  • Patent number: 11573905
Abstract: Examples described herein include systems and methods for retaining information about bad memory pages across an operating system reboot. An example method includes detecting, by a first instance of an operating system, an error in a memory page of a non-transitory storage medium of a computing device executing the operating system. The operating system can tag the memory page as a bad memory page, indicating that the memory page should not be used by the operating system. The operating system can also store tag information indicating memory pages of the storage medium that are tagged as bad memory pages. The example method can also include receiving an instruction to reboot the operating system, booting a second instance of the operating system, and providing the tag information to the second instance of the operating system. The operating system can use the tag information to avoid using the bad memory pages.

The computer initializes optimal compensations for the test sample, where the optimal compensations are optimal perturbations to test sample values of respective components of a multivariate input variable. The computer determines local gradients for the test sample. Based on the local variance and the local gradients, the computer updates the optimal compensations until convergences of the optimal compensations are reached. Abstract: Using a natural language processing model, a historical defect report comprising a defect description in narrative text form is parsed. Within a code repository, source code associated with the historical defect report is identified. From the historical defect report and the source code, a logging rule comprising a defect type, logging placement information corresponding to the defect type, and logging format information corresponding to the defect type is generated. By parsing a new defect report using the natural language processing model, the new defect report reporting a defect in new source code, it is determined that the logging rule applies to the new defect report. Logging source code generating logging output when executed is placed within the new source code according to the logging rule. Execution of the new source code including the logging source code is caused, generating the logging output.

Abstract: The disclosure generally provides methods, systems and apparatus for functional safety systems. In one implementation, a shim layer of software codes that maps into register information collects diagnostic error data. The data is then channeled through one or more virtual tunnels into a Host-based STL. The virtual tunnels are unidirectional to only provide Read access and thereby prevent unauthorized Write access. In another embodiment, the information is provided to external subscribers. The external subscribers may gain access to different levels of data according to the subscription level.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for implementing an automated parallel deployment solution. Embodiments of the invention described herein prevent defects from being introduced in a production environment, or those that could be introduced in a production environment, by parallel log monitoring of existing and new state systems. One or more systems may be created in parallel to the production system to detect and fix defects. In embodiments of the invention, as existing defects are captured and resolved by the automatic defect resolution system and method, these defects will not impact production any further. Thus, the automatic defect resolution system drives out all production defects over a window of time, requiring less and less maintenance over time. Once a given defect is fixed, the corresponding change is applied to the production environment to avoid future similar defects.

Abstract: Automated computational methods and systems to classify and troubleshoot problems in information technology (“IT”) systems or services provided by a distributed computing system are described. Each IT system of the distribution computing system or IT service provided by the distributed computing system has an associated key performance indicator (“KPI”) used to monitor performance of the IT system or service. When real-time KPI data violates a KPI threshold, a real-time event-type distribution is computed from event messages generated by event sources associated with the IT system or service following the threshold violation. The real-time event-type distribution is compared with historical event-type distributions recorded for the KPI data in order to identify the problem and execute remedial action to resolve the problem.

Abstract: Improved technical functionality is provided to dynamically select and seamlessly play advertisements immediately before playing of a recorded program upon selection of the recorded program for playing, or upon other detected events and conditions associated with the set-top-box (STB) or user. In some embodiments, this is performed by using metadata which may be delivered to and stored on a digital video recorder (DVR) prior to recording the program, providing a technical solution to enable opportunities for additional advertisement impressions. Playing of the advertisement may also or instead occur upon the recorded program finishing playing. Thus, the technical solution provides the additional opportunity for the content creator and/or the satellite television or cable service provider to sell advertising spots in addition to those already sold for breaks within the recorded program.

  • Patent number: 11231342
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a four-dimensional imaging method for structural damage based on a time-invariant characteristic signal. The method first uses a probability statistical modeling method to describe the uncertainty distribution of the amplitude of each sampling point in the signal in the healthy state and the damaged state of the structure, respectively. Then the degree of difference between the two distributions at each point is measured to suppress the influence of the time-varying factor, highlight the influence of damage, and construct a time-invariant characteristic signal. Finally, the time-invariant characteristic signal of the pitch-catch channel is fused by using the guided wave imaging method to further enhance the influence of damage. Based on this, four-dimensional imaging is performed to achieve reliable and accurate location of structural damage.

In particular, the system may process real-world data obtained in the production environment and automatically replace sensitive or confidential information with realistic substitute data, then provide the sanitized data to the systems within the low level testing environment. The system may account for differences in table schema amongst a plurality of disparate databases within the production environment and the low level environment, thereby allowing the system to provide sanitized data only to the extent that it is needed for testing purposes. Furthermore, the system selectively provides sanitized test data on an as-needed basis, removing the need to continuously generate testing data.
