Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for cluster based data in wireless sensor networks. The method includes: selecting any one of border nodes positioned at the edge of a cluster as a temporary cluster head as a temporary cluster head when a target is sensed in the cluster; bugging data of the temporary cluster head by border nodes in other adjacent cluster which do not sense the target to temporarily change the border node selected as the temporary cluster head to a cluster head of each of the border nodes; when the target is sensed by at least one of the border nodes, collecting data from each of the border nodes by the temporary cluster head to transferring the collected data to an actual cluster head of the temporary cluster head; and aggregating the collected data by actual cluster head of the temporary cluster head.

Abstract: Mobile broadband traffic has been exploding in wireless networks resulting in an increase of interferences and reduced operator control. Networks are also becoming more heterogeneous putting additional demand in interference management. Scheduler schedules uplink transmissions from UEs based on a load prediction algorithm that typically assumes worst case. However, UEs do not always use full power granted, and thus, much of granted radio resources are wasted. To address these and other issues, technique(s) to accurately predict/estimate other cell interferences and thermal noise separately and to accurately predict/estimate load utilization probability and variance is(are) described. Inventive estimation technique(s) can be used to schedule UEs to more fully utilize available radio resources. Extended Kalman filtering can be adapted for use in estimation providing low order computational complexity.

Abstract: A method of iteratively determining an optimal configuration for rehoming a plurality of base stations among a plurality of RNCs is disclosed. In a first iteration, a proposed rehoming configuration and an associated performance metric indicative are determined. The performance metric is indicative of a load imbalance of the proposed rehoming configuration, a quantity of inter-RNC handovers that would be exhibited by the proposed rehoming configuration, or both. A plurality of additional rehoming configurations are iteratively determined by: selecting one of a simulated annealing algorithm, an intensification algorithm, or a diversification algorithm responsive to a type of algorithm used in the preceding iteration, the performance metric of one or more preceding iterations, or both; and performing the selected algorithm to identify an additional rehoming configuration. Responsive to a completion event, a determined rehoming solution having a performance metric exhibiting a greatest improvement is outputted.

Abstract: Described herein are techniques related to data communications using a data packet having at least one frame with a robust preamble for use over media having a high degree of non-stationary noise (e.g., impulsive noise). The described techniques employ a preamble with a structure having multiple transitions between the preamble sections. Each transition indicates the start of the upcoming frame. With the techniques described herein, if noise damages the transitions between such sections beyond recognition, the receiver can still determine the frame start time from the one or more of the undamaged transitions. Thus, the robustness of communications via the noisy media is significantly increased.

  • Patent number: 8489136
Abstract: A communication system including a host transceiver, one or many device transceivers, and a wireless or wired link, in which encoded digital audio data and optionally also other auxiliary data are transmitted and received between the host transceiver and one or many device transceivers. The wireless link can but need not be a Certified Wireless USB (“CWUSB”) link, which utilizes WiMedia Ultra-Wideband (“UWB”) radio technology. For certain embodiments, packets of encoded audio data are transmitted from a host to a device or multiple devices over the wireless link utilizing a variety of data packet transfer methods, with the host adapting its algorithms dynamically to provide the digital audio content over a changing wireless error rate environment. The host intelligently controls the method of data transmission, including data encoding format, synchronization, latency, and transmission rate, in response to data transfer error information it detects or receives from each individual device in the system.
