Abstract: An integrated locking device is described. The integrated locking device is utilized to lock and remove a removable device and is especially suitable in a notebook computer. The locking device has a latch, a first elastic device, a push arm, and a sliding switch. The latch locks a fixing indention of the removable device to fix the removable device. The first elastic device provides a force to push the latch moving forward and a space for the latch moving back. When the removable device is taken out, the sliding switch pushes the push arm first. Then, a slider of the push arm pushes a sliding inclined surface of the latch to withdraw the latch from the fixing indention. Subsequently, the push arm pushes the removable device outward for releasing the removable device. The movements of the sliding switch and the latch form an included angle, preferably about 90 degrees.

Abstract: The invention described herein relates to a filter system for sterilization containers which secures a gas permeable filter onto a vented portion of the container. The filter system of the invention includes a locking mechanism that is comfortable and easy to use, and that requires a simple sliding movement of the users hand to lock and unlock the filter system components in place. The invention further includes a filter system structured such that the openings of the filter system plates permit transport of air across the filter while at the same time the openings are arranged to reduce or prevent undesirable physical perforation of the filter. By virtue of its structure, the need for particular rotational positioning of filter components in relation to one another is significantly reduced. The filter system of the invention also reduces or eliminates the need for perimeter gaskets.

A prismatic lock body (10) includes a push-in, keyoperated locking device (24) having a releasable locking detent (26′). The body (14) has front (12), rear (18) and two side surfaces (14; 16). First, second and third bores (30; 32; 34) are formed respectively at the front and two side surfaces, in a common plane, passing each other and being of a diameter slightly larger than that of the collar portion (38). The locking detent (26′) is insertable behind the collar (38) and above the first stem portion (42) thus precluding the extraction of the cable head (36) when inserted into any of the bores. Also, the rear side surface of the lock body can be secured to a portion of the computer, e.g., by gluing.

  • Patent number: 6199413
Abstract: A locking arrangement configured to secure portable equipment includes a tubular lock having a pair of locking arms projecting from a face of the lock body. Each locking arm has a shank portion and a wing portion, the wing portion extending from the end of the shank at a right angle thereto. Each wing has a substantially flat surface. The locking arms are disposed adjacent to one another, and in the unlocked configuration, the wings of both arms are in parallel opposition such that their flat surfaces substantially meet. In the locked configuration, the wings are parallel to each other but extend in opposite directions outside the envelope. This opposite orientation of the wing members prevents the lock from being withdrawn through the locking port. Moreover, if the two shanks are seated within a port whose dimensions closely match those defined by the shanks themselves, rotation of the lock will be substantially prevented.

Abstract: A retightenable and resettable strap lock for luggage includes a female buckle member with number wheels, a male buckle member for releasably engaging with the female buckle member, and a strap connected to the female buckle member and the male buckle member. A slide member is mounted in the female buckle member for restraining movement of the strap. An end of the strap is pullable to further tighten the luggage even if the male and female buckle members are engaged with each other, yet loosening of the strap by pulling the end of the strap in the opposite direction is prevented. A pull tab holder is mounted in the male buckle member for receiving two pull tabs of a zipper of the luggage. The pull tab holder is retained in place by the female buckle member when the male and female buckle members are engaged with each other.

Abstract: A security mechanism is provided, for use with portable equipment, such as a “notebook” type portable computer, which is to be coupled for use with stationary equipment, such as a port replicator or docking station. The security mechanism includes locking structures, located in complementary positions on the computer and the port replicator, for engaging each other to prevent theft by removal of the computer from the port replicator. The locking structures on the computer are standardized across a line of different computer models, so that the security mechanism is operative regardless of which of the different computer models is docked. Specifically, the locking structures of the various computers within the line of products are in corresponding positions on the computers, relative to the positions the computers occupy when docked. Therefore, the locking structures engage the same way, regardless of which computer of the line of products is docked.

  • Patent number: 6076380
Abstract: A locking device to fit over a tractor trailer or container carrier air hose coupling consists of a rectangular cage of cut tubular steel with perpendicular welded flange and adjacent hole into which fits an angle flange with welded pin. Alternatively the locking device with semicircular flanges can be fabricated from sheet steel in a continuous bending, stamping, welding and laser drilling operation. A high impact strength plastic is required when the locking device is produced by injection molding. In use a flanged cage is placed over an air hose coupling with the hole directly over the air hole, and a pin or tongue insert is inserted while the hasp of the padlock passes through matching hasp holes. The locking device can be connected and color coded and used for an inventory control system.
