Abstract: The Rotating Billboard is an improvement of the structures which are now being used by outdoor billboard operators in the industry. The current standard of the contemporary billboard structure consists of a steel frame on which a high resolution advertising material is tied using steel wires and illuminated using front-lit metal halides using steel light supports. The weight of the frame is supported by a series of web-like large steel angle bars and thrushes engineered to fully secure the structure in case of adverse weather conditions. The base is bolted through a concrete slab which is buried deeply beneath the ground. The Rotating Billboard is a smaller structure and may be strategically located on areas where the contemporary billboard could not. The frame of the Rotating Billboard is composed of four sides and is illuminated from the inside.

Abstract: A tab extending from a panel is inserted into a channel through an opening in a vertically aligned bracket supported by a pole. The bracket includes a pair of plates positioned in spaced overlying relation and connected by a brace to form the channel between the plates. The panel is first moved in a vertical direction until an upper tab is inserted through a slot formed by a stop positioned in the channel at a predetermined distance from the brace. The upper tab guides a notch in the panel to receive the stop until the stop contacts the bottom of the notch. Thereafter the panel is rotated in the channel until a lower tab is aligned with a second slot formed by a second stop at the opposite end of the channel. The panel is further moved until the second tab is positioned in the second slot to guide a second notch in the panel to receive the second stop and securely retain the panel in the bracket channel.

  • Publication number: 20110035978
Abstract: A sign bracket for over-road highway signs and other signs. The bracket comprised of a first assembly attached to the sign and a second assembly attached to a support structure. A shear pin is provided to prevent relative movement between the first assembly and second assembly in its normal state. When sufficient pressure is exerted on the sign torque is imparted onto the first assembly relative to the second assembly and the shear pin shears and the first assembly is freed to rotate approximately ninety degrees in either direction to relative to the torque. The sign is essentially laid flat either face up from wind force striking the face of the sign or face down from wind striking the rear of the sign. When the sign is laid flat it produces substantially reduced wind resistance and the support structure remains intact. The sign may then easily re-erected by insertion of a new shear pin.

Abstract: The present invention provides a signboard assembly, which is constructed such that, when external force is applied to a signboard, the signboard is rotated, and, when the external force is removed therefrom, the signboard is automatically returned to its original position. The signboard assembly includes the signboard (20) for expressing information, a support unit (30), which rotatably supports the signboard, an elastic member (58), which applies elastic force to the support unit to return the support unit to its original position, and a weight member (80), which maintains the original installation position of the signboard. The signboard assembly of the present invention having the above-mentioned construction is advantageous in that, even if a relatively large external force is applied to the signboard, the signboard is prevented from being damaged and is easily returned to its original position.

Abstract: A flag warning system is paramount because it increases the safety of a dock-loading area. Often times, workers and machinery are moving in and out of trailers to either load or load trailers, and it is important to insure that the truck is not moved inadvertently, thereby preventing damage to individuals and equipment. This is a simple dock warning system that will alert the driver by simply rotating a flag so that the flag is either visible or not visible to alert the driver to move or not move the trailer. When the flag is visible to the driver when he or she looks in the rearview mirror, the load is safe to be pulled. If the driver does not see the flag, he or she should not pull the load.
