Abstract: To carry out drying of printing ink with the use of Nano sized high-temperature dryness steam. Nano sized high-temperature dryness steam being clustered on Nano oder is generated and jetted to the print side of printed material so that the Nano sized high-temperature dryness steam imparts intramolecular vibrational energy to ink of the print side. Consequently, the Nano sized high-temperature dryness steam being clustered on Nano oder not only passes through fiber pores in the printed material but also collides with the ink of the print side. The Nano sized high-temperature dryness steam having collided with the ink of the print side imparts thermally excited energy as intramolecular vibrational energy to the ink containing polar molecules. The ink is dried by the intramolecular energy.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for the uniform drying of boards, such as gypsum wallboards. The apparatus includes a dryer through which a series of boards are conveyed in a side-by-side relationship. While in the dryer, heated air is delivered over the boards via a series of separate air channels. A bypass duct delivers a portion of or a totality of unreheated air to the outermost channels where the cooler air displaces a volume of the warmer air. As a result, the air in the outermost channels is cooler than the air in the interior channels. Air from the outermost channels is then directed over the exposed longitudinal edges of the boards.

This method is useful in many industries, including coal-fired power plants. Coal is dried using the present invention before it goes to coal pulverizers and on to the furnace/boiler arrangement to improve boiler efficiency and reduce emissions. This is all completed in a low-temperature, open-air system. Also included is an apparatus for segregating particulate by density and/or size including a fluidizing bed having a particulate receiving inlet for receiving particulate to be fluidized. This is useful for segregating contaminants like sulfur and mercury from the product stream.

Abstract: An apparatus for thermally de-coating and/or drying coated and/or contaminated materials comprises a support and an oven pivotally mounted to the support. The oven has charging portion for receiving material to be treated and a changeover portion. Incorporated within the changeover portion is a heat treatment chamber through which a stream of hot gases can be passed. The oven is pivotally moveable between a first position in which the changeover portion is higher than the charging portion and a second position in which the charging portion is higher than the changeover portion. The arrangement is such that the oven can be repeatedly moved between the first and second positions so that material within the oven falls from one portion to the other portion, passing through the stream of hot gasses in the heat treatment chamber. A method of using the apparatus is also disclosed.

Abstract: A proximity member moves in a moving direction (?X) in a condition that an opposed surface of the proximity member is disposed in the vicinity of a substrate surface and that a liquid-tight layer is formed between the opposed surface and the substrate surface, and nitrogen gas is discharged toward an upstream-side interface of the liquid-tight layer from the upstream side (+X) to the proximity member in the moving direction. Thus discharged nitrogen gas is blown selectively and in concentration against an exposed interface portion, a rinsing liquid forming the exposed interface portion is blown away from the substrate surface and the liquid-tight layer, and a substrate surface region which corresponds to the exposed interface portion is dried.

  • Patent number: 7361325
Abstract: A substantially dried XF•nH2O2 product is produced by method(s) wherein a feed solution comprised of (i) a XF composition wherein X is K, Na+ or NH4+ and n is an integer from 1 to 3, (ii) hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), (iii) a fluid carrier component and (iv) a potassium bifluoride (KHF2) catalyst, is atomized as it enters a desiccation/evaporation chamber. The atomized feed solution coats fluidized particles passing through the desiccation/evaporation chamber. The coated fluidized particles are dried by a pre-heated gas stream and thereby creating fluid-bed particles that are coated with a layer of the XF•nH2O2 compound. The resulting XF•nH2O2 coated fluid-bed particles are then subjected to disintegration forces that serve to break substantial portions of the layer of dried XF•nH2O2 material from the outer surfaces of he individual fluid-bed particles. These dried XF•nH2O2 are then recovered as the product of these production methods.

Abstract: A sprinkler system and a method for mitigating scaling, microbiological influenced corrosion and oxidative corrosion are disclosed. The system includes a piping network in fluid communication with a source of pressurized water and an air pump. The network is vented to the ambient. The air pump moves initially dry ambient air through the system, either by maintaining a negative or a positive air pressure within the network. The dry air absorbs residual water within the network and exhausts it to the ambient. Rate of air flow through the system is controlled by restrictor elements such as orifices, throttle valves or venturies within the piping network.

Abstract: What is described is a process and an installation for drying articles, in particular painted vehicle bodies, in which the articles are moved through a drying zone in which they are hardened in an inert-gas atmosphere. Inert gas is taken from the drying zone constantly or intermittently and is first of all conducted along a first face which is at a first temperature at which higher-boiling contaminants condense out. The condensate that forms in the process is discharged. After that, the inert gas which has been pre-cleaned in this way is conducted along at least one second face which is at a lower temperature than the first face. Lower-boiling contaminants are precipitated at this point. These condensates, too, are then discharged. This process and installation work more favourably, energy-wise, and with higher cleaning efficiency than known processes and installations of a similar type.
