  • Patent number: 10268695
Abstract: In one example an updated snapshot delta value is computed upon occurrence of a new transaction. The new transaction is a data modification operation performed on data blocks of the storage device. Further, the delta value indicates at least one of volume of data modified since creation of a reference snapshot and number of transactions performed since the creation. Subsequently, the updated snapshot delta value is compared with a corresponding threshold value. The threshold value is at least one of a predetermined volume of data modified and a predetermined number of transactions. A snapshot action is subsequently performed based on the comparison.

  • Patent number: 10139431
Abstract: If input signal is transmitted to a main body unit, a sensor amplifier stores the input signal in itself as measurement data, and transmits the input signal with the added transfer order information to the main body unit. By checking the transfer order information added to the input signal, the main body unit can confirm if the input signal is deficient or not. Upon the end of the measurement of the physical quantity, the main body unit transmits the retransmission request that requests the retransmission of the deficient portion of the data to the sensor amplifier. According to the retransmission request from the main body unit, the sensor amplifier extracts the deficient portion of the input signal data stored in itself and retransmits the extracted input signal data to the main body unit.

  • Patent number: 10097723
Abstract: The book page turning operation of an automatic page turning apparatus is controlled by a tablet. Every time the automatic page turning apparatus completes a page turning operation, the tablet photographs the page and stores its image. During this processing, the tablet stops the series of page turning operations of the automatic page turning apparatus every time a sequential page-turning count m reaches a preset interruption page count M. Then, the tablet restarts the series of page turning operations in response to a photographing restart instruction from the user. As a result of this configuration, the user is freed from an operation of stopping a page turning operation during image photographing.

  • Patent number: 9942181
Abstract: Examples of systems and methods for context based virtual area creation are described. Some examples provide a quick and easy way for users to wrap virtual areas around contexts of interest. Examples of such contexts may be defined in terms of one or more of content, people, and real-world location. The virtual areas support realtime communications between communicants (e.g., one or more of text chat, voice, video, application sharing, and file sharing) and provide a persistent historical repository for interactions in the virtual area. Summaries of activities and other events in virtual areas typically are published in realtime so that other communicants can readily obtain a quick summary of the activities occurring in a particular context and decide whether or not to join or otherwise participate in those activities.

Abstract: A spatial layout of zones of a virtual area in a network communication environment is displayed. A user can have a respective presence in each of one or more of the zones. Navigation controls and interaction controls are presented. The navigation controls enable the user to specify where to establish a presence in the virtual area. The interaction controls enable the user to manage interactions with one or more other communicants in the network communication environment. A respective presence of the user is established in each of one or more of the zones on response to input received via the navigation controls. Respective graphical representations of the communicants are depicted in each of the zones where the communicants respectively have presence.

Abstract: A sheet feeder includes a first tray and a second tray. The first tray is movable to a first open position and a second open position. The second tray is movable between a closed position and an open position. When the second tray is in the closed position and the first tray is in the first open position, a first tray surface of the first tray forms a first angle with the chute surface. When the second tray is in the open position and the first tray is in the second open position, the first tray surface is located between the chute surface and a second tray surface of the second tray and forms a second angle with the chute surface, the second angle being smaller than the first angle and the first and second angles are obtuse angles.

  • Patent number: 9413905
Abstract: A mobile terminal improved in operability concerning fax transmission. A CPU of the mobile terminal sets information indicative of a fax transmission destination, sets reading and transmission information concerning fax transmission and original reading, and sends a request for fax transmission, to an image forming apparatus. When a response notifying capability of fax transmission is received from the apparatus, the CPU causes a message for prompting a user to set an original, to be displayed on a display section. When the original has been set and an instruction for fax transmission from the user is received, the CPU sends an instruction for reading the original and executing fax transmission, together with the transmission destination information, and the reading and transmission information, to the apparatus. The CPU causes a result of fax transmission by the apparatus to be displayed on the display section.

  • Patent number: 9406089
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products for processing video of tax documents and associated verbal input provided by a user and populating at least a portion of an electronic tax return with processing results. A video/voice processor associated with a tax return preparation application executed by a computing apparatus such as mobile communication device receives a video of a tax document and voice data. The document type is determined using video and/or voice data. Voice to text conversion can be used to determine what a user said about the document to determine the document type. Tax data determined from the video is used to populate a field of the electronic tax return. A front facing camera may be used to take a video of a tax document while a rear facing camera is used to detect a facial expression, which may result in certain dialogue with the user.
