  • Patent number: 4982589
Abstract: A swiveling type plastic working machine such as a forging machine having a slanted molding die holder which is swivelled about a vertical axis. The molding die holder is fixed with a first molding die confronting a second molding die on which a workpiece is mounted. Rotation of the molding die holder about its axis is also controlled in connection with a slanting angle thereof relative to the vertical axis so as to provide no slippage between the first die and the workpiece, or so as to provide a controlled slippage therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4947668
Abstract: A rolling milling tool is constructed so that the roller, in the form of a sphere, or cylinder or cone, is supported in a hydrostatic bearing to avoid counter rollers, thereby reducing the size of such tools. The roller is held in a bearing socket or guide chamber which may provide for an axial play of the roller in the chamber. The bearing socket or guide chamber is formed in a roller head which may be itself constructed for being chucked in a tool holder, or the roller head may be received in a housing which is held in a tool holder of a machine tool, such as a lathe. Ducts connect the hydrostatic bearing to a source of fluid pressure. The tool is suitable for a smooth rolling and/or work hardening roller operation.

  • Patent number: 4795333
Abstract: Rotary forging of a component from powder is accomplished in a single forging operation without any sintering or other processing by firstly pressing the powder in a closed die situation to produce an initial compressed form and then subjecting this compressed form to a rotary forging process.

  • Patent number: 4704066
Abstract: A method for the manufacture of a guide blade for a turbine or compressor guide wheel, uses a profiled bar of heat and corrosion resistant metal that is cut to oversize length. This is in preparation for soldering the bar into a guide wheel, with the bar having at least at one end a baselike thickening which is upset in a cold state, and with a soldering surface formed in its inner zone.

  • Patent number: 4698992
Abstract: In the upper part of the wobble-die forging machine, a guide spigot of the bell-shaped upper die mounting engages, for the production of circular rocking movements, by way of self-aligning roller bearing means into a first eccentric sleeve, which is rotationally guided by way of further bearing means in a second eccentric sleeve supported by way of bearing means at the machine frame. In this case, the first eccentric sleeve stands in driving connection by way of coupling means with the shaft of a first motor and the second eccentric sleeve stands in driving connection by way of cogwheel means with the shaft of a second motor, wherein the one and/or the other of the motors is or are regulable in respect of rotational speed and rotational direction through a common control equipment.

  • Patent number: 4651548
Abstract: The ejector, penetrating the lower die of the wobble die forging machine, bears a punch vertically displaceable to the former, which interacts with a cutter arranged centrically and rigidly in the upper die to penetrate the workpiece and thrust the thereby resulting excess material into the cutter under the effect of a superimposed movement of stroke of the ejector piston, the movement of stroke of the piston bearing the lower die, and the wobble movement of the upper die. In this way, highly precise through bore in respect of diameter and rotation can be reached, whereby, in addition to this, a concentration of material can be achieved in the hitherto always soft core of the workpiece, which comes nearer to that in the formed edge regions of the workpiece, with which a wall of a hole of finest finish and very high strength results.

  • Patent number: 4497188
Abstract: A process and an apparatus for the peeling of wire wound into a coil and/or to be wound into a coil in a wire peeling machine. The wire is peeled bent in the form of a loop, with the individual wire loops having a curvature corresponding essentially to the curvature of the wire in the coil and the wire loops being separated so that the wire is being guided on a helically curving path. At least in one location a piece of a wire loop is spaced apart from two adjacent pieces of the adjacent loops so that a peeling head peeling a first loop piece may be accommodated between the two other loop pieces. In particular, the wire is guided helically on the circumferential surface of a partial annular torus or a cylinder. The wire may be peeled directly, i.e., without prior straightening. The axis of rotation of the peeling head is perpendicular to the plane formed by the curved axis of the coil, which also contains the axes of the disk or disks. The axis of rotation of the peeling head is horizontal.

  • Patent number: 4391121
Abstract: An orbital tool assembly for forming rivet heads has a housing attached to a driven member rotatable upon a first axis, the housing having a bore along a second axis at an acute angle to the first axis. A head having an axis coincident with the second axis and including a fluid pressure chamber is retained within the housing with bearings interposed. A coaxial driver on the head has a plurality of bores parallel to the second axis in communication with the pressure chamber, and mounts a reciprocal peening tool holder in each bore, supporting an axial peening tool. An anti-rotation arm at one end extends at right angles to the driver and is secured thereto with its other end engaging a bracket, the arm being free for rocking movements in a plane passing through the first and second axes. Rotation of the head oscillates the peening tools in the rocking plane, the peening tools being in operative engagement with unheaded rivets.

  • Patent number: 4313248
Abstract: The invention is concerned with a heat transfer tube for use in boiling type heat exchangers, having an excellent heat transfer performance. More specifically, the invention relates to a surface condition of the heat transfer tube for improving the heat transfer performance and a method of producing the tube easily, especially a method for processing the surface condition efficiently and advantageously from an industrial point of view. The essential feature of the invention resides in a provision of a surface condition for promoting the boiling which consists of annular or spiral cavities extending along the tube surface in the circumferential direction of the latter, as well as narrow gaps extending along the cavities so as to allow the cavities to communicate the outside space. If necessary, spiral or annular fins may be provided on the tube surface, so as to improve the boiling performance at the outside of the tube.

  • Patent number: 4131006
Abstract: Riveting apparatus is shown to comprise a riveting spindle mounted for vertical reciprocating movement in a frame under the influence of a cam controlled lever and a reacting spring means. A motor in driving relation to a rotary shaft embodied in the spindle operates a wobble type riveting tool. Depending on the embodiment the same or a separate motor functions to drive a cam device, through the medium of which the lever is uniformly and periodically cycled to produce a vertical movement of the spindle which carries the riveting tool to and from an underlying work piece. One end of the lever is connected with the spindle while the other is pivotally anchored to the projected extremity of the piston rod of an air cylinder. The latter may be set to fix the operative position of the projected extremity of the piston rod and thereby the pivot point of the lever.
