Abstract: A method for passing communications over an Optical Transport Network (OTN) from a first communication interface to a second communication interface. The first interface extracts characters from received data symbols, maps the characters into OTN communication frames and discards the synchronization symbols. The mapping is performed using a Bit-synchronous Mapping Procedure (BMP), while filling some locations in the OTN frames with stuffing characters, so that the rate of the characters matches a desired rate of the OTN communication frames. • Patent number: 9807688
Abstract: A random access procedure between a mobile terminal and a network is performed based upon the characteristics of a RACH preamble. If the RACH preamble was explicitly signaled by the network, a downlink channel is monitored until a new transmission is indicated according to radio resource allocation information received from the network. If the RACH preamble was not explicitly signaled by the network, a contention resolution timer is started and the downlink channel is monitored until the contention resolution timer expires. Such monitoring of downlink channels in a more efficient manner, results in effective reduction in power consumption.

  • Patent number: 9769587
Abstract: A multi-channel sound (MCS) system features intelligent calibration (e.g., of acoustic echo cancellation (AEC)) for use in dynamic acoustic environments. A sensor subsystem is utilized to detect and identify changes in the acoustic environment and determine a “scene” corresponding to the resulting acoustic characteristics for that environment. This detected scene is compared to predetermined scenes corresponding to the acoustic environment. Each predetermined scene has a corresponding pre-tuned filter configuration for optimal AEC performance. Based on the results of the comparison, the pre-tuned filter configuration corresponding to the predetermined scene that most closely matches the detected scene is utilized by the AEC subsystem of the multi-channel sound system.

Abstract: A hybrid modular appliance or electronic device allows a user to plug a number of snap-together component modules of different types into a base device, so that the resulting assembly performs a custom-designed functionality. With no attached component modules, the base device functions as a standalone consumer or office appliance. At least one component module has its functionality not supporting the functionality of the base device, thereby allowing the resulting assembly a hybrid device. Examples of the hybrid modular devices include a TV-Wi-Fi-router, and a TV-storage-DVR-Wi-Fi-router. A hybrid modular device can serve as a videoconference device, a music jukebox, or a home theater unit.

Abstract: Embodiments of circuitry to be included in a user equipment (“UE”) and an evolved Node B (“eNB”) are described. To accelerate the detection of one or more cells in a wireless network, a UE may perform Radio Resource Management (“RRM”) measurements based on one or more synchronization signals instead of based on a common reference signal (“CRS”). Alternatively, the UE may perform RRM measurements for a cell based on a CRS transmitted for the cell without synchronizing to the cell using one or more synchronization signals. The UE may report the RRM measurements to an cNB that is to serve the UE.
