An indication of an archive data protection kind and an archive data protection duration are received. In response to receiving the archive data protection kind and the archive data protection duration, an archive scheme is determined and an archive protection plan representative of the archive scheme is generated.

Abstract: There is provided a system and method for real-time media presentation using metadata clips. There is provided a media device for providing one or more media files for a display, the media device including a memory and a processor. The memory includes a plurality of metadata clips, wherein each of the plurality of metadata clips references a referenced source media from the media files, a referenced start position, and a referenced end position. The processor can determine a playlist including some of the plurality of metadata clips for streaming segments of media files as defined by their referenced start and end positions. Flexible behaviors can also be added to enhance playback logic or to enforce access restrictions, and metadata clips and playlists may also be user generated.

Abstract: A method for the real-time metatagging and captioning of an event. The method for the real-time metatagging and captioning of an event may include embedding metatag information in a caption file provided by a captioner. The embedded metatag information may allow a user to access additional information via the text of the captioned event. The metatag information may be embedded using a captioning device that creates both the text code and embeds the metatag code.

Abstract: Organization and assignment of access privileges to resources in a computer network. The resources of the network are organized into a hierarchical tree structure, with each node in the tree representing a resource, resource group, or resource instance. Read and/or write permission to one or more resources may be explicitly granted to the resource or implicitly granted based upon the location of the resource in the hierarchical structure. The access rights attach to the resource(s). Upon movement of the resource within the tree structure or to an alternate tree structure, the access rights associated therewith remain with the relocated resource.

The server extracts a file containing a part related to the received update information, and judges whether or not the extracted file has been copied and then transmitted to a different client. If judging that the extracted file has been copied and transmitted to the different client, the server transmits warning information to the different client to which the extracted file has been transmitted, the warning information indicating that the file is updated in the client other than the different client.

Abstract: A system and method for managing a queue may receive a selection of an image, symbol, or avatar from a user. The user may be associated with the selected image, which may provide an anonymous connection to the user. Computing devices that execute the software product receive a manifest that specifies the manner in which instrumentation metrics are collected and reported, including what instrumentation metrics are collected. Based on the manifest, an instrumentation metrics client associated with a software product may retrieve instrumentation data from a software product or other sources. The metrics client may then generate one or more instrumentation metrics, based on the instrumentation data, in accordance with instructions in the manifest. The metrics client may then take one or more actions based on the instrumentation metrics and the manifest, such as reporting the information to an instrumentation metrics server for aggregation and analysis by the metrics server or performing escalation actions that can modify the metrics collected and reported.

Abstract: A data mapping tool facilitates database engineer interaction with a data mapping document design system that facilitates creating the technical specification for migrating legacy databases. The data mapping tool provides a flexible selection of mapping modes, including a fully automated mode that resolves conflicts that may occur during the creation of the technical specification. The available modes also allow the database engineer to fully specify the intermediate staging tables used in the technical specification, and to request an partially automatic and partially interactive role over the execution of the data mapping document design system.

The server includes a software application adapted to recognize an expected class of electronic documents corresponding to the medical office. The method also includes processing the electronic documents received from the medical office to extract data therefrom based on a recognition that the electronic documents belong to the expected class of electronic documents corresponding to the medical office. The method also includes automatically mapping the extracted data from the processed electronic documents to a data repository on the server. The data repository is accessible by the medical office through the network interface.

Abstract: A method for configuring software modules that includes accessing a properties repository that includes a plurality of properties of the execution environment of the computer system. The method further includes generating a configuration file for each software module. Generating a configuration file includes obtaining a generator module defined for the software module, and executing the generator module to instantiate the configuration file for the software module. The generator module is configured to identify a property required for the configuration file, obtain the value for the property from the properties repository, and store the value for the property in the configuration file in accordance with a customized format required by the software module. The method further includes storing the configuration file for each of the software modules.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for abstracting write acceleration techniques and tape acceleration techniques away from transport providers (e.g., away from an FC or FCIP interlink between two storage area networks) and allowing acceleration to be provided as a service by nodes within the storage area network (SAN). Doing so allows the acceleration service to be provided anywhere in the SAN. Further, doing so allows users to scale the acceleration service as needed, without having to create awkward topologies of multiple VSANS. Further still, as the acceleration service is offered independently from the transport, compression, encryption, and other services may be offered as part of the transport between the FC/FCIP connection along with the acceleration service.

Abstract: A method and a system are provided for recognizing a disc. In one example, the system receives a disc, such as, for example, a Blu-ray Disc. The disc includes a content certificate and data files. The content certificate includes a unique text file that certifies the disc complies with predetermined disc parameters. The data files are the actual audio and/or video content on the disc. The system reads the content certificate or reads the data related to the data files. The system generates a hash value by applying a hash function to the content certificate or to the data related to the data files. The hash value is a unique identifier for the disc.

