Abstract: An optimal range of motion garment is provided. The garment is capable of fitting over one or more shoulder pads. The garment comprises a front portion attached to a sleeve, a back portion attached to a sleeve, and a gusset attached to the front portion and the back portion. The gusset is configured to correspond to a negative space of the one or more shoulder pads. The garment may also comprise a sleeve opening attached to the sleeve. The sleeve opening is directed towards the front of a user at a specific angle. The gusset and sleeve opening being directed towards the front portion at a specific angle facilitate optimal range of motion for a user.

Abstract: A system and method for securing accessories to shoes and other articles of clothing is described. One illustrative embodiment is a system for attaching a decorative accessory to a shoe, the system comprising a shaft having first and second ends; a first shoulder secured to the first end of the shaft, the first shoulder being configured for insertion through an expandable hole in an upper portion of the shoe and configured to engage an inner surface of the upper portion of the shoe; a second shoulder secured to the second end of the shaft, the second shoulder being configured to engage the shoe; and a third shoulder adjacent to the second shoulder, the third shoulder comprising the decorative accessory.

The waterproof garment includes a first segment of a laminated composite material, a second segment of the laminated composite material, and a seam joining the first and the second segments of the laminated composite material to form the garment. The seam includes a light curable adhesive.

Abstract: A sleeve for a protective garment, such as a medical gown, includes a knit, woven, or non-woven layer and a seamless layer that are laminated together. The knit, woven, or non-woven layer can be a circularly knit seamless layer, or alternatively can have seams. The seamless layer can be water or vapor impermeable or resistant so as to prevent microorganisms, pathogens, liquids, or other substances from passing through the sleeve.

Abstract: An upper body garment for supporting an infant adjacent the chest and upper belly of a wearer that includes a tubular garment body made from a stretchable fabric and comprising a front panel and a back panel, one or more breast panels extending from a top portion of the back panel and over the shoulders of the wearer; and a pouch panel extending from a lower portion of the breast panels. The pouch panel is secured along a U-shaped seam to an inside surface of the front panel to form a pouch with a top opening proximate the lower portion of the breast panels. The stretchable fabric is a two-way stretchable fabric with an increased capability for elastic expansion within a substantially horizontal plane when the wearer is in an upright position.

Abstract: A garment is disclosed that enables caregivers to safely and comfortably outfit wheelchair-bound people when going outside. The garment comprises a garment body configured to extend around a front of a user and to wrap around a seatback of a user's wheelchair and be secured together, an opening at the top of the garment body for a user's neck, and a pair of sleeves for receiving the arms of the user, and wherein at least one of the opposing sides of the garment body comprises fastening components which are removably secured together to secure the back of the garment body to the front of the garment body. The opening at the top of the garment body comprises an approximately V-shaped notch to accommodate a trachea tube, and a hood for engaging over the head of the user and leaving the face open.

Abstract: The disclosed method is for making a shirt that includes an anterior portion and a posterior portion. The method includes seamlessly weaving at least a posterior portion of a shirt from a first thread having a first elasticity; and seamlessly weaving a plurality of bands into the posterior portion of the shirt using a second thread having a second elasticity different from the first elasticity.

Abstract: A post-surgical garment comprises a wrap-around material with pouches for comfortable placement of surgical drains. The garment provides a wrap around piece designed to keep the post-surgical drains and the tubing of the drains secure while showering, sponge bathing or during daily activities. A post-surgical drain is slipped through an opening on the side of the garment and any attached tubing is fed through. The post-surgical drain and excess tubing is placed in a pouch. Flaps are securely closed to cover the opening. The garment is then closed in the front with a secure closure.

Abstract: A garment for wearing during monitoring of muscle activity of a subject includes a torso portion defining an interior space configured and adapted to accommodate and cover at least a portion of the subject's torso. The torso portion defines an exterior space external to the interior space. A plurality of access fittings are defined in the torso portion. Each access fitting is configured and adapted to accommodate access to skin of the subject adjacent a muscle group to be monitored by a sensor unit external to the torso portion, such that at least a portion of the sensor unit remains external to the torso portion with the sensor unit accessing the skin via the access fitting.

Abstract: An infant cover that can be affixed to the open front edges of an item of clothing, such as a coat, to provide protection against weather elements to an infant carried by the person in the front, chest area of the person. The infant cover has a main panel and a pair of side panels that are oppositely disposed and extend outwardly from the main panel. A pair of folds is formed between the main panel and the side panels. One or more affixation devices are located in each fold to affix the infant cover to the front, open edges of the coat and span the area therebetween. The infant cover provides protection to an infant carried against the chest of the person by covering the normally open space present between the front edges of the unsecured coat so as to create a protective environment for the infant.

