Abstract: A network facsimile system is configured such that telephone numbers which a relay server can user are assigned to communication terminals. When a image is transmitted from the communication terminals to destinations outside the network facsimile system via the relaying server, the assigned telephone numbers are used as station signal numbers. When an image is transmitted to the relaying server from origins outside the network facsimile system, destination communication terminals are identified based on the telephone numbers assigned thereto and receiving telephone numbers. Then, the image received by the relaying server is transmitted to the identified communication terminals.

Abstract: A communication apparatus having a document data storing function for storing received document data and a Web service function for displaying the received document data to an external apparatus via a network is disclosed. The communication apparatus includes a document data sending part for sending the received document data displayed by the Web service function in accordance with a sending request from the external apparatus. When the sending request is made by the external apparatus, the external apparatus can designate sender data indicative of the sender of the received document data.

Abstract: In a disclosed image forming apparatus, an original is scanned and image data of the original are obtained. The data size of the image data corresponding to one page of the original is measured. The image data obtained are stored in or deleted from a memory. A storable number of pages of the original that can be stored in the memory is calculated based on the data size measured and available space in the memory. In response to the storable number of pages calculated being less than a total number of pages of the original, the image data of the original is successively stored in and deleted from the memory.

Abstract: The present invention provides a transmission apparatus and method which realize a redial function and prevents the leakage of transmission information to the outside by inhibiting the display of the information including a destination to which retransmission is made, when it is determined that a predetermined condition is satisfied, whereby security can be enhanced. When the transmission of image data is not completed, a control section performs a retransmission process for transmitting again the image data to the same destination with the use of the redial function, and counts the number of times of the transmission. The control section determines whether the number of times of the transmission is greater than a predetermined value or not. When the number of times of the transmission is greater than the predetermined value, the control section reports a transmission error and deletes the information including the destination.

Thumbnail images of one or more pages of the multi-destination and/or multi-service job can also be included on the confirmation sheet. In various exemplary embodiments, when elements of a multi-destination or multi-service job are not completed at the time the confirmation sheet is requested, the confirmation sheet can include various structures or information usable to obtain job status at a later time.
