  • Patent number: 8292104
Abstract: A safety bottle cap for preventing damage from anti-burglary tearing flanges has an opening, a cover and a two-layer tear ring between the opening and the aperture on the cover. A lower stop flange is protruded on the lower section of the opening. An upper stop flange is located at a spacing with the lower stop flange. A hooking edge is protruded on the inner side of the aperture. The tear ring has upper and lower rings, ribs arranged to link the rings, an outward flange protruded on exterior of the upper ring, an upper abutting edge protruded on the inner side of the upper ring and a lower abutting edge protruded on the inner side of the lower ring. The safety bottle cap allows the cover to be opened smoothly without spurs on the aperture, thus realizing anti-burglary identification and improving protection against mouth injury.

  • Patent number: 8292111
Abstract: Tamper-resistance is provided in spice container closures and containers through use of tamper-evident and/or tamper-resistant elements. A tamper evident closure includes a base, a cover, and a tamper strip, with the tamper strip being joined to the base and cover by a first hinge connecting the tamper strip to the base and a second hinge connecting the tamper strip to the cover. At least one dispensing port in the base is selectively coverable by a flap of the cover. The tamper strip is adapted to be manually torn away and fully released from the cover and base. The flap is hinged to the cover by a third hinge. In addition, or alternatively, a snap lock connection is formed between a container closure and the container.

  • Patent number: 8286817
Abstract: A multi-section lid for a can containing edible material includes a lid base, a cover portion, and a tear strip. The lid base can attach the lid to the can. The lid base defines one or more openings that permit access to the edible material. The cover portion includes one or more doors to cover the openings. The tear strip portion is positioned between the lid base and the cover portion. The tear strip portion is connected to the lid base and the cover portion by a plurality of bridges. The mold for forming the lid includes cavities that define flow channels that permit the lid material to flow through bridge cavities to fill the cavities in the mold during formation of the lid such that the lid base, the cover portion, and the tear strip portion are the single integral component.

  • Patent number: 8272522
Abstract: A closure for a container, the closure including a spout having a dispensing nozzle and a tip attached to the spout at a break-away junction. The break-away junction is recessed from the nozzle such that a user is protected from rough or jagged edges that may be created when the tip is broken away from the spout. The spout also has an orifice that is smaller than the dispensing nozzle for controlling the rate or amount of product dispensed from the container, the orifice remaining intact when the tip is broken away from the spout. The tip is sufficiently flexible to absorb an impact, such as from the container being dropped, but is sufficiently stiff that a user can fracture the break-away junction by applying sideways force to the tip. The closure may be attached to the container by a cap body or may be formed integrally with the container.

  • Patent number: 8256636
Abstract: A tamper-evident package includes a flexible lid sealed to a flange of a container. A localized region of the flange defines a break tab that can be broken to detach a small portion, such as a corner, of the flange from the rest of the flange, in order to begin peeling back the lid to open the package. The lid is affixed to the detachable portion of the flange in a manner effectively preventing the lid from being detached from it. At least that part of the lid overlying the break tab can be sufficiently transparent that the broken or unbroken condition of the break tab can be seen through the lid from an upper side thereof. The break tab thereby serves to indicate whether the lid has been at least partially peeled back.

  • Patent number: 8251242
Abstract: A container having a base, a lid, and a tamper-evident, closed band. The base includes a sealing section and defines a space and an opening at a periphery that has an outwardly extending base flange with a contact surface. The lid has a lid sealing section and an outwardly extending lid flange having a contact surface. The base sealing section and the lid sealing section form a reclosable snap fit. • Publication number: 20120187126
Abstract: The invention is a reusable single-piece tamper-evident cover for beverage containers that provides restoration of protection of the container's cover after each re-dressing. All the tamper-evident parts are only in the cover itself and the cover covers the container's drinking area. The cover comprises at least one tamper-evident seal that is inseparable from the cover and extends from at least part of the clasp ring, wherein the clasp ring is configured to prevent removing the cover as long as all tamper-evident seals are intact, wherein all tamper-evident seals are configured so that they are breachable. When the tamper-evident seal is breached, the general integrity of the cover's inner surface is preserved. Therefore, once the cover is re-dressed, protection of the drinking area from outside contamination is restored and the freshness of the container's content is preserved, which is especially useful for sparkling drinks and for people constantly on the move.

  • Patent number: 8123064
Abstract: A container which indicates if the lid (14) has been opened after a clerk loaded food into the base (12) and closed the lid. The base and lid each has a trapping portion (20, 22) and a pull-open portion (24, 32) with a tear-tab, or tear -open barrier (80). To close the lid, a clerk projects a tab (30) on the pull-open portion of the lid through a slot (26) in the pull-open portion of the base, and then presses down the entire trapping portion of the lid into the trapping portion of the base. The lid cannot be lifted up because the tear-open barrier (80) forming the top wall of the slot lies over the tab. To open the container, a person tears the barrier (80, FIG. 8) along a tear line (90, 92) extending from the slot (26) to the outer edge (50) of the base, or the person tears the tab to leave a short tab part that clears the barrier. The tab has a partially vertical stiffener (77) to prevent radially inward tab movement through the slot.

  • Patent number: 8025825
Abstract: A method for the compression molding of a plastic part including a neck which is equipped with an orifice, in which a blank is created and compressed. The part is molded with a neck which is equipped with a top wall including a thin area with a notch, the contour of this thin area defining the orifice, and two zones which can withstand the mechanical stress necessary in order to break the top wall at the notch. One of the two zones is intended to transmit the mechanical stress and the other is used as a support. The section of the notch is slightly inclined in relation to the axis of the neck. After molding, mechanical stress is applied to one part of the top wall, other than the thin area, so that the top wall tears at the notch, thereby producing the dispensing orifice.