The athletic jersey includes a first section and a separate second section secured the first section by a plurality of sewn seams along a connection plane. Athlete indicia associated with an athlete such as the athlete's surname is provided on at least one of the first and second sections. The first section forms a first field having first team indicia of a first athletic team associated with the athlete such as colors of the first athletic team and the second section forms a second field having second team indicia of a second athletic team associated with the athlete such as colors of the second athletic team.

Abstract: An accessory adapter for mounting an ornamental piece with two opposing edges. The adapter has a body with two spaced members forming a cavity therebetween for receiving one of the edges. The body also has an exterior surface configured to be fixed to an anchoring portion for mounting the adapter on a human body or object. A movable member is rotatably mounted on the body and rotatable to engage the other edge of the two opposing edges to releasably secure the adapter to the ornamental piece.

Abstract: A garment includes a fabric portion with an electrode connected to the fabric portion and configured to engage a torso of the wearer. A receptacle is fixedly connected to the fabric portion and includes a receptacle housing, a socket defined by the receptacle housing, and an electrode lead, the electrode lead extending through the receptacle housing and providing an electrical connection between the electrode and the socket. An electronics module is configured to be removably inserted into the socket of the receptacle and contact the electrode lead. The electronics module includes a multi-component injection molded housing including a front face having a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is comprised of a relatively soft and resilient polymer material and the second portion is comprised of a relatively hard and rigid polymer material.

Abstract: A pocket may be applied to an article of clothing, particularly upper body clothing such as a shirt, blouse, jacket, coat, scrubs, t-shirt, sweatshirt, hoodie, or the like. The pocket is oriented at an angle with respect to horizontal (nominal) or vertical (upright) to improve retention of a contained object such as a mobile phone or a personal digital assistant. A return is formed by stitching a partial closure along one side of the pocket, positioned at the lowest “upper” corner of the pocket (upper meaning opening end), closest to the center line of the article of clothing, on either the right or left. Knit fabrics work particularly well for retaining a weighted object such as a mobile phone despite various user movements leaning to one side or the other, forward, and even bent double whereby rendering the article of clothing in an upside down orientation.

Also, a first mesh portion 4 having a tightening force weaker than the tightening force of the strong tightening portion 3 is formed in a section surrounded by the first strong tightening portions 3a.

Abstract: A moisture control garment formed of a material that has moisture wicking (hydrophobic) properties joined to another material that has moisture absorbing (hydrophilic) properties. In certain embodiments, the moisture wicking and moisture absorbing materials are of similar thickness, have the same estimated shrinkage percentage, and the fibers of such materials are positioned in the same direction.

Abstract: Articles of apparel include: (a) a garment structure having one or more fabric elements structured and arranged to provide a close fit to at least one predetermined portion of a body (e.g., area(s) of the body for which enhanced position sensing and/or feedback are desired); and (b) a body position feedback system engaged with or integrally formed as part of the garment structure. The body position feedback system may apply higher tensile or constricting (compressive) forces to selected portions of the wearer's body and/or stretch resistance, which can help stimulate or interact with nerves and deep tissue receptors located in various portions of the body. The increased forces at selected locations of the body give the wearer sensory feedback regarding the position or orientation of these parts of the body and can improve or accelerate development of “muscle memory.

Abstract: A garment has a pocket with an opening located at the waistband of the garment. A strap includes a stretchy membrane and at least one of the opposite ends of the strap extends into openings in the garment to form a horizontal pocket opening. The strap may be made of an elastic material. A fabric can conceal part of the strap and may surround or be attached to the strap. The pocket lining has front and rear walls attached together, with top horizontal portions of the front and rear wall attached behind an exposed portion of the strap. The walls of the pocket lining may be attached to two join seams of the garment. Stretching the strap outwards will open the pocket thus accessing belongings stored therein. When the pocket is closed, the elastic material of the strap provides stretch and recoil, securing any belongings safely inside the pocket.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a reversible shirt that may be worn in at least four different configurations. According to aspects described herein, a first torso element may be joined to a second torso element to create a pair of side seams, a pair of shoulder seams, a neck opening and a waist opening. The widths of the first torso element and the second torso element proximate the waist opening may differ to create curved side seams. The curved side seams allow for variation in drape against a wearer's torso.

