  • Publication number: 20100097780
Abstract: A self-contained LED lighting assembly for use in a refrigerated cabinet contains a plurality of LEDs mounted upon a substrate, each using a refractive lens designed to evenly disperse the light emitted from each LED into a flat, wide pattern suitable for lighting the contents of the cabinet. Heat is effectively removed from each LED and transported to an interior air space within the LED lighting assembly housing. The system is designed to replace current lighting systems and is sized fit within the space provided for current lighting systems, without the need for substantial modification, cutting, or removal of the current lighting systems. The assembly may be composed of individual LED lighting modules wired end-to-end to provide a desired length of strip lighting. Upon complete installation, the system provides the same or better lighting using only a fraction of the power required by the system replaced.

Abstract: Each of a pair of lower reflection areas, which are located on both left and right sides of an optical axis in a lower end portion of a reflective surface of a reflector, respectively, is formed so as to converge light from a light source at a position located forward of a rear side focal point of a projection lens in a horizontal direction, and on the same lateral side as that of each of the lower reflection areas with respect to the optical axis. Thus, the pair of light ray bundles are emitted from the projection lens, whereby a pair of additional light distribution patterns are formed on both sides of a lateral direction central portion in an upper area of a high-beam distribution pattern, respectively. The upper area of the high-beam distribution pattern is thus made bright widely in a lateral direction.

Abstract: Miniature bulbs are secured in their holders against twisting by first forming holders with tapered cavities smaller at their bottoms than the bulb, then heating the holders to soften them prior to insertion of the bulb. When the bulb is fully seated and the holder has cooled and firmed up, the holder will conform to the exterior shape of the bulb including the irregularities in its surface caused by the bulb formation process. The snug fit of the holder to the irregularities in the bulb resist the twisting of the bulb.

Abstract: A mesotube apparatus is disclosed which includes a header insulator in order to avoid premature breakdown at lower voltage that occurs between a cathode and an anode in a discharge assembly. A chamber can be mounted on a header base and can be located away from plasma surrounded with dielectric so that breakdown occurs outside the normal voltage operating range. A number of feed-through pins associated with the header base can be electrically isolated from the header base by a dielectric insulator. The dielectric insulator can also be placed over the header base and topside of the chamber in order to passivate from stray electrons and plasma. The header base can be thin which allows welding of the anode and the cathode to the feed-through pins with a weld tool attached to the side of the feed-through pins. The chamber can be located on the header base by tightly fitting to the feed-through pins.
