Then, in response to the received request for the manifest, the manifest may be sent to the client. Next, a request may be received from the client for a file fragment. Then a lookup table may be queried for a first byte location in a media file corresponding to the start time and a second byte location in the media file corresponding to the end time. Next, a portion of the media file between the first byte location and the second byte location may be extracted from the media file. The portion may comprise the file fragment. The file fragment may be sent to the client.

Abstract: In order to receive an image file by a recorder, a user conventionally should explicitly switch the system state to a state for data reception such as an operation for starting communication software and an operation for temporarily switching to a wait screen which can perform a file reception process. In order to solve the aforementioned problem, it is possible to provide an electronic device which identifies the attribute of a received file and a process being executed and performs a process in accordance with them. For this, it is possible to automatically perform an operation based on not only the file type but also the program being executed by the electronic device. Thus, it is possible to execute a desired process without requiring a complicated operation by the user.

Abstract: A cyclic commit protocol is used to store relationships between transactions and is used by the technology to determine whether a transaction is committed or not. The protocol allows creation of a cycle of transactions which can be used to recover the state of a storage device after a host failure by identifying the last committed version of intention records as committed or uncommitted based on the data stored in the physical pages.

Abstract: For clearly identifying a product recorded in an image file provided by a client terminal, a method for identifying a remote pattern method is provided for preventing disputes between consumers and shopping websites. Such disputes are often caused when a conventional shopping website just searches products required by a consumer based on messages provided by the consumer. In the provided method, an image file of a required product of a consumer is identified by a customer service terminal for generating a plurality of keywords related to the required product. The keywords are then inputted into a database for searching. Detailed information about the required product is found according to search results. After the detailed information is examined by the customer service terminal, the examined detailed information is returned to the client at the client terminal.

Abstract: Systems (and corresponding methodologies) that provide an image appliance which alleviates enterprises from custom designing each appliance for specific business processing purposes are disclosed. Enterprises and organizations can easily capture, consolidate, organize and process image files and electronic documents/content from a variety of input sources such as facsimile, electronic mail, multi-function printer devices (MFDs), desktop files, etc. without a need to custom code specific appliances.

Abstract: An approach is provided for selecting a trust factor from trust factors that are included in a trust index repository. A trust metaphor is associated with the selected trust factor. The trust metaphor includes various context values. Range values are received and the trust metaphor, context values, and range values are associated with the selected trust factor. A request is received from a data consumer, the request corresponding to a trust factor metadata score that is associated with the selected trust factor. The trust factor metadata score is retrieved and matched with the range values. The matching results in one of the context values being selected based on the retrieved trust factor metadata score. The selected context value is then provided to the data consumer.

The storage presentation module is operable to provide a first storage interface and a second storage interface via a network interface. Local data conversion information is created identifying the data conversion performed on the retrieved data in response to performing the data conversion. At least one of the retrieved data and the converted data with the created local data conversion information is forwarded to at least one of a distributed database node and an application-level module. Once the lost person is found, the database of information can be utilized to ensure a quick and accurate identification of the person's care provider so that a successful return of the lost person can occur.

To locate a parcel on the physical storage media, a spatial index uses the tile identification. Because the tiles are not uniformly filled with data, the spatial index is organized as a sparse array.

Abstract: A method and system for generating a bilingual dictionary that maps words of the source language to words of a target language is provided. A Cross-Lingual Information Retrieval (“CLIR”) system accesses a parallel collection that is comprised of a parallel source collection and a parallel target collection, and generates a similarity score for sentences of the parallel target collection indicating the similarity of those sentences to sentences of the target collection. When the CLIR system generates a bilingual dictionary from the sentences of the parallel collection, it factors in the similarities of the sentences of the parallel target collection to sentences in the target collection. By factoring these similarities, the CLIR system allows sentences with a high similarity to have a greater influence on the mapping of words of the source language to the words of the target language than sentences with a low similarity.

After an interval, the order of progression is restarted with an out of order packet above a threshold age.
