articles, such as disposable absorbent articles including diapers, pull-on diapers, training pants, incontinence briefs, catamenial garments, baby bibs, and the like, and durable articles like garments including sportswear, outerwear and the like. The present invention also relates to methods of forming such stretch composites.

Abstract: Novel aqueous polyurethane dispersions and adhesive films formed therefrom are provided. The aqueous polyurethane dispersions are provided in solvent-free systems of a prepolymer comprising at least one polyether or polyester polyol, a mixture of MDI isomers, and a diol. The adhesive films from such dispersions can be heat-activated for bonding, lamination, and adhesion of textile fabrics, including stretch fabrics.

Methods are disclosed for producing the multifunctional, responsive functional layer, which enable the combination of functions, such as moisture management, soil release, antistatic, hydrophobicity, hydrophilicity, oleophobicity, controlled release, and conductivity.

Abstract: A set of garment stays comprise a thin, plastic inner piece capable of repeated bending, shaping and shape retention which is encased in a thin and soft fabric layer. The composite may be coated with thin layer of silicon. The stays are secured within a garment, specifically, preferably, at the elastic waistband to prevent rolling of the waistband and to maintain the shape and position of the garment while being worn. Preferably, the inner piece is made of polyolefine and the outer casing is a soft, fabric similar to that used in underwire bra supports. Garments made with the inventive stays include control underwear and camisoles. A method of making garments with elastic segments which tend to resist rolling is disclosed, too.

The method includes forming a chassis structure and at least one elastic panel being formed by providing a first web, which is an elastic web including at least one layer of an elastic material. The first web is stretched at least 70% in at least one direction. The stretched first web is bonded while the first web is held in the stretched state to a second web. The second web includes at least one layer of an elastic or non-elastic material, and the bonded first and second webs form an elastic composite web. The elastic composite is relaxed in the at least one direction by at least 4% of the stretched length of the stretched first web. The chassis structure is assembled from chassis components including the stretched and relaxed composite web.

Abstract: A wearing article adapted to be folded up as compactly as possible in a sanitary manner utilizing the component of the wearing article itself. The wearing article having front and rear waist regions that include a first pair of lateral zones opposed to each other in a transverse direction X and extending in a longitudinal direction Y and a second pair of lateral zones opposed to each other in the transverse direction X and extending in the longitudinal direction Y, respectively. An inner sheet is provided in the respective first lateral zones with mount members defining first engagement regions and hook elements of mechanical fastener are attached to a chassis via these mount members. The respective second lateral zones of the inner sheet define second engagement regions and provided with loop elements attached thereto. The front and rear waist regions are provided with waist elastic members attached thereto under tension so as to extend in the transverse direction X.

Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide fibers, a clothing fabric, and underwear which can maintain excellent cool contact feeling, texture, and pleasant feeling and can suppress fiber yellowing and reddening in distribution process or during in use. The present invention provides fibers containing a thermoplastic elastomer, an acidic compound, and a phosphorus antioxidant, wherein the acidic compound is a styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer or an acid anhydride and the acidic compound is contained in an amount of 0.1 parts by weight or more per 100 parts by weight of the thermoplastic elastomer.
