Abstract: The present invention is a hand held utility knife for cutting and trimming materials such as carpet, vinyl, wallpaper and the like. The utility knife comprises a knife body adapted for grasping in a single hand and at least one knife blade mounted proximate a guide end in the knife body and having a cutting direction axis. The guide end includes at least one guide cheek defining a planar surface disposed at an angle theta relative to the knife blade such that the guide cheek is adapted to slidably engage and move parallel along an adjacent planar surface thereby ensuring that the blade cuts material at a uniform and preselected angle. The guide cheek ensures the knife cuts in a uniform angular relationship relative to an adjacent planar surface such that the guide minimizes rotation of the knife body about the cutting direction axis.

Abstract: A hand-held measuring and cutting device for pliable tubing, man-made or natural cordage, roping, etcetera. The device comprises a plurality of demountably conjointed and diametrically opposing rigid substrates that house or provide surfaces for insertion therein or attachment thereto, a plurality of elements including a conventional type linear measuring counter for measuring pliable material prior to being cut. A blade and blade plunger, handle, compressor member, and feed hole being so disposed, attached or inserted therein or thereto, provide for single-hand operation of the measuring and cutting operation of the device. The device safely shrouds the cutting blade, and provides for quick and easy disassembly of the unit to change the blade or to access other internal mechanisms. Easy access to the complete interior including the waste ejection port, blade recess and all moving parts makes maintenance simple.

Abstract: A cutlery device is provided having a blade with a sharpened edge and an opposite, unsharpened back. The cutlery device also includes a tang extending from the blade which is at least partially enclosed in a handle. The tang has a tapered thickness to produce a cutlery device that is balanced when grasped with some fingers on the handle and some fingers on the blade. The back of the blade is curved so that a finger may be comfortably pressed against the back. The handle is curved for comfort and pieces of the handle are secured on the tang with rivets of varying length to accommodate the shape of the handle. A sharpening aid is also provided for the cutlery device which has at least one angled wall for positioning a sharpening surface at a sharpening angle, permitting the cutlery device to be held with the blade positioned vertically during a sharpening operation.

Abstract: A cutting tool includes a saw blade and a blade case adapted to cover the saw blade. A light may have a light for illuminating a portion of a workpiece that will be cut by the saw blade during a cutting operation. The light may be mounted within the blade case, so that the light is laterally displaced from the saw blade. A mounting device may be utilized to receive the light and the mounting device may be disposed within the blade case.

Abstract: This invention provides cutter/lighter combination devices wherein the cutter is equipped with a blade attached to a holder that moves on a track. The end of the blade holder distal from the blade edge protrudes from a notch in the side of the case. When the protruding portion of the blade carrier is pushed forward in the direction of the case, the blade moves forward across the aperture to cut any object which has been inserted into the aperture. The blade edge may be any shape, so long as the cutting edge is not present in the aperture in the absence of pressure on the blade carrier to force the blade edge to move the blade across the aperture.

Abstract: The present invention is a utility knife adapted for measuring by incorporating a pair of hooks into the blade end of the handle of a common utility knife, which hooks are designed to removably secure the tab of a spring-biased measuring tape such that the tape may extend roughly laterally from the knife but also roughly parallel to the surface being cut. The angles of the hook relative to the knife end are designed to correct for measuring inaccuracies created by the distance that the knife blade must be held away from the surface to be cut; the invention allows the printed measuring surface of the tape measure to remain roughly parallel to the surface being cut, allowing for great ease in reading the measurements during cutting.

The device (2) also includes a mechanism (32, 36) located at the end portions of the limbs (6, 8) facilitating piercing or cutting the packet (4) to form an opening (38), allowing the contents to be dispensed upon effecting a sequential squeezing action on the packet (4) starting from a point distant from the opening (38).

Abstract: The invention is an adjustable aerosol can holder attachment kit for a conventional tree pruner. The addition of the device to a conventional tree pruner gives the user the ability to hold and operate an aerosol can of spray paint at the end of the tree pruner. After the user saws off a tree branch using the saw on the end of the pole, a rope attached to the branch cutting lever arm is pulled. This in turn depresses the nozzle on the spray can, which is attached to the conventional tree pruner. When the rope is pulled and the nozzle depressed, the spray can sprays its contents in the area designated by the user. The attachment kit consists of a receiving sleeve for holding the aerosol spray can and a wedge-shaped plate which attaches to the conventional tree pruner.

