Abstract: A method of accessing program meta-data is disclosed. The method includes receiving a plurality of program meta-data virtual containers, at least one of the virtual containers comprising normalized program meta-data of programs having instances in a plurality of time windows, receiving an input indicating a selected time window, the input at least one of comprises and refers to a time-window identifier identifying the selected time window, and using the time-window identifier to filter the plurality of virtual containers, so as to obtain a subset of the program meta-data which corresponds to the selected time window. Related apparatus and methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: A system and method for presenting custom variables to a user of a web analytics system. An activity file of a web server is received, wherein the activity file includes activity file hit records that provide information about respective requests for documents made by visitors of web sites. A custom variable tag of an activity file hit record in the activity file is identified. Attribute-value pairs of the custom variable tag are then extracted. The attribute-value pairs of the custom variable tag are stored in a database hit record of a database of the server. One or more attribute-value pairs of a plurality of custom variable tags assigned to the custom variable of the web site are then prepared to be presented to a user, wherein the user is separate and distinct from the authors of the documents of the web site.

Abstract: A user data entry is received at a mobile communications device. After receiving the user data entry, user selections of a first application and a second application are received. In response to the user selections, the user data entry is routed to both the first application and the second application. Additionally, a list of user data entries can be maintained and displayed, allowing the user to select user data entries from the list and also select an application to which a selected user data entry is to be routed.

Abstract: A computer-readable, non-transitory medium stores the system analysis program which can accurately analyze the operational status of a system without modifying functions of the system for providing services. A message analysis unit analyzes the contents of collected messages, and determines the times of occurrence of the messages, the process types requested by the messages, and whether or not each of the messages is a request message or a response message. In response to an instruction for model generation, a model generation unit generates a transaction model satisfying at least one limiting condition related to caller-called relationships between processes, based on a set of messages selected in accordance with a selection criterion based on the certainty of existence of caller-called relationships. Then, in response to an instruction for analysis, an analysis unit analyzes the processing status of a transaction based on a protocol log conforming to the transaction model.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to systems and methods for conditioning the distribution of data in a hierarchical database. A data store can store data in a hierarchical format. Higher-level data, such as yearly profit, may be desired to be spread from parent nodes to lower nodes, such as quarters. Parent nodes can be associated with a set of programmatic placeholder nodes. A spreading tool can insert child nodes representing quarters, months, or other at insertion point(s) represented or encoded by a set of placeholder nodes, dividing quantities appropriately. In aspects, data can be spread from multiple parents at once. In aspects, the spreading tool can access or host sequence logic to ensure that data is spread in an order that takes dependencies, formatting, output connections, or other factors into account.

Abstract: A customer support system enhanced with virtual world features to make the support experience more interactive and pleasant. The system includes a web user interface for web-based customers and an optional voice interface for voice-based customers, a support server and a virtual world component for enhancing the interaction between a customer and the support center. A routing server with virtual world targets route the customer to appropriate support center contacts in the virtual world. The virtual world targets include a “Greeter” avatar for greeting and prompting the customer with support-related questions. The customer is routed to a “CSR” avatar once support information is obtained. Other avatars like “Expert” avatars, “Advisor” avatars, and “Friend” avatars may also join the support session to assist the customer on specific support items, depending on the customer needs.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to systems and methods for the distribution of data in a hierarchical database via placeholder nodes. A data store can store data in a hierarchical schema. Higher-level data, such as yearly profit, may be desired to be spread from parent nodes to lower nodes, such as quarters. Parent nodes can be associated with a set of programmatic placeholder nodes. The placeholder nodes can encode inheritance classes for lower nodes for spreading or other operations, such as division of profit into quarters, months, or other periods. A spreading tool can insert child nodes representing quarters, months, or other periods at the insertion point(s) represented by the placeholder nodes, dividing quantities appropriately. In aspects, data can be spread from multiple parents at once. In aspects, the spreading tool can host or access spreading rules to ensure that data is spread in an order taking dependencies or other factors into account.

Abstract: Devices and methods are disclosed which relate to improving the efficiency of text input by generating a dynamic virtual keyboard. Certain examples display a soft keyboard on a touchscreen of a text-entry device. The touchscreen works with the soft keyboard as a form of text input. Keyboard logic on the text-entry device is programmed to change the footprint of each key within the soft keyboard based on the prior entry. The keyboard logic assigns a prediction value to each key based on a statistical probability that the key will be entered next. The touchscreen displays a dynamic virtual keyboard based on these prediction values. Enhancements include resizing keys and their respective footprints relative to their prediction value. Other examples exploit the possible character sequences and their probabilities in a language and restructuring the keyboard to make text input more efficient. The devices and methods use modeling techniques to dynamically generate the size of the characters on the keyboard.

