  • Publication number: 20140352024
Abstract: A system and method for reinforcement helps reinforce a pocket at the seams and edges with panels, stitches, and folds. The system helps reinforce a pocket at the seams and edges, such that abrasive forces on the pocket are alleviated. The reinforcement comprises an addition of multiple layers of material and fabric that overlay the pocket at sections of the pocket where engagement and movement most often occur. The system uses unique reinforcement panels that overlay the original panel that forms the pocket. The reinforcement panel is of different material than the panel. The reinforcement panel overlays the panel at the open end, where abrasive movement occurs for accessing the interior of the pocket, and also overlays a closed end, where items accumulate inside the pocket. The system utilizes a secondary pocket inside the pocket, along with a zipper and a loop for enhanced usability.

Abstract: Disclosed is a posture support garment. The posture support garment can be designed to use an elastic tension fabric that provides tension on the left sleeve and right sleeve of the posture support garment. The tension created can pull the back of the left sleeve and the right sleeve inwards towards the middle of the wearer of the posture support garment's back. This, in turn, can cause the wearer's shoulders to be pulled back and upwards, thus stretching the wearer's chest and shoulder muscles while also relieving tension on the wearer's back and neck muscles. This can help reverse the effects of repetitive poor posture as well as the physical pains associated with poor posture. Abstract: Thermal garments with reduced weight and bulk and improved packability include targeted zones of increased thermal resistive properties. Such garments may include: (a) a first garment region extending along a central back portion of the garment from the waist area of the garment to the neck area; (b) second and third garment regions extending along the sides of the garment from the waist area to the underarm area; and (c) a fourth garment region extending between the first and second garment regions, between the first and third garment regions, and between the second and third garment regions. The fourth garment region includes a thermal material having a lower thermal resistive value than the thermal resistive values of the thermal materials associated with the first, second, and third garment regions. Methods of making such garments also are described.
