With Gas And Liquid Contact Apparatus Patents (Class 96/243)
  • Patent number: 5871562
Abstract: An apparatus and method for introducing a liquid substance into air flowing into an environment includes a main container for containing a reservoir of the liquid substance, and exhaust fan for withdrawing air from within said container to thereby create a negative air pressure condition therein, an air intake port having an upper open end exterior of the container and a lower open end within the container and in close adjacent relationship to a top surface of the reservoir of liquid, and a resupply container connected to the main container and including a pump to resupply liquid to the main container. Operation of the exhaust fan creates an air flow through the air intake port, causing the stream of air exiting the lower open end to impinge upon and agitate the top surface of the liquid, resulting in evaporation of the liquid into the air in the container.

  • Patent number: 5855822
Abstract: A water discharge module for semi-conductor exhaust treatment apparatus includes a discharge pipe having a curved pipe body and two orifices respectively connected to a reaction chamber of the module and a bottom end of a posterior filter tank; a water discharge pipe communicating with a central bottom end of the discharge pipe; and two annular nozzles disposed at the two nozzles of the discharge pipe. The nozzles spray water mist inwardly towards the interior of the pipe body. Due to the curved configuration of the pipe body and the nozzles spraying inwardly, there are no dead corners or spots in the pipe body so that exhaust can flow smoothly downwardly and waste water carrying particulates can also flow smoothly downwardly to the water discharge pipe for discharge.

  • Patent number: 5851293
Abstract: A flow stabilization system for damping pressure variations in a process discharging an effluent gas stream, in which the process is pressure-sensitive and downstream pressure variations can adversely affect the upstream process, said system comprising a motive fluid driver constructed and arranged to receive the effluent gas stream from the process, and means for sensing a flow characteristic of the effluent gas stream and responsively adjusting the flow of the effluent gas stream to damp pressure fluctuations in the process.

  • Patent number: 5846272
Abstract: A system for precipitation of pollutants from an off-gas, wherein the off-gas is cooled in a smooth-tube heat exchanger (13). The off-gas flows through a bundle of tubes (19) which extend vertically or tilted inside the heat exchanger. Cold water is introduced at a secondary side connection (43) of the heat exchanger (13). An air stripper (36) and a mist eliminator (26), and an optional electrostatic filter (27), are installed downstream of the heat exchanger (13). In the heat exchanger (13) and the air stripper (36), a portion of the condensable pollutants condenses out and a portion of the water-solubles and solids are precipitated. The system can be cleaned automatically and requires only a small placement area.
