Abstract: A resin forming method and a resin forming apparatus for obtaining a resin formed product, by filling a cavity of a rubber-made mold with a thermoplastic resin, and cooling the thermoplastic resin. When filling the cavity with the thermoplastic resin, an electromagnetic wave generator is used, and electromagnetic waves having an intensity peak in a wavelength region of 0.78 to 2 ?m are irradiated to the thermoplastic resin from the surface of the mold, and thereby the thermoplastic resin is heated selectively from the mold. The thermoplastic resin is an ABS resin which either a noncrystalline thermoplastic resin, or is a rubber modified thermoplastic resin.

Abstract: An injection molding shutoff assembly includes a chamber containing a movable body that is biased to a rear position in the chamber by a magnet in the movable body. In the rear position, the movable body provides a seal and prevents flow of molten plastic through the assembly. When the movable body is in a forward position, one or more passages permit flow of the molten plastic around the movable body and to an exit in the chamber, leading to one or more molds. An injection molding machine nozzle tip has a beveled front end which, when in an engaged position, seals with an exterior seat of the assembly block defining the chamber and protrudes into the chamber to prop the movable body to the forward position. A portion of the assembly block proximate the opening for the nozzle tip is made of ferromagnetic material, while the rest is not.

  • Patent number: 7914725
Abstract: A plastic end disk for a hollow-cylindrical filter element has an end face plastic layer and a neighboring plastic layer. The end face plastic layer is transparent for infrared radiation. The neighboring plastic layer is absorbent for infrared radiation. The plastic end disk is connected to a folded filter medium in that the end face plastic layer is trans-irradiated with an infrared radiation source, wherein the infrared radiation is absorbed in the neighboring plastic layer so that a portion of the neighboring plastic layer and a portion of the end face plastic layer are completely melted. The infrared radiation source is removed and the filter medium is pressed into a melted area of the end face plastic layer. The filter medium is secured in the pressed-in position in the end face plastic layer until a fixed connection of filter medium and end face plastic layer has been formed.

  • Patent number: 7910033
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an image display device includes the step of forming a cured resin layer 15 by interposing a photo-curable resin composition between a base 2 including an image display unit such as a liquid crystal display panel 8 and a light-transmitting protection member 3 including a light-shielding member 5 and then photo-curing the photo-curable resin composition. In this method, a resin composition having a curing shrinkage ratio of 5% or less, yielding a cured product having a storage elastic modulus at 25° C. of 1.0×107 Pa or less, and forming the cured resin layer having a light transmittance of 90% or more in the visible range is used as the photo-curable resin composition.

  • Patent number: 7910795
Abstract: A technique for imparting latent elasticity to components of an absorbent article is provided. More specifically, a latent elastic film that contains a crosslinkable semi-crystalline polyolefin is initially incorporated into an absorbent article. The film is not highly elastic prior to crosslinking and is thus dimensionally stable. Consequently, the film need not be maintained in a mechanically stretched condition during attachment to other components of the absorbent article, which provides for greater freedom in the location and manner in which the components are attached together. Once incorporated into the absorbent article, the semi-crystalline polyolefin is crosslinked to form a three-dimensional network having elastic memory. The film may also be heat activated, either through crosslinking or an additional step, to cause the film to shrink and further improve its stretch characteristics.

  • Patent number: 7862319
Abstract: The invention relates to an adjustment method, especially for the adjustment of optical or fiber optical components, whereby a partial region of an actuator is locally heated in such a defined manner that compressive stresses are created therein as a result of the restricted thermal expansion of said heated partial region, caused by at least one other partial region of the actuator. If the yielding point ? of the material of the partial region is exceeded, said compressive stresses lead to the plastic compression of the heated partial region. Furthermore, said heated partial region is contracted during cooling and leads to a defined modification of the geometry of the actuator following the cooling process. Tensile stresses are created as a result of a restriction of said contraction by means of at least one other partial region in the previously heated partial region, and compressive stresses are frozen in the at least one other region.
