Additionally, a multilayer cast film utilizing a cast film component layer prepared from a Ziegler-Natta catalyzed ethylene and alpha-olefin copolymer is disclosed, wherein the cast film component layer has a cling force of at least 200 grams-force per inch width at 200% pre-stretch, a slow puncture resistance of greater than 50 J/mm, and a TD tear strength of greater than 450 g/mil, with no cling additives present in the cast film component layer.

Abstract: This document discloses algae-derived flexible foams, whether open-cell or closed-cell, with inherent antimicrobial and flame resistant properties, wherein a process of manufacturing includes the steps of: harvesting algae-biomass; sufficiently drying the algae biomass; blending the dried algae biomass with a carrier resin and various foaming ingredients; adding an algal-derived antimicrobial compound selected from various natural sulfated polysaccharides present in brown algae, red algae, and/or certain seaweeds (marine microalgae); and adding a sufficient quantity of dried algae biomass to the formulation to adequately create a fire resistant flexible foam material.

Abstract: This document presents algae-derived antimicrobial fiber substrates, and a method of making the same. The fiber may be a synthetic fiber, but can also be formed as a cellulosic (e.g., cotton). In various implementations, an algae-derived antimicrobial fiber substrate can be made to have identical properties and characteristics of nylon-6 of nylon 6-6 polymer or the like, and yet contain antimicrobial, anti-viral, and/or flame retardant algal derived substances. Any of various species of red algae, brown algae, blue-green algae, and brown seaweed (marine microalgae and/or macroalgae) are known to contain a high level of sulfated polysaccharides with inherent antimicrobial, antiviral, and flame-retardant properties, and can be used as described herein. Additionally disclosed are algae-derived flexible foams, whether open-cell or closed-cell, with inherent antimicrobial, antiviral, and flame resistant properties.

The foam composite may be prepared from a mixture of a polyol, an isocyanate, the particulate filler, and a liquid blowing agent having a boiling point equal to or greater than 25° C. or 30° C.

The biodegradable and compostable multilayer film comprises a sealant product side layer comprising at least one slip additive and having a pre-determined co-efficient of friction, an outer surface layer, and at least one intermediate layer disposed between the sealant product 5 side layer and the outer surface layer. The biodegradable and compostable multilayer film of the present disclosure has good mechanical properties and is non-reactive with tobacco based products, medicines, and food products to be packaged.

Abstract: A type of wool-like polyester filament and preparing method thereof are disclosed. The preparing method is manufacturing filament from a modified polyester through a POY process and a successive DTY processes, wherein the modified polyester is the product of the esterification and the successive polycondensation reactions of evenly mixed terephthalic acid, 1,4-butanediol, fluorinated dicarboxylic acid, tert-butyl branched hexanediol and 2,5,6,6-tetramethyl-2,5-heptanediol. The obtained fiber has a dye uptake of 90.32-93.27% and a K/S value of 22.15-23.42 when dyed at 100° C., and has an intrinsic viscosity drop of 17-20% when stored at 25° C. and R.H. 65% for 60 months. This invention features a method with ease of application and a product with good dyeing and degradation performance.