Abstract: An elastic tubular undergarment having a plurality of portions is provided. Each portion has a different graphic. The tubular undergarment may be placed over a user's chest. A plunging neckline garment may be placed over the tubular undergarment, thereby exposing only a portion of the tubular undergarment. The tubular undergarment may be rearranged to expose a different portion, and thereby expose a different graphic. The graphic may include at least one of a color, design, and pattern.

Abstract: The claimed subject matter provides a tzitzit garment that meets halachic (e.g., Jewish law) requirements for wearing tzitzit strings (e.g., fringes) on the corners of a four-cornered garment. The tzitzit garment includes two layers, including an under layer that is made of compression material that wicks perspiration away from the body of a wearer and an outer layer that is a four cornered garment, has tzitzit strings at each of the four corners and is attached to the under layer. Furthermore, the claimed subject matter provides a pant garment that includes grips to hold the tzitzit strings in place to prevent interference during physical activity.

Abstract: Laminates are described that contain a frangible layer adhered to at least one extensible layer, such as an elastic layer. In one embodiment, a frangible layer is positioned between two opposing elastic layers. The frangible layer includes lines of separation that generally extend in a first direction. The lines of separation allow the elastic layers to stretch and recover in a direction perpendicular or skew to the lines of separation. In one particular embodiment, the lines of separation comprise lines where the frangible layer has been weakened. The lines of separation can be formed after the laminate is made using groove rolls.

An alternate convertible cover and a method of converting a cover into a cape are also disclosed.

Abstract: Multi-layer fabrics and products incorporating the same are described in which the fabrics are configured to provide asymmetric resistance to liquid flow from one side of the fabric to the other. In garments or other products worn by a user, the effect can be utilized to prevent penetration of liquids (e.g., rain droplets) and contact of liquids from the exterior with the user's skin while allowing for extraction of droplets (e.g., sweat) in contact with an inner layer of the fabric out of contact with the skin and accelerating their evaporation. Medical and industrial applications of the fabric are contemplated as well.

Abstract: A garment for wear by a human body having a localized fat accumulation includes an insulative and perspiration impermeable panel sized to conform to the localized fat accumulation. The garment also includes a supportive cover connected to the panel for retaining the panel in contact to the localized fat accumulation during wear, and a boning segment connected to the panel for supporting and shaping the body during wear. The garment may be in the form of a kit further including a wipe containing an absorbed anticellulite agent. The wipe spreads the anticellulite agent on the body where contacted by the panel during wear.

Second and third fasteners can also connect shoulder straps between the front portion and the back portion. Abstract: Fiber blends useful for garments with a balance of high thermal, abrasion resistance, and moisture management properties are disclosed. The fiber blends comprise a hydrophobic fiber component, a hydrophilic fiber component, a structural fiber component, and an optional antistatic fiber. Yarns, fabrics, and garments comprising the fiber blends are also disclosed. Such garments are particularly useful for occupations requiring high thermal properties and abrasion resistance, such as fire fighters, utility workers, and military personnel, without compromising comfort of the wearers by maintaining breathability and moisture management properties of the fabric.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for an invisible belt incorporated into a garment of clothing. A form-fitting belt portion is incorporated into an interior portion of a garment. The form-fitting belt portion is attached to the interior portion of the garment, such that the belt is completely contained within the interior portion of the garment. The form fitting belt portion may be loosely connected to the interior portion of the garment so as to be not viewable or visible from outside of the garment. The invisible belt further comprises an attachment mechanism on the interior of the garment to facilitate attachment of the form fitting belt portion to the interior of the garment. The form fitting belt portion preferably comprises an elasticized material, such as spandex, Lycra, hosiery material, nylon and other similar elasticized materials. The elasticized material may also be comprised of Viscose.

Abstract: A garment can include at least one opening that allows the garment to be opened up such that a restraint mechanism can be easily secured to a user when opened. The at least one opening can include left and right openings that extend from a bottom most periphery of a torso portion and along respective sleeves of the garment. The garment can be combined with a child seat for use in a vehicle. Each of the openings can either extend entirely through an outermost portion of a respective sleeve cuff or be stoppable immediately adjacent the cuff such that the cuff remains in annular form during use. Abstract: An apparatus for a garment to identify excrements includes a one-piece body garment and a slit. The slit is positioned on a back section of the one-piece body garment adjacent to the buttocks area, and provides access into the one-piece body garment. The slit includes a first welt and a second welt, where the first welt and the second welt are connected to each other in such way that the first welt is positioned atop the second welt. A responsible adult can separate the first welt and the second welt in order to access the diaper within so that the diaper can be checked by the responsible adult for any kind of excrements.