A flexible serrated mobilizer probe (composed of metal, plastic, or composite) is inserted into the terminal fan head air nozzle of an air or leaf blower in such a way that a mass of often wet debris is stirred, tossed, moved, and cut. Thus, the invention opens pathways into the matted mass so that airflow is effective. The device includes a curved sharp terminus, which acts as a vegetation cutter on both flat and irregular surfaces. Abstract: An air deflection system and method which is specifically designed for use with reciprocating saws of the type widely used for construction projects. Such reciprocating saws are known to produce so much air-borne particulate matter that they can be a hazard to the eyes, head and respiratory system of the user. The air-borne debris also makes it difficult for the user to see the work being cut. The design provides a slip-on cover for air exit ports which has the effect of deflecting air and hence the particulate matter in a direction away from the head of the user. The resulting effect is a safer and more efficient sawing operation which is accomplished with a low-cost and easy to install deflection shield.

Abstract: A device that adapts a wide range of appliances such as drills, awls, screwdrivers and sockets to use with a multifinctional pocket tool such as a pocket knife or other folding tool. The device firmly attaches the appliances to the multifunctional pocket tool so that the user can pull on the appliance in addition to pushing and turning. The adapter clamps firmly to flat blade such as a screwdriver blade by clamping to the blade with a screw and by forcing the sides of the adapter against the broad sides of the blade as well. The appliance is firmly retained by having a rigid thin rod or ball slide into the cavity in which the appliance is held to block its removal. The rigid thin rod or ball is easily moved out of the way to allow removal of the appliance.

Abstract: This invention discloses an improved configuration for a hand propelled throwing projectile, combining elements of a throwing knife, a spear, a dart and an arrow. It includes a sharpened and pointed blade, a flight-stabilizing conical tail of flexible filaments, a rigid shaft between the blade and tail, and a blade holder between the blade and shaft which has a mass in relation to the entire projectile so that the projectile's center of gravity is located within the grip portion of the blade holder, which is contoured for gripping and throwing by at least two fingers. The projectile is thus gripped at its center of gravity, and the thrower's kinetic energy is imparted to it in the most efficient manner, as if the entire projectile were a mass point. The projectile is more easily thrown with accuracy and more reliably impaled in its target by users with minimal training and experience than a traditional throwing knife.

The handle assembly includes a collet having two longitudinal slits that enable the collet to secure the blade in a first and second direction to prevent slippage during operation. The collet fits in the handle and is secured by a retaining member that fits over the collet with the blade intact. The retaining member is loosened/tightened by a wrench that is part of the holder assembly. The wrench is configured to cover the blade completely when the wrench is placed in operation. Part of the cover is removable for cleaning by inserting the closed end of the wrench into the wrench body and pushing the cover's cap off.

The blades are located in a protected position between the handle and brush, and inside the comb, so that exposure of the blade is minimized for safety. The working head is also adjustably mounted to the handle, so that the effective length of the latter is adjustable.

The pen switch which is disposed between the side cover of ball pen and the pen body contains a push button at the front end, an elastic slit at the rear end, a protruded rod at the rear end and a snapping rod at the outer edge.

Abstract: A cutter assembly which includes a support, a recess in the support, a slot formed within the recess for receiving a cutting blade having a cutting edge such that only the tip of the cutting edge extends from the support. A U-shaped channel adjacent to the slot defines a flexible finger in engagement with the blade. A cover plate shaped to fit within the recess retains the blade within the slot. The cover plate has a pin projecting therefrom which is dimensioned to be received within a distal leg of the U-shaped channel so as to maintain the finger in engagement with the blade and at least one projecting button for engagement with the surface of the blade to retain the blade within the slot.

Abstract: Disclosed is a knife with lighting fixture which mainly consists of a pair of cases, a pivotally turnable knife, and a pivotally turnable supporting plate. The supporting plate has a cell, a bulb, and a push button supported thereon. The push button is slightly projected from one of the case so that a depression of it may lighten the bulb to shine toward the knife for convenient use in a dark place. The supporting plate may be easily turned out of the cases for mounting a new cell and/or a new bulb when necessary.