Abstract: A method for generating enhanced map data includes generating a geocoded graphic of an area using a map portal, the graphic including a recommended route, and then transforming landmark data including traffic control device information for the route into representative icons. The icons are overlaid onto the route to form at least part of the enhanced map data, which is displayed on a computer display. A data server in communication with at least one information source and a computer device having a display screen includes a central processing unit (CPU) and an algorithm executable by the CPU. Execution of the algorithm generates the enhanced map data using information from the information source, and automatically displays the enhanced map graphic on the display screen of the computer device. The icons can also be embedded within text-based driving directions that are generated as another part of the enhanced map data.

The system and method operates by processing a manifest to generate an instance space model of a computer network, wherein the manifest refers to a type space model of a computer network and includes an encoding that conveys parameters that are used to inflate the type space model of the computer network into the instance space model of the computer network. The type space model may comprise an object-relational directed graph that describes a plurality of potential directed graph instances and the instance space model may comprise one of the plurality of potential directed graph instances.

Abstract: Various technologies and techniques are disclosed for integrating structured accounting data with unstructured data. From an application that manages structured accounting data related to an entity, a user selection is received to create a document container for a collaboration tool. The document container is used for storing unstructured data related to the entity. In response to the selection of the create option, a site creation service is launched for automatically creating the document container using settings previously specified by an administrator on a configuration screen of the application. Once the document container is created, unstructured data related to the entity is stored in the document container. The user can view and navigate between the structured accounting data and unstructured data without having to leave the application. Unstructured data is automatically published to the document container for the entity as users interact with the application.

Abstract: The learning method taught in this patent document is significantly different from previous methods for automatic classification of citations that are labor intensive and subject to human bias and error. The present invention automatically generates and avoids these limitations. A set of operational definitions and features uniquely suited to the scientific literature is disclosed along with their use with a learning method that is capable of analyzing the textual content of articles along with bibliometric data to accurately classify instrumental citations.

Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are disclosed for automated multi-device, multi-persona wireless SIM management. A virtual SIM database associated with a user is maintained on the mobile service provider's network. Such a virtual SIM database contains multiple personas for that user. For each of the user devices they wish to use on the mobile service network, the user is furnished with one “stub” SIM to be installed on the user device, onto which may be loaded any one of the personas maintained by the virtual SIM database. Upon an event, a selected user device downloads a selected persona from the network and loads it onto its stub SIM, so that the selected device is now registered on the network with that persona.

The quality score may be updated when a change is made to the content.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the present invention overcome I/O bottlenecks of an EDA work flow by keeping layout data distributed during handoffs among different processing stages. Specifically, some embodiments leverage a concurrent computation paradigm where data is propagated incrementally between stages, and where data processing among consecutive stages and the I/O between stages are executed concurrently. Specifically, some embodiments can generate a template database which contains the unique templates in a set of templates. During operation, an embodiment can determine a set of templates for a layout. Next, the system can determine a processing schedule based on a spatially coherent ordering of the set of templates. Next, the system can process the templates according to the spatially coherent processing schedule.

A burn graph can then be generated from the playlist, where the burn graph represents the expected effort level of a user who is exercising while listening to the playlist. The expected effort level can be determined by analyzing, for example, the beats per minute, tempo, mood, brightness, or genre of the media in the playlist. Additional user information such as, for example, a user's weight, age, height, stride length, resting heart rate, data from prior workouts, user's mood, or any combination of the above, can be taken into account when generating the burn graph.

The global communication handler also receives data from the Flex application, and writes that data to the EAS database.

Abstract: A sequence of fixed-size blocks defines a page (e.g., in a server system, storage subsystem, DASD, etc.). Each fixed-size block includes a data block and a footer. A high performance block storage metadata unit associated with the page is created from a confluence of the footers. The confluence of footers has space available for application metadata. In an embodiment, the metadata space is utilized to record a “write activity level” metric, and a timestamp. The metric indicates the write frequency or “hotness” of the page, and its value changes over time as the activity level changes. Storage subsystem performance may be enhanced by mapping frequently accessed pages to higher performance physical disks and mapping infrequently accessed pages to lower power physical disks. This approach is advantageous in that the metric is recorded on a non-volatile basis and may be readily communicated between system components (e.g., between a host computer and a storage subsystem).

In one embodiment, digital media assets that a user previously downloaded to a user client device from a remote media repository can be made available to the user for subsequent re-download. Advantageously, a remote media repository can, in effect, provide users with a remote backup for previously acquired digital media assets.
