  • Patent number: 11234162
Abstract: A wireless device may receive packets according to a protocol, such as Bluetooth, and may rapidly react to receive an interfering RF packet instead of dropping the first RF packet and the interfering RF packet, to decrease message delay due to collisions in high device density environments. When a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) difference between the interfering RF packet and the first RF packet exceeds a threshold, the device may detect the interfering packet and resync a portion of its circuitry to lock on to and receive the interfering packet. The wireless receiver may detect the interfering RF packet by detecting one or more of: a specific resync byte sequence, an increase in RSSI, or a phase shift. Additionally, a wireless device may add the specific resync byte sequence to an RF packet of a standard protocol.

  • Patent number: 11229030
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for transmitting an uplink signal, a terminal, and a network device. In one aspect, in embodiments of the present invention, by receiving configuration information of a zero-power uplink reference signal transmitted by a network device, and determining resources occupied by the zero-power uplink reference signal according to the configuration information, no uplink data is transmitted over the resources, and/or no non-zero-power uplink reference signal is transmitted over the resources. Since resources are pre-reserved on a terminal, the interference with uplink reference signals transmitted by other terminals over pre-reserved resources caused by uplink signals transmitted by the terminal over the pre-reserved resources is effectively avoided, and reliable transmission of the uplink reference signals of the terminal can be ensured, thereby improving the transmission performance of these uplink reference signals.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and systems are provided for improving utilization of a communications system through various atom-based techniques for enhancing the viewing experience for Internet protocol content. Some embodiments exploit atom-based processing to determine which content atoms to broadcast (e.g., multicast) over which channels to which subscribers. Other embodiments make atom-based filtering, caching, and/or other determinations at the user terminal. For example, low-level (e.g., physical layer) filtering may be used to limit the amount of user-layer processing needed, and to facilitate delivery of content to those users most likely to desire that content. Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for enhancing wireless message throughput at high traffic density and high interference rates, by use of a managed message transmission protocol in which the base station instructs each node to transmit or retransmit a DAT message. For example, the base station may determine which node has experienced the most delays and may grant that node permission to transmit immediately, while instructing other nodes to wait their turn. Protocols can provide, under control of the base station, prompt mitigation and message completion after messages are corrupted by interference. The average delays, collision rate, and failure rate may be substantially reduced while the success rate and uniformity of access may be substantially improved. The managed transmission protocols can be incorporated in current and planned systems by software updates at low cost, while retaining the ability to receive and process messages from legacy nodes transparently, according to some embodiments.

Abstract: A method in a network node includes obtaining a first identifier associated with resuming an inactive connection between a wireless device and a network. The method further includes receiving a second identifier from the wireless device. The second identifier is either the same as the first identifier or is associated with the first identifier. The method further including determining a location indicator based on the second identifier. The location indicator indicates a location within the network from which to obtain information associated with the connection. The method further including obtaining the information associated with the connection from the location indicated by the location indicator. The method further including using the information associated with the connection to facilitate resuming the connection between the wireless device and the network.

  • Patent number: 11129153
Abstract: A method for communicating data between a base station and a terminal device in a wireless telecommunications system, for example an LTE-based system. The wireless communication system uses plural frequency sub-carriers spanning a system frequency band. Physical-layer control information for the terminal device is transmitted from the base station using sub-carriers selected from across the system frequency band, for example to provide frequency diversity. However, higher-layer data for the terminal device is transmitted using only sub-carriers selected from within a restricted frequency band which is smaller than and within the system frequency band. The terminal device is aware of the restricted frequency band, and as such need only buffer and process data within this restricted frequency band during periods where higher-layer data is being transmitted. The terminal device buffers and processes the full system frequency band during periods when physical-layer control information is transmitted.

  • Patent number: 11115349
Abstract: An interfabric link between two separate Fibre Channel fabrics so that devices in one fabric can communicate with devices in another fabric without requiring the merger of the two fabrics. The interfabric switch performs a conversion or a translation of device addresses in each fabric so that they are accessible to the other fabric. This translation is preferably done using a private to public loop address translation. In a first embodiment the external ports of the interfabric switch are configured as E_ports. A series of internal ports in each interfabric switch are joined together forming a series of virtual or logical switches. The virtual switches are then interconnected using private loops. The use of the private loop is enabled by the presence of translation logic which converts fabric addresses to loop addresses and back so that loop and fabric devices can communicate.

  • Patent number: 11116010