Abstract: Techniques for social network mapping are described. In an implementation, properties of a user's contacts with two services are analyzed to identify matching contacts. Contacts may be determined to correspond to the same user when sufficient common properties are found between the contacts. For unmatched contacts following the property analysis, additional processing may be conducted to identify contacts that the unmatched contacts have in common. A number of common contacts found through this processing may be used, alone or in combination, with information regarding common properties to determine when unmatched contacts correspond to the same user.

Non-overlapping semantic tokens in the set of topic descriptions are identified. A set of clear target classes from the non-overlapping semantic tokens and the initial target classes is identified. Overlapping semantic tokens from the set of topic descriptions are identified. A set of vague classes is identified from the overlapping semantic tokens and the initial target classes. A set of disambiguation dialogues and a set of grammar prompts is generated according to the overlapping and non-overlapping semantic tokens. The call routing system is then created based on the set of clear target classes, the set of vague target classes, and the set of disambiguation dialogues.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for synchronizing data present in a target data set with data present in a source data set. The data present in the target data set is partitioned to determine a partition definition of the target data set. A target message digest is calculated for the data present in each partition of the target data set. Based upon the partition definition of the target data set, the data present in the source data set is partitioned. A source message digest is calculated for the data present in each partition of the source data set. The source message digest of a partition is compared with the target message digest of a corresponding partition to capture a change in data present in the source data set. Based upon the captured data, the data in the target data set is synchronized with the data in the source data set.

Abstract: Persistent data of virtual machines are migrated between and across data stores using a method that provides for a bounded disk size, low performance overhead, arbitrarily low downtimes, atomic switch-over, and ability to build optimizations based around block level heuristics. The method includes the steps of copying the persistent data at the source data store to the destination data store, updating a bitmap data structure during the copying step to indicate which blocks of the persistent data have been modified during the copying step, identifying the blocks that have been modified during the copying step using the bitmap data structure, and copying the identified blocks to the destination data store. The method may further include the step of determining that the number of the identified blocks is below a predetermined threshold and suspending the virtual machine prior to the second copying step.

Abstract: Each of one or more songs in a song list is analyzed to determine whether the song satisfies a set of criteria at its current location. For each of the one or more songs that satisfies the set of criteria, the song is kept at its current location in the song list. For each of the one or more songs that does not satisfy the set of criteria, an attempt is made to select (e.g., randomly) another song in an unprocessed portion of the song list that satisfies the set of criteria. If a selected song satisfies the set of criteria then the song and the selected song are swapped.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing information for use in a runtime environment that restricts access such information. An executable is launched prior to launching the runtime environment or runtime application. The executable retrieves information and makes that information available for use in the runtime, for example, by storing the information in a runtime file system area. The runtime or runtime application can then access the information. For example, the executable may retrieve information from a host operating system and then launch a runtime application that uses the information. An application that executes within a runtime and requires runtime external information can be provided as a bundle that includes an executable and the application itself. When the bundle is launched, the executable executes first to retrieve the information and make it available for the runtime. The runtime is then launched and provides the runtime application which can use the information.

Abstract: Video processing in general and image processing in particular is a very complex process. This is more so when the analysis is required to extract information from the images for providing of the same directly or indirectly to the users. This additional complexity is due to the direct competition with users who are used to analyzing of the images both syntactically and semantically. One of the ways to contain the complexity of image analysis is to exploit the domain semantics during image processing. A system and method to help in semantics based image processing involves the identification of one or more domain relevant semantic hierarchies and using of the same during image processing.

Abstract: The different advantageous embodiments provide a method for identifying changes in data sets. An ending version for a data set is received. A beginning version for the data set is identified. The ending version for the data set is compared with the beginning version for the data set. A number of differences is calculated between the ending version and the beginning version. A data structure is created that identifies the number of differences between the ending version and the beginning version.

