  • Patent number: 6742226
Abstract: In a slide fastener made of fabric having a stopper portion composed of thermoplastic synthetic resin material, the fastener tape contains a rough-pattern-structure region at least adjacent to a side of the fastener element row on an inner side of the fastener tape. An end portion of the stopper portion on the inner side of the fastener tape is disposed in the rough-pattern-structure region and fused to a foundation structure of the fastener tape in the rough-pattern-structure region. Thus, even if the length of the stopper portion in the tape width direction is short, the stopper portion does not interfere with a sewing machine foot during sewing, so that the sewing line does not meander even at the position near the fastener element row. Further, the end portion of the stopper portion can be fused and fixed to the foundation structure of the rough-pattern-structure region.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for opening/closing a ventilation window of a tent. The apparatus has a fastener for opening/closing the ventilation window for ventilating an inner space of the tent by assembling/disassembling combining members with each other, a hole formed on a body of the fastener, an opening rope of which one end is tied up to the hole, and a closing rope of which one end is tied up to a connection hole formed on a knob combined to a long hole formed on the body of the fastener. The ventilation window is opened as the opening rope is pulled, and closed as the closing rope is pulled. Thus, there is no inconvenience in opening/closing the ventilation window as the user can open/close the ventilation window while he/she sits down on the floor of the tent.

  • Patent number: 6634066
Abstract: In a upper stopper device for a slide fastener having a cross section of a substantially U shape, which is adapted to be attached continuously to a fastener element row of a stringer capable of being engaged with or separated from each other, an end portion of the upper stopper device opposite to the fastener element row is formed with a widened portion, which abuts against wing plates at a shoulder opening of a slider into which the stringer is inserted so that the slider can stop. Further, a caulking portion is formed in a range between the widened portion and at an end portion side toward the fastener element row. The slider abuts against the widened portion of the upper stopper device attached to the stringer so that it reliably stops.

  • Patent number: 6594873
Abstract: A slide closure for joining overlapping edges of flexible or rigid substrates having complementary touch fasteners thereon. The slide closure has a pair of closing surfaces facing each other and structure joining the closing surfaces together so as to define two channels opening in opposite directions. The substrates are received within the channels such that they overlap between the closing surfaces. The closing surfaces converge to a nip having a dimension small enough to cause the complementary touch fasteners to engage when the slide closure is displaced along the overlapping edges in a first direction. The slide closure may further include a spanning member disposed generally between the closing surfaces that serves to structurally join the closing surfaces, partly define the channels on either side, and provide diverging separating surfaces that cause the complementary touch fasteners to disengage when the slide closure is displaced in a second direction opposite the first direction.

An identification yarn containing substance with different optical reactions to irradiation of visible light and to irradiation of infrared rays of a specific wavelength is disposed at a specified position in the tape which is a component of the fastener. As a result, discrimination between genuine and false fasteners can be done safely without damaging the human health.

Abstract: A slider-operated fastener comprises first and second opposing tracks including respective first and second interlocking profiles and respective first and second fins extending downward from the respective first and second profiles. The first and second fins are sealed to each other by a plurality of spaced preseals. After generating each preseal, a notch is formed in the profiles and upper portions of the fins at the generated preseal. To install a slider onto the fastener, the slider is initially positioned within the respective notch and then threaded onto the fastener in response to relative movement of the slider and the fastener. Either before or after the steps of forming each preseal and respective notch and installing the respective slider, the fastener is attached to a moving web of plastic film. The fastener-carrying web is later folded and sealed to form individual plastic bags.

  • Patent number: 6505652
Abstract: A main portion of a fastener tape is woven with transparent or semi-transparent synthetic fiber monofilament yarn as warp yarn and weft yarn. Plural flexible yarns are interwoven into a side edge portion of the fastener tape in a longitudinal direction of the tape so as to form a fastener-element-mounting portion for mounting fastener elements. The fastener-element-mounting portion may be formed of an interwoven portion having a flat surface, in which case continuous fastener elements are to be attached thereto. Alternatively, a swollen core portion may be formed on the surface of the fastener-element-mounting portion, in which case single-type separate fastener elements are to be attached thereto. As a flexible yarn, a finished yarn having a bulk and produced by textured processing multifilament yarn is used so that mounting of the fastener elements are facilitated and the configuration of the fastener tape is stabilized.
