Abstract: A quick cam latch mechanism having an operatively coupled bolt and cam assembly disposed in a latch housing. A handle is coupled to the cam assembly for moving the bolt between an extended or engaged position and a retracted or disengaged position. The cam assembly includes a primary cam operatively coupled to a secondary cam or linkage that is in turn operatively coupled to the bolt. Rotation of the primary cam translates into increased pivoting of the linkage and thereby increased retraction of the bolt. As a result, less rotation of primary cam is needed to retract the bolt. In an example embodiment of the invention, at least two linkages are utilized to quickly retract the bolt regardless of the direction of rotation of the handle.

Abstract: A latching device, which includes a lock frame mechanism fitted to a door and a corresponding latching mechanism fitted to a door frame. The lock frame mechanism is fixed to the inner side of the door, and is provided with a long locking arm able to horizontally swing, and the latching mechanism is provided with an extensible latch. When the latching device forms an unlatched state, the latch retracts to the side of the latching mechanism side, thereby achieving the effectiveness of preventing people from getting caught on a latch button when passing in and out and further giving an integrated aesthetic appearance to the door assembly.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a latch assembly for releasably latching two components, including at least two of a latch base, a dowel, and a latch pin, wherein the latch pin is moveable with respect to the latch base. The latch assembly may be part of a latch system which includes the latch assembly and a receiving assembly and which can be used in storage containers, such as, a vehicle storage container.
Abstract: A latch mechanism is provided for locking a cover unit to a base unit which comprises a bottom panel and a cover panel fixed to the bottom panel. Two through holes are defined in the cover panel. The latch mechanism includes two latch members configured for being slidably installed to the bottom panel and between the bottom panel and the cover panel, two hooks installed on the cover unit, a button movably fixed to the bottom panel, and a first resilient member. Each of the latch members includes a latch portion. The hooks are configured for extending through the through holes of the cover panel to engage with the latch portions of the latch members respectively. The button includes two driving portions for driving the latch members to slide to disengage from the hooks respectively. The first resilient member is connected between the latch members for restoring the latch members.
Abstract: A pin assembly includes a spring held in compression inside a case by a thermal fuse located at the back end of the pin. The fuse is thermally activated to collapse, which allows the back end of the pin to move forward. The spring drives the front end of the pin out of the case into latching engagement between a first object, such as a fire door, and a second object, such as a floor or a doorframe. The fuse and spring are located on opposite sides of a restrictive opening at the back end of the case. The fuse is preferably cylindrical, surrounds the back end of the pin and is provided with holes oriented perpendicular to the cylindrical axis of the fuse forming a web. The holes weaken the fuse and cause it to collapse in a controlled manner at the desired activation temperature.
Abstract: The self-latching device comprises a frame (11, 17, 21, 24, 31) arranged to be mounted on the hinged closure member, in particular on a gate, a latch bolt (7) movably mounted on the frame in a horizontal direction between a latching position and a retracted position, a latch bolt spring (70) arranged to bias the latch bolt (7) into the latching position, and operator means (10) mounted on top of the frame so as to be operable from both sides of the closure member (2) and connected by means of a latch bolt operating mechanism to the latch bolt (7) for moving it from the latching to the retracted position. The self-latching device is especially suited for being mounted in a vertical tubular member of or fixed to a safety gate around an area which is dangerous for children, in particular around a swimming pool area.
Abstract: An improved version of a solenoid-releasable Baldwin® mortise lockset having thumb-lever actuators is provided. Components from a thumb-lever-actuated mortise lockset are combined with those of a knob-actuated mortise lock from the same manufacturer. The sheet metal of the rocking bolt-locking plate of the knob-actuated lockset and of the exterior thumb-lever actuator bracket from the other lockset are thinned in certain regions. In addition, a new vertical-to-horizontal motion converter arm has been designed and installed in the improved lockset. A rounded upper portion of the new converter arm operates on a bottom edge of the bolt-locking plate, causing it to pivot and release the latch bolt. The new converter arm retracts the latch bolt by operating on a projection on the front side, rather than on the back side thereof.
Abstract: A latch for a window sash includes a fixed plate and a latch head slidably coupled to the fixed plate. The latch head is symmetrically spring loaded to minimize rotation when the latch head translates. When the latch head retracts toward the fixed plates, hooks from the latch head engage notches on the fixed plate to lock the latch head in a retracted position. This releases the latch head from a strike so the window sash can be opened. The latch further includes a plunger centrally received in the fixed plate and the latch head. When the plunger retracts toward the fixed plate, sloped shoulders from the plunger disengages the hooks of the latch head from the notches on the fixed plate. This releases the latch head to engage the strike so the window sash is locked.
Abstract: A retaining mechanism for a slide assembly includes a stop member (60), a retaining member (70), and an unlatching member (80). The stop member is attached to a first slide (30) of the slide assembly. The retaining member is attached to a second slide (90) of the slide assembly. The retaining member includes a movable block (73). The block can prevent the stop member moving from a first side of the block to second side. The unlatching member is movably attached to the second slide. The unlatching member includes an engaging portion (83). When the unlatching member moves along a first direction, the engaging portion urges the block to move along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction for unblocking the stop member.
Abstract: A pressure activated latch includes a latch housing, a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, an internal biasing member and a sliding latch pin that is configured to engage a latch tab that is substantially adjacent to the latch housing. The latch pin is slidable between a first position in which the latch pin prevents fluid communication between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet and engages the latch tab and a second position in which the latch pin is disengaged from the latch tab and fluid communication is permitted between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. The internal biasing member is configured to apply a force upon the latch pin to bias it into the first position.
