Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to facilitate distribution and synchronization of digital objects between a plurality of computing devices. In an embodiment, a master file catalog is maintained at a central server. As updates are made to digital object(s) on devices associated with the central server, file catalogs are forwarded to the master catalog which is updated accordingly. The master catalog can then be reviewed to facilitate file sharing in a peer-to-peer manner between the devices. In another embodiment, one-way hash pairings are created when a digital object is created/modified. Received hash pairings can be analysed to facilitate determination of whether two extants of a digital object are the same or different. Utilizing one-way hash pairings enable sensitive information regarding a digital object to remain secure, and sensitive information (and digital objects) is only shared between authenticated devices.

Electronic items from a plurality of user-specific folders are purged and copied to a discovery hold folder. Items that fail to meet the query-based hold criteria are permanently deleted from the discovery hold folder. Items that meet the query-based hold criteria are maintained within discovery hold folder.

Data access and display can be controlled across all applications, allowing the user to concentrate on a particular issue or project without being distracted or wasting display-space on information that is not relevant to the current issue or project on which a user is working.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems for, and methods of, automatically detecting and treating field values of a particular field as null field values in records of a database. The system and method provide automatic treatment of these field values as null field values by calculating a critical frequency for the field. Based on the critical frequency of the field, the system and method treats field values that occur more than the critical frequency of the field as null field values and treats field values that occur less than the critical frequency as non-null field values.

Abstract: A co-range partitioning scheme that divides multiple static or dynamically generated datasets into balanced partitions using a common set of automatically computed range keys. A co-range partition manager minimizes the number of data partitioning operations for a multi-source operator (e.g., join) by applying a co-range partition on a pair of its predecessor nodes as early as possible in the execution plan graph. Thus, the amount of data being transferred is reduced. By using automatic range and co-range partition for data partitioning tasks, a programming API is enabled that abstracts explicit data partitioning from users to provide a sequential programming model for data-parallel programming in a computer cluster.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for generating an ensemble model from multiple data sources. In one embodiment, the ensemble model is generated using a global validation sample, a global holdout sample and base models generated from the multiple data sources. An accuracy value may be determined for each base model, on the basis of the global validation dataset. The ensemble model may be generated from a subset of the base models, where the subset is selected on the basis of the determined accuracy values.

Abstract: A method for performing garbage collection on an object heap is described. In one embodiment, such a method includes performing a copy phase on an object heap by copying live objects from a source space to a destination space. An abort condition is generated when copying an object from the source space to the destination space fails due to insufficient space. In response to the abort condition, tracing work and reference updating associated with the copy phase are terminated. A mark phase is then initiated that marks live objects in the source space. This mark phase resumes tracing work and reference updating terminated by the copy phase in order to avoid or minimize the repetition of work performed by the copy phase. A corresponding computer program product and system are also described.

Word image suggestions can be included in the system by the user to increase system recall of images for the one or more query terms and can be excluded from the system by the user to increase precision of image retrieval results for particular query terms.

An indication that the copy is a valid version of the top-level block is recorded in the copy of the top-level block.

The application exits perform predefined functions at the well defined phases such that the predefined functions enable operations including detachment of tenant data from the source tenant that needs to be copied or moved such that the detached tenant data is separated tenant data. When the source tenant is just being moved, instead of being copied, from a source location to a destination location, the source tenant is deleted once all the data associated with the source tenant has been moved to the destination location.

Abstract: In an embodiment of the invention, a method for data profiling incorporating an enterprise service bus (ESB) coupling the target and source systems following an extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) process for a target system and a source system is provided. The method includes receiving baseline data profiling results obtained during ETL from a source application to a target application, caching the updates, determining current data profiling results within the ESB for cached updates, and triggering an action if a threshold disparity is detected upon the current data profiling results and the baseline data profiling results.

Abstract: A catalog builder is disclosed. This invention relates to data management systems, and more particularly to catalog creation mechanisms in data management systems. Present day data management systems employ catalog builder tools. However, the catalog builders cannot be configured as per the requirements of the users. Further, there are no mechanism to configure custom catalogs and associated metadata. The disclosed catalog builder may be employed to configure an online central repository on the fly and build a catalog. The catalog builder is equipped with a central repository. Further, catalog builder is also provided with advanced search features and analytical capabilities in order to search for the data specified by the user and fetch the data from the central repository. The catalog builder is also provided with clustering and segmentation capabilities in order to slice and dice the data.

In one example, the visual features of a face are quantified, and the quantification of the features is represented in a vector. Aspects of the vector are then represented in the form of text strings. Social context surrounding the face is also represented in the form of text strings. The text strings—both the visual-based strings and/or the social-based strings—are associated with the face, and are stored in an index. The association of these strings with the face then may make the face text-searchable on both its visual and social features. Searches on these visual and/or social features may be used to help to assist in identifying new images of faces, or to propose tags for users to apply to photos.
