Abstract: A computer enclosure includes a base and a mounting bracket. The base includes a mounting pole. The mounting bracket includes a mounting mechanism. The mounting mechanism includes a mounting member. The mounting member is movable perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the mounting pole, and the mounting member is capable of removeably retaining the mounting pole thereto to thereby releasably connect the base to the mounting bracket.
Abstract: A window includes at least one movable sash having a horizontal rail with a horizontal top portion and a vertical portion extending downward from the horizontal top portion. A pull rail portion extends from the horizontal rail beyond the vertical portion. A latch is located below the pull rail and adjacent the vertical portion. The latch includes a pull handle configured to release a latching mechanism from one of a second sash or a frame.
Abstract: A latch system employs momentum exchange impact damping. A latch is slicleably arranged within a housing so that the latch can slide between a latch position and a release position. A damper spring urges a damper against a wedge of the latch. When a mechanical impact urges said latch toward the release position, the latch wedge impacts the damper so as to exchange momentum from the latch to the damper so that the latch remains in the latch position.

Abstract: The home invasion deterrent system comprising a flush-mounted floor bracket with an aperture for inserting a vertical column assembly. The floor bracket may be mounted over and aligned with a core drilled hole in a (concrete) floor. The vertical column assembly has affixed at the upper end a door stopping plate support arm with a door stopping plate and rubber bumper block mounted to it parallel to an entry door. The door stopping plate is adjustable in proximity to the entry door to a user-preferred distance and secured in position with a locking pin (or threaded means) to allow the user to ascertain a visitor's identity safely without the visitor gaining entry without permission. Other embodiments, kits and method(s) of use are also embodied.
Abstract: A locking system wherein the latch is rotatable to provide either a first beveled surface for use as a ramp in latching or a second beveled surface for use as a ramp in unlatching. An entire latch module may be rotated about its axis by a rotary solenoid to achieve this function, and the first and second ramping surfaces are physically the same surface repositioned by rotation 180°. Alternatively, a releasable latch has a beveled surface for engaging a striker plate during bolt entry and a non-beveled surface for locking. The latch is pivotable to allow the non-beveled surface to become the beveled ramp for unlocking. The releasably pivotable latch mechanism may be used with a deadlock. The mechanism is readily incorporated into a rim exit device for releasably securing a door such as an emergency exit and may be actuated either electrically or manually.

Abstract: A sash window restrictor (20) has a housing (22) which is to be let into a vertical frame member (10) of one sash (normally the upper, outer sash) of a window, at a position, say, 10 cm above the top rail of the lower sash when the windows are closed. A tab (24) is mounted in the housing and can be retracted into the housing or extended from the housing. A mechanism acts between the tab and the housing and allows the tab to be pressed into the housing and held in the housing for a period of time before the tab is released to allow the tab to extend. With the tab extended, the lower sash (12) can be lifted until it reaches the tab (24) but no further, so that a 10 cm gap will be opened at the bottom of the window.

A lock assembly in the top box locks/unlocks the door and a release assembly in the main body operates the lock assembly. The lock assembly and the release assembly are configured to automatically engage one another when the top box is mounted on the main body. Thus, no manual connection is needed between the two assemblies and the lock assembly may be preinstalled independently of the release assembly. Moreover, any suitable top box design may be used with the lock assembly, and any suitable main body design may be used with the release assembly. This allows the top box to be selected much later in an assembly process than previously possible.