Abstract: Systems and methods are illustrated that relate to a web application running on a server accessible from the Internet. Aspects of the disclosure relate to the dynamic update of web applications/pages on third-party websites using an AJAX framework. Abstract: An intelligent electronic device (IED) includes a user authentication module configured for authenticating authorized users of the IED and preventing an access by non-authorized personnel to a user-selectable portion of operational features of the IED. In exemplary embodiments, the user authentication module includes a database of information authenticating an authorized user and a sensor acquiring user-identifying information (e.g., a biometric sensor, a reader of magnetic, holographic, RFID, or smart ID cards, or a keypad). In one application, these techniques are implemented in IEDs such as electrical power and energy meters and used to control access to reset, configuration, billing, communication, and data acquisition/processing functions of the meters.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for managing a database in a photo-image discovery device. A photo-image discovery device acquires photo-images from a photo-capable device, and automatically classifies the acquired photo-images, without user intervention, in a database management directory. Then, the acquired photo-images are managed in a photo-image discovery device storage-in-transit memory using database management directory rules cross-referenced to classification. For example, the method may uplink photo-images to a network-connected site in response to their classification. Photo-image classification may be based upon photo-capable device type, photo-capable device ID, image creation data, image creation location, or file format.

Abstract: A control system for data storage can prevent data loss while a connection between an electronic device and a storage device is disconnected. When the connection between the electronic device and the storage device is disconnected, data is stored in a backup device. When the connection between the electronic device and the storage device is reconnected, data stored in the backup device is transferred to the storage device to prevent data loss during the connection between the electronic device and the storage device was disconnected.

Abstract: Systems and methods according to these exemplary embodiments provide for optimizing network resource usage and facilitating exchange of user capabilities information. This can occur by creating a view which shows all of the methods or services which are available for contacting a particular user, which information is viewable by other users of the network. This then improves communications by reducing the potential for one user to attempt to communicate with another user via a method which a user does not support.

Embodiments of the present invention may allow attribute values associated with data records to be assembled and presented in a unified manner. More particularly, embodiments of the present invention may utilize a set of locally stored identity information associated with a data record to determine a set of logical procedures operable to retrieve values for one or more non-identity attributes from a remote location. Furthermore, other embodiments of the present invention may apply a logical procedure to the values of the attributes corresponding to data records to select one or more values of one or more attributes of the data records.

Abstract: The subject disclosure pertains to systems and methods for connecting pipeline components such as data flow pipeline components. Pipeline components are wrapped in metadata components that include the component as well as abstracted metadata in the form of input and output metadata descriptors. A connector can arbitrate metadata differences between pipeline components based on the metadata descriptors, thereby preventing upstream modifications from invalidating or breaking components downstream. Native or plug-in heuristic and/or related components can provide the functionality necessary to resolve metadata differences.

The selected differential data store is copied into temporary storage media, where the copying is not delayed after receiving the first request to await receipt of more requests. The particular data object is inserted into the copy of the selected differential data store in the temporary storage media, where the inserting is performed without having to retrieve more data from the selected differential store in the persistent storage media.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for seamlessly switching media playback between a media broadcast, such as a radio broadcast, and media from a local media library. When an electronic device determines that an upcoming media item in a media broadcast is not of interest to a user, the electronic device can switch playback from the media stream to a media item from the electronic device local library. The selected local media item can be related to a previously broadcast media item to ensure continuity in the user's listening or viewing experience. The electronic device can switch away from the local media item and return to the media stream when the media stream again broadcasts media items or segments of interest to the user.

Abstract: Managing controlled content on a web page is disclosed. A web page is analyzed. Controlled content and revenue-generating code are detected on the web page. A party to contact is determined based on the revenue-generating code or the controlled content.

Abstract: A system and a method for sharing web pages. In some embodiments, the following operations are preformed at a client computer system having one or more processors that execute one or more programs stored in memory of the client computer system. A representation of a web page that is displayed in a window of a web browser in a user interface of the client computer system is generated. The representation of the web page is partitioned into a plurality of tiles based on a document object model of the web page. For each tile in the plurality of tiles, it is determined whether the tile has changed relative to a previous version of the tile. In response to determining that the tile has changed, the tile that has changed is sent to a server.

Abstract: The transfer of prescription medication requests from a physician to an individual is automated through the use of a clearinghouse function that interacts with both the physician and client. Maintaining the security of prescriptions, while simultaneously providing the advantages of electronic transfer is met the secure transmission of prescription information to a clearinghouse and the generation of a prescription that a user may then take to any pharmacy that is in communication with the clearinghouse. The prescription is only issued after the physician is verified by the clearinghouse as a valid prescription author, and the prescription is generated without sensitive data such that security is maintained if the prescription is lost. The clearinghouse, when contacted by a validated pharmacy, will issue information regarding the prescription when a valid, non-expired prescription identifier is entered into the system to the pharmacy.
