Abstract: A two-terminal electronic fuse device involves two switches, four diodes, switch control circuitry, and a storage capacitor, connected in a particular topology. When AC current flows through the fuse, a charging current charges the storage capacitor. Energy stored in the storage capacitor is then used to power the switch control circuitry. If the voltage on the storage capacitor drops, then the switches are opened briefly and at the correct time. Opening the switches allows the charging current to flow. By opening the switches and charging the storage capacitor only at times of low current flow through the fuse, the disturbance of load current flowing through the fuse is minimized. If an overload current condition is detected, then the fuse has tripped and first and second switches are opened. If the capacitor does not need charging and there is no overload condition, then the switches remain closed.

The reset circuit provides the reset signals to the controller to control the first driving mode and the second driving mode of the display panel. The display device may thus switch between first and second driving modes during operation in either of the first or second driving modes, thereby improving a stain and a color difference of a displayed image.

Abstract: Power switch cells (20) respectively includes power switches (21), each of which is capable of performing switching between electrical connection and disconnection between a global power supply line (11) and a local power supply line (8) in accordance with a control signal (CTR). The power switches (21) are connected in a chain state to constitute a chain connection through which the control signal (CTR) is sequentially transmitted. A starting point switch (21a) in the chain connection has a greater distance to an edge (BE) of a region occupied by a power domain than an ending point switch (21b).

Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a network forwarding element that can be dynamically reconfigured to adjust its data message processing to stay within a desired operating temperature or power consumption range. In some embodiments, the network forwarding element includes (1) a data-plane forwarding circuit (“data plane”) to process data tuples associated with data messages received by the IC, and (2) a control-plane circuit (“control plane”) for configuring the data plane forwarding circuit. The data plane includes several data processing stages to process the data tuples. The data plane also includes an idle-signal injecting circuit that receives from the control plane configuration data that the control plane generates based on the IC's temperature. Based on the received configuration data, the idle-signal injecting circuit generates idle control signals for the data processing stages.

Abstract: This disclosure includes a battery, an electricity input part for receiving electricity supplied from an external device, a charging controller for charging the battery with the electricity having been supplied via the electricity input part, and a controller for controlling execution of automatic backup. When the electricity input part is connected to the external device and there is data to be subjected to the automatic backup, until the automatic backup is completed, the controller compares a remaining capacity of the battery with a threshold, and executes the automatic backup when the remaining capacity is higher than the threshold. The controller is configured not to execute the automatic backup when the remaining capacity is equal to or lower than the threshold.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods that reduce power consumption for an electronics device including a display. The systems and methods alter video information in a display area and reduce power for a display device when a graphics item is enlarged and the enlargement threatens to increase perceived luminance for the graphics item or increase aggregate luminance for the display area. Altering the video information reduces the luminance of video information in at least the graphics item when enlarged. This may offset perceived luminance gained by human visual processing when an item increases in size. If the graphics item is smaller than the display area after enlargement, then other video information in the display area may also be altered to conserve power.

  • Patent number: 10671136
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for detecting and recovering from faults in computing devices. The faults being detected may consume amounts of power within normal consumption parameters of the device, such as under upper-current protection limits of a power adapter. The power adapter may include components which prevent power from being supplied to the device if the current drawn by the device is not periodically reduced to less than a threshold amount of current. The device may include logic which causes the device to periodically reduce the current drawn from the power adapter to less than the threshold amount of current to reset a timer of the components of the power adapter. Thus, the device may periodically reduce the current drawn when the device is operating normally, but fail to reduce the current drawn when experiencing a fault, which results in the power adapter shutting off power to the faulted device.
