To ensure that the coupon does not slip out of place as assembly operations proceed, the frame or the coupon itself is fashioned with at least one slot position to interlock with a corresponding part of the coupon or the frame, accordingly.

The filling piece is formed to have a three-dimensional shape by means of being displaced in a folding shaft (57) with laterally arranged folding means. The filling pieces (39) produced in this way are conveyed along a filling piece track (78) and are introduced into a block track (79) in transverse direction so they can each be united with a cigarette block (23).

Between the rim below the triangular facet and the rim below the trapezoidal panel portion is an engaging element for reinforcing the cover member to the base member. The reinforcement means includes a lip of the cover member that overlaps and inserts beneath the bead of the base member. A receiving element also may be provided for holding complementary articles. In addition, the cover member may have a slightly recessed top wall for receiving a label for identifying the display.
